00:00Hamid Mir sahib and Fahad Hussain sahib are with us, of course they don't need any introduction.
00:05Mir sahib, senior most journalist, host of the program Capital Talk.
00:11Sir, let's start with you. Thank you very much for giving us both the time.
00:14Mir sahib, this question seems like a Sheikh Rasheed type question,
00:18that the next four weeks are important, six weeks are important, six weeks are common.
00:21But will it be right to say this in today's situation?
00:24Today when I am talking to you, it is 4th September.
00:26From today to 26th October, when the next Chief Justice will take over his post.
00:33Indeed, the next 7-8 weeks are very important in many ways.
00:37And can some decisions be taken for the country's politics? Is it right to say this?
00:43Look, Wasim Badami sahib, first of all, your question is very valid.
00:47But I am feeling very sorry that you are asking me questions about the Chief Justice
00:56and his relationship with politics.
00:59You are right.
01:00So this is actually a tragedy of ours.
01:02It has been a long time that we see which army chief will come
01:11and after that where will politics go.
01:15And now you are saying, what will happen till 26th October?
01:21And your question is directly related to the Chief Justice.
01:24So in your question, the answer is also there that the biggest problem of Pakistan right now
01:32is that our politics is revolving around the Supreme Court.
01:39In fact, it would be better to say that the Supreme Court is revolving politics.
01:44So we will keep revolving and the government will try to pass such legislation before 26th October
01:55through which the number of judges of the Supreme Court will increase.
02:00And when the number of judges will increase,
02:04then the government will go to the review petition of the full bench decision on the reserve seats.
02:12When it will go to the review petition, then the government's plan is that if the number of judges will increase
02:23and if it will be 19, 21, 23 or 24, then the reserve seats of PTI will not be given.
02:35And in this way, there will be peace and tranquility everywhere.
02:39And in Pakistan, the rivers of milk and honey will keep flowing.
02:42Do you think that the government will be successful in this?
02:44Is there a greater chance of this or a greater chance of failure?
02:46Because the whole thing is a number game.
02:48Look, the thing is that every government thinks that by bringing an army chief of its own accord
02:54and a chief justice of its own accord, or by appointing a judge of its own accord,
02:59it thinks that it will be secure.
03:02I can give you a lot of examples.
03:04But...
03:05I remember when Saqib Nisar became chief justice and an army chief became someone else,
03:09then there was a tweet by Maryam Bini that I don't know, the stars started to dance and the sky started to shine
03:15and after that, the whole party was destroyed.
03:19So, I can give you a lot of examples.
03:22But, look, what happens is that if you are the majority in the parliament
03:27and if you use that majority to manipulate the judiciary,
03:32then you will be successful temporarily.
03:35But history tells us that ultimately, you fall flat on your face
03:40and the pit that you have dug for someone else, ultimately you fall into that pit yourself
03:46and then you come out of it.
03:49May God forbid that we don't see such scenes in the future.
03:52Correct.
03:53So, Mr. Fahad, what is your explanation in this?
03:55Obviously, ultimately, the whole thing is a number game.
03:57I cannot dare to say in front of you both that this is my information
04:01because your information and explanation...
