00:00And the first we're going to talk about is Saquon Barkley. Now, Saquon Barkley left the
00:07Giants to go to the Eagles this off season and much to the chagrin on hard knocks and
00:12Joe Shane, uh, unfortunately, uh, Mr. Mayor was not too happy about that move. It seems
00:17like somebody wasn't getting an extra cookie at the cafeteria in the Giants facility that
00:22day, but Saquon has a chip on his shoulder. He is going to by far the best offensive line
00:27he's ever played with, with the Philadelphia Eagles. Also arguably the best quarterback
00:31situation, the best, uh, let's see overall weapon situation. Let's just say it's better.
00:35Can we just say it's much better? I mean, significantly better. The question is how's
00:39the health of Saquon Barkley? Is that healthy? Is that better? Is that finally in a situation
00:45where you feel good in investing in him? Cause it's not the talent. The talent's always been
00:48there with Saquon. I don't want to question the motivation of him. He's a fantastic athlete,
00:52but it seems like the marriage was just over between player and organization. It was time
00:57to move on. But it is curious cause he had different options. The option he took was
01:01to go to Philadelphia and kind of rub their nose in it. Now, typically I kind of like
01:05that, especially at a discount charge. So Saquon is not the next guy on my list, but
01:10he is the next guy in the consensus ranking. So I want you to talk to me about Saquon Barkley.
01:15Cause again, it's never about the talent. It's never about what he can possibly do.
01:19We know he's a three down back. He can catch the football. He can run the football. He
01:22can score touchdowns. He can work at the goal line, early downs. He can do it all.
01:26The only question is, can he do it on a weekly basis and not miss time? So George, where
01:32do you stand on the value and return on investment you're getting at Saquon Barkley currently
01:36going where he is in ADP as the fifth running back and the 11th player off the board?
01:43You know, in some ways his injuries are overrated. All right. This is where the old lies, damn
01:47lies as the text list comes in. Last three seasons out of a possible 50 games, he's played
01:5443. He's only missed seven games, which by the way, for a running back over three seasons,
02:00you're probably signing up for that. All right. They know if you're drafting a running back
02:03today in a dynasty league, you're probably taking 43 out of 50 and just hope he doesn't
02:07miss any playoff games, right? Fantasy playoffs. So that's probably what you'll take there.
02:12Now the problem has been that he's been hurt a lot of games where he hasn't been himself.
02:17That's been the issue where he plays, but he's not Saquon. All right. So he's not really
02:21helping you as much as you'd like him to do. Now, everything you said is true. You said
02:24arguably, listen, he's playing with the best quarterback, the best wide receiver, the best
02:29offensive line he ever has. All right. It's the only thing that's remotely close. All
02:33right. Forget arguably. The only thing I truly worry about, all right, I am worried about
02:37health somewhat, I admit, but the only thing I worry about is that damn tush push. And
02:43by the way, I worry about this if I draft Hurts as well, because I don't know, you know,
02:47Kelsey's gone. So are they still going to do it? Are they still going to be as good
02:50at it? Or are they not going to do it anymore? Because they have a legitimate running back,
02:54you know, so they don't need to do it anymore. Let's go to the running back. Why, why risk
02:57Hurts getting hurt? Which I think he did last year, by the way. I think that may have been
03:00part of the reason why he didn't play as well in the last third of the season. So, you know,
03:04I don't know what's going to happen here. It's going to be a mix with the, you know,
03:07keep the defense's guessing. Sometimes we'll do tush, sometimes we'll go with the Barkley.
03:11There's a lot of guesswork here for both players here. So I do have faith that Barkley is going to
03:16put up a really good season. I do, because I think, by the way, what you said, he wants to
03:20rub it in the Giants' faces is so true, because he had other opportunities. He could have left
03:25the division. He could have went pretty much wherever he wanted, and he chose to go down the
03:28turnpike. All right. So I think there is something there. Have faith in Barkley. There's no doubt
03:33the injuries are in the back of my head. I think he's ranked right where he should be, a nice
03:37second-round running back. And if I had a good wide receiver round one, I don't have much of an
03:43issue taking Barkley in round two, but he is also another thing. If I have Barkley,
03:49I don't want another, especially another top player who also has that injury bug,
03:53because I can't have two guys in my top five picks that I know aren't playing 17. All right. I don't
03:58like that. I can have one, maybe even two overall on my team, but I don't want to go any further
04:02than that, but definitely not two top players. Yeah. I think that's an important piece of this
04:06puzzle you're mentioning, which is the roster construction. When you're taking a guy like
04:09Saquon, you better have an Amon Ross St. Brown. You better have somebody that, you know, hey,
04:13every week, this guy's going to be the guy, you know, it had been AJ Brown and same team,
04:17a little bit tricky of a situation there. I love that you brought up the Kelsey situation too,
04:21because with Jason Kelsey gone, I don't know if that tush push the brotherly shove is going to be
04:25quite as efficient. That's the guy that really made that play work. It's asking a lot of anybody
04:30else to be as good at that as he was. And you have to expect a little touchdown regression
04:34from Jalen hurts last year too. And I would imagine you're probably right. Maybe it does
04:38look more like a 10 or a nine rushing touchdowns as opposed to the 15 that he had last year,
04:43which was a record him and Josh Allen both got to last season. So Saquon really intriguing.
04:48I agree at the right price and the right roster construction, the right pairing
04:53that would work for me, but maybe Puka and him, maybe that's not the best scenario with
04:58Puka already having some injuries and a guy who's a dripper in college. That might be a lot to ask.
