00:00Tenacious, I think is a word that you'll probably hear from a lot of people. When he was a supporter
00:24of the cause, he really got very much involved and was very, very passionate, very passionate
00:29about all causes and interests in Mackinacleth and the town and the area in general. A very
00:35well-known face and very well-known figure.
00:38Chancellor Williams was our longest-standing trustee. We've been a trustee for 41 years.
00:43He's been a great stalwart and voice for our organisation, champion for our cause for
00:4841 years. Needless to say, he'll be incredibly sadly missed and his presence in town will
00:53be very sadly missed.
00:55Funny he was. He was larger than life sometimes, yes. But he was the sort of person who'd do
01:01anything to help anyone. You just had to phone him, speak to him and he was a font of knowledge.
01:07If he couldn't help you, he'd know who to tell to help you. And you'd see him around
01:12town and anything that was going on, he was there.
01:16Well, he was a long-time member and he supported the club very much. You know, he used to support
01:25the games there we played and, well, he supported a lot of things in town. The club was only
01:31one thing.
01:32So, we're First 100 Scouts. We're here this morning to pay our respects to Mike Williams,
01:37who was our chairman for a number of years and also been very supportive of the group,
01:43coming in to help us with a number of badges, with the Scouts and Explorers, with UK Parliament
01:48Week and other aspects relating to community work within the badges. So, we're just here
01:53to say thank you on behalf of the group.
01:57When we asked, he was always up to help us on countless litter picks, up and down, in
02:03and out of the town we'd done with him. He was always there first to kind of lend a hand
02:08when we asked.
02:13So, thank you.
