Transcript
00:00Arresting a high-ranking official is faster,
00:04the justice system is different,
00:06and PDLs have increased their budget for food.
00:09That's just a few of the Congressmen's efforts
00:12in the budget hearing of the DILG and its attached agencies
00:17for the year 2025.
00:19That's the story of Menelis Morax.
00:24I would just like to put it on record
00:26that we are not like that.
00:28As far as Kibula is concerned and the others,
00:31we are doing it.
00:31In fact, we were demanded on record.
00:35I, the PNP, was demanded
00:38because of our raid on the Kingdom of Jesus.
00:40And we are going to answer these accusations against us.
00:44That's for the record.
00:44We are not like that.
00:46We will look for anyone.
00:48DILG Secretary Benher Abalos
00:51fought against a young party list representative,
00:53Raul Manuel,
00:54who was caught by the police as an ordinary citizen.
00:58But the big fish is not easy to catch.
01:02Manuel was replaced by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ
01:05Executive Pastor, Apollo Kibuloy,
01:07and the exiled mayor of Bambantarlac, Alice Guo.
01:11Until now, they have not been able to find anyone.
01:15When it comes to big personalities,
01:18it's hard to arrest the PNP.
01:22But when it comes to ordinary people,
01:24it's easy to catch them.
01:27So, we really need to fix this, Madam Chair.
01:31And we should not let it go.
01:34We are continuously investigating
01:36and we are continuously tracking
01:37not only the Philippine National Police
01:39but all the agencies involved,
01:41especially the Bureau of Immigration
01:43and of course, our Intelligence Unit
01:45from the National Security Agency.
01:48This issue was highlighted
01:49in the face of DILG and its attached agencies
01:52in the House Committee on Appropriations' hearing
01:55for their proposed funds for the next year.
01:59Compared to 2024,
02:01the expected funds from DILG for 2025
02:05are higher, at Php 281.3 billion.
02:08The congressmen called for the agencies
02:12to look into the various issues in their hands.
02:15Under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology,
02:18the funds were added by the judges
02:21for the food of persons deprived of liberty.
02:24I hope it will be improved
02:26because safety, health,
02:29when it hurts, it's a bigger problem.
02:31We have a request of Php 100 from Php 70
02:37and also from Php 15
02:40to their medical, to the medicines,
02:44Php 230.
02:45And I hope and pray that all of you here
02:48would support us.
02:49Aside from this,
02:50the calamity that the country is facing
02:53is also being pointed out by the camera
02:55that DILG has a different approach
02:57to the flood problem.
02:59For the last 4 or 5 months,
03:01we've been going around every Saturday
03:03at 5 in the morning.
03:05We didn't do anything but clean.
03:07It's more of changing the attitude about garbage.
03:11Because garbage is the number one
03:13that is polluting our canals.
03:17The big ticket flood control
03:19is with the Department of Public Works.
03:21If DILG agrees,
03:23they will strengthen the programs
03:26for Environmental Protection
03:27and Disaster Resiliency,
03:29Peace and Order, and LGU Capacity.
03:32Next week, the House Committee on Appropriations
03:36will continue the discussion on the budget
03:38of other government agencies.
03:40Mela Las Moras for Pambansang TV
