00:00So, here come the Diamondbacks, here come the Padres, and the Dodgers assume they're
00:08going to get healthy and pull away from everybody.
00:10Grande, Brownman, fellas, glad you guys are here.
00:15What a day yesterday, and I got a lot of stuff on my mind for today.
00:19How we doing?
00:20Pulling away, huh?
00:22I don't see that happening anymore.
00:23I think the, listen, I think they got a real race on their hands.
00:28I don't think there's any sort of pulling away, whether anybody catches them is different,
00:31but I don't see a pulling away happening for the Dodgers at all, because no matter who
00:35gets healthy, that pitching staff still has issues, and they will continue to have issues
00:40for the rest of the season.
00:42What makes you say pull away?
00:44So yesterday, I was on the radio up in LA on 710, and Jeff Passan from ESPN came on.
00:50Oh, the Skeins lover?
00:53Wow.
00:54I guess so.
00:55Is he known as a Skeins lover?
00:57Oh my goodness.
00:59No, I don't think he's tweeted about Jackson Merrill, but I've seen all his tweets about
01:01Paul Skeins.
01:02Yeah.
01:03He's a Skeiner.
01:04Is that the deal?
01:05Well, I just, I was talking to Passan yesterday, and I'm like, listen, I think that the Padres
01:08and the Diamondbacks are legitimate contenders to take the division from the Dodgers.
01:13By the way, as amazing as it's been that the Dodgers going into yesterday's games had the
01:18best record in baseball tied, I want to say, with the Yankees and the Guardians, it is
01:24fascinating how the Dodgers have been able to have the season they're having, given the
01:29injuries that they've had.
01:32But I still think, I mean, I'm looking at what the Padres are doing right now.
01:35And here's the thing, as I look into the weekend, the Padres have got, their schedule has become
01:40very favorable.
01:41They've got a lot of off days along the way.
01:44Today's one of them.
01:45Then they'll play Colorado, which, you know, the hardest series on the schedule.
01:48Well, I mean, it seems to be the one that always gives the Padres the most trouble.
01:54But Arizona just got them for three.
01:56So and listen, I'm looking at what the Dodgers have coming up this weekend.
01:59They've got St. Louis.
02:00So that's no easy match, you know.
02:02So I don't think that the Dodgers are going to pull away.
02:06But there is a bit of a Dodger arrogance, if you will, that when they get everybody
02:11right, when they get everybody healthy, that they're going to be who they are on paper.
02:16And that's an agreed.
02:17Well, I didn't say that.
02:18He said no.
02:19So that's an agreed that he's going to that the Dodgers are going to pull away.
02:22That's the way I recall the conversation going.
02:24No, I mean, I think I don't think that's an original thought by most people across the
02:28country.
02:29I think that that when you're looking at the Diamondbacks and the Padres, what they're
02:33doing now, I think the conversation for some reason, dude, I've been watching MLB network
02:38recently, probably because I'm actually having fun watching baseball and I don't mind watching
02:41highlights right now.
02:43And the general sentiment is like, you don't want to face either of these teams in the
02:46postseason like you do not.
02:49The Diamondbacks are the hottest team in baseball.
02:52What AJ Prowler did to that.
02:53This is what they're saying.
02:54What AJ Prowler did to that bullpen.
02:56Nobody wants to see in the postseason and both offensive lineups are very formidable
03:00right now.
03:01And if the Padres get to T spec, it's only going to get stronger.
03:04So that's kind of the narrative I'm seeing.
03:06I'm not really seeing that they're going to catch the Dodgers either.
03:10I don't think it's a topic.
03:13Did you just credit AJ Prowler?
03:14No, I was saying what a network, what they did.
03:18They are saying.
03:19Okay.
03:20Who is that?
03:21But so far, listen, now you look at the content of what I made today.
03:23I'm giving AJ Prowler credits of what he's done for the bullpen so far so far compared
03:28to last season and the moves he made at that trade deadline where he got, who did he get
03:33hustling?
03:34Some, some, some dude that got like two hits.
03:36He got Rich Hill, some, some other first baseman from the Marlins.
03:39He's all these names that are popping back up in my head.
03:42Like they did nothing last year and this year so far so good.
