00:00All right, Mojo, we just talked about the two best offensive Kansas City Chiefs.
00:09Now let's talk about the best defender on the Chiefs, Chris Jones.
00:13Chris Jones, who is a dominant, dominant force on that defensive line, and deservedly so,
00:20recently signed a near $160 million extension, Mojo.
00:24Well, he's looking to put his money to, I don't know if it's good use, but to use, Mojo,
00:30by making a million and a half dollar payment to get a woman freed from prison.
00:38So try and follow this story here, because it's crazy.
00:42There is a woman who is in her mid-60s, Mojo, who worked in a cafeteria at a school in a
00:48Chicago suburb.
00:49Well, this woman was recently convicted.
00:53Her name is Vera Liddell.
00:55Vera Liddell was recently convicted and sentenced to nine years in prison after admitting to
01:02stealing a million and a half dollars' worth of chicken wings, Mojo, 11,000 cases, not
01:09wings, 11,000 cases of chicken wings.
01:14Now it turns out that she was doing this and the school district had no idea until they
01:20did an audit and it turned out that she had went way overboard on the budget.
01:26They found out what she was doing, turned her in, authorities get involved, and again,
01:30now she's about to go to prison for nearly a decade.
01:34Enter Chris Jones, who says, and he did this via Twitter, Mojo, via X, I'll pay for the
01:40wings that she stole to get her free.
01:43So that's Chris Jones saying, hey, you guys are out a million and a half dollars.
01:48I will give you the money.
01:50Just let her go.
01:51Unfortunately for Chris, that's not how the criminal justice system works.
01:55You'd rob a bank.
01:56You don't get to just pay for the money you took out of the vault and everything is cool.
02:00You know, let's all go about our way.
02:02It's not how it works, Mojo.
02:03So I don't think this is going to work for Chris Jones or Vera Liddell, but I guess it's
02:09the thought that counts.
02:12What a story.
02:13What?
02:14I love it.
02:15It's my favorite.
02:17A million and a half.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Right.
02:20What the a million and a half dollars in chicken wings over 11,000 cases.
02:23I mean, I don't know how many total wings that is.
02:26I don't know how many wings are in a case, but 11,000 cases is, is a lot if you're asking
02:31me.
02:32So this is just totally wild.
02:35Kind of crazy.
02:36It took the school system this long to find out taking this many wings.
02:40I have so many questions.
02:41How many she was taken at one time.
02:43Mojo, we don't even know what she was doing with the wings.
02:47That's the big mystery here.
02:48Was she eating them?
02:49Selling them?
02:50Oh, nobody knows.
02:51You have to assume she was selling them, right?
02:53I mean, I don't think anyone could eat that many.
02:57Not even someone like massive like Chris Jones, I don't think could eat that many wings.
03:01I mean, I I'm with you.
03:02I don't know how many come in a case, but you got to figure there's a lot of wings in
03:05a single case, no less 11,000 of them.
03:08Yeah.
03:09Joey Chestnut couldn't even eat that many wings, but you said it, Babcock.
03:13I don't know if this is a good usage of his money.
03:16It is a usage of his money.
03:17I mean, obviously he felt some sympathy here.
03:21I'm not sure necessarily why.
03:23I mean, stealing food from the kids at school is not exactly the person I would choose to
03:30send my money to.
03:31I would probably send my money to the children or to the school for sale.
03:36I mean, that's probably the better way to go about this.
03:40But Chris Jones, a really nice guy, a great player.
03:44He felt something here.
03:45But yeah, what a crazy, crazy story.
03:48So many wings.
