00:00The World Health Organization declared MPOCS as a Global Public Health Emergency, or the so-called Monkeypox.
00:08This is one of the many cases of MPOCS in the Democratic Republic of Congo and other nearby countries.
00:15MPOCS is also discussing whether it should be declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern
00:21to speed up research, funding, and public health measures.
00:26MPOCS can be detected through direct contact with body fluids.
00:31It has symptoms such as flu and it can cause wounds or skin lesions.
00:36MPOCS has been proven twice as a Global Public Health Emergency within two years.
00:41Our Department of Health has been alerted following the declaration of the WHO.
00:46According to the DOH, MPOCS cases in the Philippines are still rampant.
00:51Four cases were reported in 2022 and five cases were reported last year.
00:56No new cases of MPOCS have been reported in the Philippines since December last year.
