Orsted on plans for on-land Isle of Man windfarm
Transcript
00:00I think there's a couple of options for sort of landfall sites as part of the project as well,
00:06have you got any clearer understanding of where that may be or preference I suppose,
00:13or is that still up in the air at this moment? There's a lot of factors that feed into that,
00:20so the two locations we have in Groudon and Port Scilly are both on the basis of
00:26Manx Utilities' feedback to date, which is they want any pilot lands, they want it to be in the
00:31Douglas area, that kind of makes sense because you can imagine that's where Poelrose is,
00:36Middle River substation and the existing interconnector lands into Port Scilly already,
00:41so I can't say whether we've come to a point where we'll be able to narrow it down and it
00:46may be perfectly feasible that we get to the stage of application that we're still discussing
00:50feasibility with Manx Utilities about both being options, it would be an either or option,
00:55so we're not talking about landing in both locations, but the reality is we've just got
01:00to work that through with Manx Utilities, it's their job to own, operate and distribute electricity
01:05on the island, so in some ways we're in their hands but I'm pleased to say it's a conversation
01:09that's continuing and going really well.
