00:00Okay then Rosie, I've seen lots of big smiles this morning, just tell me what you got in your results?
00:05So I did A levels in maths, further maths, physics and chemistry and I got four A stars.
00:10And how did you feel when you came in this morning and saw those results?
00:13I was really nervous coming in but I was really shocked and delighted at how well I'd done.
00:19It just felt like all my hard work had paid off so I felt really relieved as well.
00:24Just tell me where you're going to go and study now then?
00:26So I'm going to be studying maths at the University of Oxford.
00:29Are you really proud to be doing that?
00:31Yeah and I'm really excited at the start.
00:34Okay then, just tell me what you got in your results then please?
00:38I did English literature, media studies, film studies and EPQ and I got B's across the board.
00:45Were you expecting that? Were you a bit surprised?
00:47I put in the hard work and I feel like it paid off. I was kind of expecting them, yeah.
00:52How do you feel now knowing you've got those results?
00:55Small bit of relief but actually I'm more proud than anything because I worked for it and it paid off so I'm more than happy.
01:03And what's your plans now then? What are you going to go and study and where?
01:05I'm looking to study English literature at Stirling University.
01:11Okay then Tony, I'll just ask about this year's headline figures and how you feel about the results then?
01:16Yeah, we're really pleased with the results this year, the same as what we was last year.
01:21Actually there's been an increase on our A star to B results this year so we're really proud of those high achievers and those results.
01:30What we have also seen is 100% pass rates across many of our A levels.
01:35In particular some of those in the creative industries, particularly around film and media studies.
01:42And obviously with the work that's going on in the city around crown works, that's a great asset for us to be able to combine those developments and the results of our students.
01:53I understand you've also got a student going off to Oxford as well, is that right?
01:57We have and we are exceptionally proud of Rosie. That's an amazing achievement.
02:01We're proud of all of our students but actually to have a student progress onto there from Sunderland is a real credit to the city and to the college.
