An “unreserved apology” has been made to a person who was accidentally locked inside Wetherby Town Hall as staff were closing up.

00:18Passers-by realised that someone was stuck inside and quickly informed the building's

00:24Since the incident, a member of staff has decided to retire, while the rest of the Town
00:28Hall team have been undergoing closing-down training.
00:31A spokesperson from the Town Hall said the incident happened in breach of its existing
00:35procedures and an unreserved apology has been issued to the person concerned.
00:41Subsequent training has been given in the hope that something similar doesn't happen
00:44again.
00:45The grey two-listed building dates back to 1845 and is one of the most prominent buildings
00:51in Wetherby.
00:52It houses the Town Council's offices and hosts the authority's regular meetings.
