00:00We are giving you the news that the court-martial proceedings against the former DG ISI Faiz Hameed have begun.
00:06In the light of the Supreme Court orders, the Pak Army has filed an inquiry against Faiz Hameed.
00:10ISPR has to be informed that the court-martial proceedings against the former DG ISI Faiz Hameed have begun.
00:16Brigadier Retired Haris Tawas is also with us to talk about this matter.
00:20Brigadier sir, the court-martial proceedings against the former DG ISI Faiz Hameed have begun. What do you have to say?
00:26Look, this was an order from the Supreme Court.
00:29There was a problem with the top strategy.
00:31There was a very detailed inquiry on it.
00:34And after the inquiry, it has now been decided that they will be court-martialed.
00:39The thing is, look, in the army, the word deception is used very strictly.
00:44We have a self-analysis, self-accounting system,
00:48in which whenever there is an inquiry against a serving or retired officer in the military,
00:53and if it is found that there are some officers who are against him and he has spoken ill of them,
00:58then there is an inquiry.
00:59Even before this, a three-year-old general was imprisoned,
01:03a 14-year-old officer was executed, he was sentenced to death.
01:07And this means that in the army, self-accounting is very strict.
01:13It is very strict, no compromise is made on this.
01:17And this is the example of how many high-ranking officers you have in front of you.
01:21The inquiry is very transparent.
01:24All the opportunities are given to prove their innocence.
01:27But if it is proven, then there is a court-martial after that.
01:31Court-martial means that there is sufficient prosecution, actionable evidence.
01:36Based on this, a two-star or three-star general will be the president of the branch,
01:42and there will also be officers from the branch.
01:46And all the requirements of justice will be met.
01:48Whatever opportunity is given to the defense, it can present it in its defense.
01:53After that, the court will decide that it is fully in power.
01:56And after that, the identification of the officer will be given to the chief officer.
02:01Brigadier General, please tell us,
02:03it has been said by the ISPR that multiple inconsistencies have been proven.
02:07This inquiry was initiated on the complaint of Top City,
02:09and multiple inconsistencies have been proven.
02:11Now, for the sake of knowledge,
02:12are these incidents related to the initial complaint,
02:16or are they also seen in other places where the name has come from?
02:20What is the procedure?
02:21Generally, in an inquiry, there is an allegation and a charge sheet.
02:26This is what you see.
02:28Based on that, a board is formed, an inquiry is constituted,
02:32and that inquiry is done.
02:33After that inquiry, findings are made, opinions are formed, recommendations are made,
02:39that there is sufficient evidence in this inquiry.
02:44They have made allegations against so-and-so.
02:46They have used their power excessively,
02:52because of which there should be a legal action against them.
02:54And then they recommend that there should be a proper action against them.
02:59That action is that you announce a written court-martial,
03:02and after that, a proper court-martial will be carried out with them.
03:06In that too, all the requirements of justice are met.
03:09There is all the evidence in that.
03:11There is prosecution evidence.
03:12The defense is given full time.
03:14And then, after that, the court.
03:16But the difference between a military court and a civil court is that
03:18there is a day-to-day basis in this.
03:21The decision is made quickly.
03:22But in a hurry, all the requirements of justice are met.
03:26Chief of Army Staff, Janashir Munir, is very strict on the issue.
03:30Whatever serving or retired officers,
03:32if they are found guilty in these matters,
03:34they will definitely be prosecuted.
03:36And this is always the case in the army.
03:38It is not the first time.
03:39In front of you, a fourth sergeant, a third sergeant was shot,
03:42a fifth sergeant was sentenced to death.
03:44There are many other things like this.
03:46We do not announce, but there is no compromise in this.
