00:00Hello everyone, in today's tutorial we will add in Home Assistant some video cameras from a DVR, well, the name is XVR-DAHUA.
00:27The principle is the same, that it is DVR, that it is XVR, that it is NVR, it does not matter.
00:34So today we will do this integration.
00:38As I wrote here, if you want to add these cameras from the DAHUA Home Assistant recorders, it is necessary to go through a few steps, neither complicated nor easy.
00:59The first step I recommend you to do is to create on the DVR a dedicated user for Home Assistant with the lowest possible rights.
01:12In my case, for example, I created a user who has only the right to watch live. That's it.
01:21Complex words give me mistakes, you see.
01:25Now, let's assume that Home Assistant is already installed on a medium, it does not matter what medium you have.
01:34You must have installed the Hux add-on.
01:38But Home Assistant, Community, something, I do not remember.
01:42If you do not have Hux installed, I have here a tutorial that you can view.
01:49It's about something else, but it will show you, among other things, how to install Hux.
01:55It's not complicated, it's a command.
01:57You look here.
02:01Now, what else needs to be done?
02:04Port 80, which is for HTTP and 554 for RTSP, must be routed correctly.
02:12If you are on the same network as the recorder, you have nothing to do with this.
02:18Good.
02:20From here, only forward.
02:24As I told you, I have Home Assistant installed, I have Hux installed.
02:30We go to Integrations.
02:32I heard another question, how do I get to Hux, if I do not like to keep it here.
02:37But if you go here to Devices and Services, you see it.
02:42Visit and you get here.
02:45We go to Integrations.
02:46We download the repository.
02:48We have it here, but I did not look for it.
02:53We download it and install it.
02:58We wait for the installation to finish.
03:04After the installation is finished, it tells us that it needs a restart.
03:13We go here.
03:14And we give a restart to Home Assistant.
03:19After the Home Assistant has been restarted, we go to Devices and Services.
03:25We add integration and write here Dahua.
03:30And now we find it.
03:32It asks us for the username.
03:41The IP address of the DVR.
03:44The IP address of the DVR.
03:49The HTTP port.
03:52And the RTSP port.
03:56Here, select which channel you want to see.
04:00Channel 0 means the first channel and so on.
04:03Channel 7 means 6 and so on.
04:08So 0 is the first channel on the DVR.
04:10From here, select what you want to integrate.
04:14I, for example, do not integrate anything.
04:17But if you want to automate based on what you see from the DVR, you can do it from here.
04:24And that's about all you need.
04:26We submit.
04:30It tells us to write a name.
04:34We'll call it Cam1.
04:36And submit.
04:38We wait.
04:41And as you can see, we have a device.
04:45We can only see the main and the sub.
04:50I mean, the live stream and the substream.
04:57Not being interested in substream in my case, for example, I can go to it and deactivate it.
05:06You have to turn on the camera.
05:07I go to Settings.
05:09You do this.
05:12Enable update.
05:13And you solved it.
05:16Now, let's assume you want to add another camera.
05:27Again.
05:38And let's say we add channel 3.
05:47Yes.
06:02It doesn't matter when you do it, you do it right.
06:05I just want to show you that it works.
06:09As you can see, here we have the substream.
06:11We go to it.
06:13We deactivate.
06:15And we only have the main stream.
06:17At the moment we have two cameras.
06:20If we look here, it tells us clearly that we have two devices.
06:25Well.
06:26Let's assume you put all the cameras you need.
06:31And you want to allocate a card here.
06:35The simplest option, from my point of view, is to go here.
06:44Go to integration.
06:45Yes.
06:46Select the device.
06:48And add to dashboard.
06:53Select.
06:55Next.
06:57Add to dashboard.
06:59Do the same with the other cameras.
07:05Yes.
07:08And here will be the part that some will probably be disappointed by.
07:13Because you will not see anything.
07:17Directly.
07:19This is not intended for such a thing.
07:22I know that there may be complicated options to solve this problem.
07:26I don't think it's the case right now.
07:29But you have them.
07:30Indeed, when you get here, just click on it and the stream will start.
07:43The same with the other channel.
07:44And so you can organize them all.
07:46That's it.
07:54So this is the method by which you can add the cameras from the Dahua DVRs to Home Assistant using HAX.
08:07Nothing complicated.
08:09I couldn't even say a word.
08:12Ok.
08:13That's about it.
08:14In the end, I would like to thank you for subscribing to the channel, for following me.
08:21Give me a like, share, subscribe.
08:24It helps me a lot.
08:25It costs you nothing.
08:28That's about it with this tutorial.
08:32I was Remus.
08:33Let's hear each other in the next tutorial.
