00:00When you go to Europe, would you choose to bring your car or hire one while you're out
00:06there? Well, according to British motorists, driving abroad is actually preferable to driving
00:11at home. And it's all down to the quality of the roads. Six in 10 drivers told the RAC
00:17that local European roads are in better condition with fewer potholes than the same types of
00:21roads here in the UK. And it wasn't just local roads. More than half of the drivers
00:25polled thought Europe's motorways had fewer and less severe potholes too. The RAC called
00:30this concerning given the roads are tasked with handling millions of vehicles travelling
00:34at high speeds each and every day. Asked to compare five aspects of driving between the
00:39UK and Europe, motorists only ranked the UK higher in one category and that was for the
00:44ease of understanding road signs. However, the majority ranked visibility of painted
00:48road markings higher in Europe and thought roadside litter was less of a problem there
00:53But what about you? How do you think the UK's roads compare to those in Europe? Would you
00:57drive abroad and why or why not? And how important is upgrading the UK's road network in your
01:03opinion?
