A-level results 2024 at Portsmouth Grammar School
Transcript
00:00I didn't revise at all in year 12, and I got quite low, well it's over now, it's fine,
00:15so I had to revise harder in year 13 to get back to where I should have been in year 12.
00:23So you made up for it in regards to, what were you saying, was there anything that made
00:30you think like, am I going to do it, am I going to not, were you surprised by the results?
00:35My mock grades weren't amazing I guess, so like, being able to tell myself that I couldn't
00:41do it and all that, and tell myself that I haven't seen the best of me since year 12.
00:49Excellent, and what were you saying?
00:52So I had three coursework subjects, so I find it really tough to try and manage all three
00:58coursework subjects, but it's paid off in the end and I'm going to my dream university.
01:03Any challenges that you guys faced, what your results were, what you expected, how did it go?
01:09My exams went worse than I was expecting, but I still got into my first choice university,
01:16which I was really happy about, and so I'm just looking forward to that for September.
01:21I was knocked off my bike by a car just before my 18th birthday, and then I was put in foster
01:27because I broke my wrist just a couple of months before my A-Levels, like a month before
01:31my A-Levels, so I was revising and rebuilding my wrist.
01:34I was exhausted every day, so I was just really worried that it was going to impact my A-Levels
01:39because I thought that I would just be in sort of less of a stable position to go in
01:45and do them, but it turned out to be okay.
01:48Yeah, absolutely, you recovered both ways in that respect.
01:53What about yourself?
01:54That's hard to imagine!
01:56It was tough over like three or four months of revision period, and doing revision for
02:02that long was kind of tiring.
02:04It was quite like a big stress almost, but it was fine in the end.
02:09Absolutely, and now you've got a little bit of break in the summer.
02:12Yeah, we've got about a month left now.
