00:00Oh, no! That was close!
00:06Thank you, Doctor.
00:08Oh, no, little kitty. Don't thank me.
00:11Instead, thanks to my brain.
00:15Oh, hello, friends. Yes, you heard it right.
00:19The reason we can do all these awesome things is because of our brains.
00:25Yes, you heard it right.
00:27The reason we can do all these awesome things in our lives is due to an essential organ in our body called the brain.
00:38So today, let us learn about this vital subject that helps us to learn about the vital subjects and explore the amazing world of the brain.
00:52Zoom in!
00:55Your brain is basically the boss of your body as it controls everything you do.
01:02Things like learning, thinking, feeling, dancing, even breathing and your heart rate.
01:11It's due to your brain, you can pull pranks on your siblings and friends.
01:16And you won't believe, but not even super computers can match its powerful ability to download, understand and react to the volume of information coming to you through your senses.
01:33So, how does the brain manage all this?
01:38Different parts of your brain control different functions.
01:42So, let us start with the largest part called the cerebrum that takes up to 85% of your brain.
01:52It's actually the thinking part of your brain and controls your muscles.
01:58It's due to the cerebrum, you can walk, dance, play games and most importantly, learn about various subjects on..
02:08The Dr. Binoc show. Isn't it cool, friends?
02:13Next comes a relatively small portion, but an essential part of your brain called the cerebellum.
02:21Which helps you to maintain your balance and regulates motor movements.
02:26That means, without the cerebellum, you would be falling all over the place.
02:31Now comes a small, but a mighty force to be reckoned with.
02:36The brain stem, that is connected to the spinal cord.
02:41It controls those areas of your body that you don't need to work on.
02:46Like breathing, maintaining your heart rate, digesting food etc.
02:52Without us even knowing about it.
02:54Then comes a little almond-shaped area of your brain called the amygdala.
03:00It is responsible for emotions, survival instincts and helps to store memories of events.
03:08Wow! A small part with big responsibilities.
03:14Trivia time!
03:17Did you know that the brain is made up of two parts?
03:21Trivia time!
03:23Did you know that your brain generates about 12 to 25 watts of electricity?
03:30That is enough to power a low voltage LED light.
03:35Also, scientists have recently discovered that for a period of time, after you have exercised..
03:43Your body produces a chemical that makes your brain more willing to learn.
03:48So if you are stuck on some difficult homework, go out and run, play or exercise around for a while.
03:57Then tackle the problem again.
03:59You might discover that you are much more able to solve it.
04:03It's question time!
04:06So friends, today's question is..
04:09Which is the largest part of your brain?
04:12Do write your answer in the comment section below to be part of the Peekaboo family.
04:18To show how fit and fine is your brain.
04:22Until next time, it's me Dr. Binox, Zooming out!
