"Dracrawla", drainage crawler na kayang ma-detect ang mga bara at sira sa mga daluyan ng tubig | 24 Oras

May innovation na naman tayo kontra-baha! Dahil imbes na magpadala ng tao para inspeksyunin ang mga bara at sira sa mga daluyan ng tubig, automated na 'yan gamit ang isang drainage crawler na ginamitan pa ng A.I.!

24 Oras is GMA Network’s flagship newscast, anchored by Mel Tiangco, Vicky Morales and Emil Sumangil. It airs on GMA-7 Mondays to Fridays at 6:30 PM (PHL Time) and on weekends at 5:30 PM. For more videos from 24 Oras, visit http://www.gmanews.tv/24oras.

00:00Let's change the game!
00:10We have an innovation again, a flood.
00:13Because instead of sending people to inspect the dams and damage to the waterways,
00:19it is now automated using a drainage crawler used by AI.
00:24Let's go! Let's change the game!
00:30Someone's thirsty for blood?
00:37It's not Halloween yet, but tonight we'll meet Dracula!
00:45Not that Dracula, but this!
00:52Meet Dracula, short for drainage crawler.
00:56Designed for remote-controlled drainage inspection of waterways and dams.
01:02It can provide drainage visual, distance, and dimension data
01:06to get the condition of the drainage that doesn't send people to the bottom.
01:12The project is part of Smart City Solutions, funded by Mandawi City and DOST
01:18to solve the floods in Metro Cebu.
01:21We met with the brains behind the project here in Cebu City,
01:25led by Dr. Rachel M. Chong of Cebu Institute of Technology University.
01:30What are the existing methods to inspect the drainage?
01:35Based on our interview with DPWH, it's really manual.
01:40Then there's inspection, sometimes there are hazardous gases underneath.
01:45It's dangerous for people to go there, sometimes there are garbages.
01:52So for a safer and more efficient drainage inspection,
01:56Dracula was created.
01:58It has a camera to get the images inside the drainage.
02:03Using artificial intelligence,
02:05the images will be processed to find out if there's a crack or a hole.
02:11It also has sensors to get the size and shape of the drainage for drainage mapping.
02:18Connected to a wired cable, it can travel up to 100 meters while being tracked by GPS.
02:25We're now in the drainage simulation.
02:29What we're doing is taking pictures of the drainage.
02:34Dracula activates the sensors to check out the situation
02:39to see if there's a crack, the drainage, and how big the size is.
02:45It's very easy to control and navigate,
02:48and more importantly, the people who control it.
02:51It's very easy to control and navigate,
02:54and more importantly, the people who control it.
02:57It's very easy to control and navigate,
03:01and more importantly, the people who control it.
03:04It's at a safe distance.
03:07But Dr. Rachel reminds us to do inspections and maintenance
03:11before it rains to avoid problems.
03:14The group will roll out Dracula to LGUs this year.
03:21There you have it, Kapuso.
03:22Another useful innovation that makes disaster prevention safer and more efficient.
