00:00And based on pedigree and recent sample size, sure, the Lions are the reigning NFC North
00:08champions, but it's been a division owned by Green Bay in the last decade and a half.
00:14The Packers have not won the division the last two years, Minnesota in 2022, Detroit
00:19in 2023, but prior to that, eight divisional crowns for Green Bay in an 11 year span.
00:27But the quarterback for those divisional championships, Aaron Rodgers, now it's Jordan
00:33Love paid handsomely, handsomely this off season, $55 million per year, right alongside
00:40Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence as the highest paid quarterbacks in the history of the National
00:44Football League entering 2024.
00:48And there should be optimism in Wisconsin based on what Jordan Love put on tape to end
00:53out the regular season, to earn a playoff spot for the Pack, and of course, that upset
00:58at the star knocking out the Dallas Cowboys.
01:01But is it enough for you, DRS, to convince you that Green Bay will be a 10 win and playoff
01:07team once again?
01:09I think they can be, I really do, because sometimes you like the way the season starts
01:13compared to the way it finishes here, because the vibes were very high for Green Bay at
01:17the end of the season.
01:18And you're right, that game in Dallas really woke up a lot of people to see what that top
01:22end can be for the Green Bay Packers.
01:24If you take a look at the offensive line, it's not one of the better ones in the NFL,
01:27but certainly a solid one.
01:28The one thing that we've always waited for and you watch is you get that perfect storm,
01:32the young wide receivers playing with a young quarterback and the maturation process continues.
01:37You saw that with the Green Bay Packers at the end of last season.
01:40What's one thing you can hope for if you're the Green Bay Packers as a fan?
01:43Of course, you want Jordan Love to be healthy the whole season.
01:45That's the name of the game.
01:46Keep your starting quarterback in there for the full 17 weeks.
01:49But like Christian Watson could just be healthy the whole year.
01:52No hamstring injuries, no leg issues here.
01:54Just be that top end guy.
01:55What this offense can be.
01:57And say what you want.
01:58A year ago, we were talking about the downfall of the running back position.
02:02Anybody can plug in anywhere.
02:04Nobody's going to get signed to big money.
02:05How about coming out of nowhere with Jacob signing as now your first string running back
02:08in Green Bay to take over for Aaron Jones.
02:11Love that move.
02:12Like everything makes sense on offense and also continuity matters.
02:16It's not as if Jordan Love last year was a first year starter that he had no idea was
02:19going to take place.
02:20And he was a rookie.
02:21He was in that Green Bay system for years and now another year under Matt LaFleur.
02:25I just think the sky is the limit for that Green Bay offense.
02:28The defensive side, solid front fours, got some playmakers in the secondary.
02:32They'll be neck and neck all season long with the Detroit Lions.
02:35But I think once again, this isn't a team we're going to get caught off guard with.
02:39We know the capabilities of the Green Bay Packers.
02:41Are they ready to take that next step and truly challenge, let's just say, the San Francisco
02:4549ers for supremacy in the NFC?
02:46I don't know.
02:47But this is a quality football game.
02:50It's a quality football team.
02:51And what you can expect on a week-to-week basis is competency out of that offense.
02:54I really think you get that.
02:55There's no reason to believe that the Packers should not make the playoffs this year.
02:58They should be in.
