00:00Hello everybody, welcome back to the channel, my name's Kevin, I'm a Geek, you are watching Kevin the Geek and welcome to the second time I'm doing this episode as a weekly series.
00:11Now of course if you're not aware, we finished the British Empire with an ending that is, putting it mildly, very divisive.
00:24When I record my monthly comments video for August, when I do that at the start of September, it's going to be interesting.
00:36And I would have had a good amount of time to have some thoughts and to give you my thoughts on that, but of course we have finished with that so we're now onto the new weekly show.
00:45And if you missed it in a previous video, basically I'm doing Outnumbered all the way through August on every Friday, which basically means that we will finish Series 1.
00:57Then the first Friday in September is when we will begin with the Inbetweeners Series 2.
01:04Once I've finished that then we will have enough time to go back to Outnumbered, do Series 2, which will then pause all of my regular stuff for December.
01:13In which case I will do the first of the Outnumbered Christmas specials.
01:17Once we come back after Christmas I will do Inbetweeners Series 3 and then from there on out it will be Outnumbered until we've finished the show.
01:25And I'll probably save the last Christmas specials for next Christmas, so Christmas 2025.
01:33So there might be a little bit of a pause between the end of, I think it's 5 series for Outnumbered if I remember correctly.
01:39Series 5 and then the Christmas episode that came after that.
01:44And then the one that is coming out this coming Christmas.
01:47So that will all be done next year.
01:51But for now we're checking out episode 4 of the first series and this one is apparently called The Quiet Night Inn.
01:58So let's check out this episode.
02:03Oh, who's playing football?
02:05Oh dear.
02:09Right, I think it's going to be Ben.
02:11Surely it's got to be Ben.
02:13Come on Ben, get up.
02:15Didn't even touch you.
02:17Get up.
02:19It's a team game.
02:21Ben.
02:23You're Ben's dad.
02:26Hi, I'm Rory's dad, Steve.
02:28Ben was round our place on Sunday.
02:30He's quite a kid, isn't he?
02:32Yeah, he's quite a kid.
02:35Told us all about you.
02:37Didn't he?
02:38Oh yes, he's obviously very proud.
02:41So tell me, what's Gordon Brown really like?
02:47Just like karaoke.
02:49I'm feeling lucky.
02:52That was me as a kid.
02:54Alexa, pack up your things now because your mummy rang and she said she's going to be here in 10 minutes.
03:01That was 45 minutes ago.
03:03Oh dear.
03:05What should we do now?
03:07Go out.
03:09Have I become invisible?
03:11Hello?
03:12Can you hear something?
03:14No.
03:15I thought there was someone over there speaking.
03:17No.
03:18I didn't hear anything.
03:19I thought it was just our imagination.
03:21Mummy's turned invisible.
03:23Mummy's turned invisible.
03:25That's enough.
03:26We can't see her.
03:28We can't see her.
03:31Oh, hi. Hi, Veronica.
03:33Yes.
03:35Yeah, I did get your email.
03:39The thing is, I probably won't be able to deal with it this evening because, well, to be honest, Pete and I had sort of promised ourselves a quiet night in.
03:52Well, you know, to have some quality adult time.
03:57You ain't going to get it, are you?
03:59Husband and wife stuff.
04:01You know what I mean.
04:03Pump in action.
04:05Well, you can probably remember what I mean.
04:09I am so sorry.
04:11No, really.
04:12I don't know why on earth he's...
04:14No problem, really. Kids do that, don't they?
04:16They lie.
04:18To be honest, both me and Cal thought it was a bit unlikely, you being an SAS-trained bodyguard.
04:24No.
04:26Try it.
04:38Don't blame the goalkeeper. It's not his fault. Come on.
04:46Come on, Martin.
04:48Please don't cry.
04:51Please don't cry.
04:53It's not a problem.
05:05Uh-oh, is this another lie?
05:10I want to know what the lie is now.
05:12Why is he so brave?
05:20Have you tried ringing Mummy?
05:22Yes, I have, but it keeps going to voicemail.
05:25She's probably left her mobile somewhere.
05:28She's always doing that.
05:30My Daddy says she must have a brain made out of cheese.
05:35Swiss cheese, full of holes.
05:37Mummies have a lot on their plate, don't they?
05:40Squishy runny cheese, that's what mummies have for brains.
05:43That's what Daddy says to me.
05:45Right.
05:48Do you need some help, darling?
05:50No, it's all right. It's maths.
05:52But I've got A's in maths, I'll have you know.
05:55You did old maths and we're doing new maths, so it's different.
05:59It's just a question, it's just badly worded.
06:02Well, let's have a look, shall we?
06:06What's the difference between old and new maths?
06:18Right, that really is badly worded.
06:23Although, as I do say, you know, old and new maths,
06:27because I was a teacher, I trained to be a primary school teacher
06:31and I taught a Year 6 class
06:35and we had some kids that were very advanced
06:39to the level that they were taking when they were doing their SATs,
06:43they weren't just doing Levels 3, 4 and 5, as most kids will do,
06:47but they were going for the next level up, the Level 6 maths,
06:50which is something that I actually did when I was at school,
06:53because maths was always my strongest subject.
06:55And this kid, he came up with this written method
07:01of doing any kind of multiplication
07:04and he was doing like six-figure numbers by six-figure numbers,
07:10writing them down and working out what the answers were.
07:13It was such a weird way, I can't remember what it was or how he did it,
07:17it was like this really long boxing with loads of lines in it.
07:20It was so confusing and I tested it and he was getting it absolutely correct.
07:24So whatever it was, it definitely worked.
07:27So I guess, in a way, that's probably new maths.
07:31I am just so sorry.
07:33Please don't give it another thought.
07:35I mean, some boys just like to fib, don't they?
07:39Yeah, but I mean... Honestly, it's fine.
07:44But you organised a collection. Yes, but it's all right,
07:47because I can give everyone their money back,
07:49so it's really not a problem.
07:51Hiya, Katie, what's the score?
07:53It's 8-0 to Ben.
07:57Oof.
08:00Plenty of that one was a bit controversial.
08:04You're Ben's dad, aren't you? Yeah.
08:06Oh, God.
08:08Oh, God!
08:09Has he? Well, he would have made it all up, OK?
08:11It's just something that he does.
08:13Whatever story he has told you, it will be a lie.
08:15What did he tell you?
08:17He said you're a history teacher.
08:19Oh.
08:20That bastard.
08:22No, that one's true.
08:24PHONE RINGS
08:27Hiya.
08:28I wonder what the traction was for.
08:30About five minutes, I should think.
08:32Can you fetch some milk on your way back?
08:35Yep, sure, yeah.
08:37How's Operation Early Night going?
08:39Has Jamie picked up Alexa yet?
08:42Oh, um, she's on her way.
08:46No, she's not.
08:48Five or ten minutes, she'll be home in about 20,
08:50and then we can pack the kids off to bed.
08:52Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
08:54After that, let's break out the...
08:56Oh, my God, did you see that?
08:58Oh, my God, sorry, I need to see that one again.
09:02Sorry, I'm going to watch the background stuff,
09:05because I was focusing on Pete there.
09:07I completely missed what was in the background
09:09until right at the very last moment.
09:11Can you fetch some milk on your way back?
09:13Yep, sure, yeah.
09:15There you go, the two dads in the background,
09:17the yellow and the blue, just watch them
09:19if you didn't realise what was happening.
09:21Operation Early Night going.
09:23Has Jamie picked up Alexa yet?
09:26Oh, um, she's on her way.
09:30Excellent. Well, five or ten minutes,
09:32she'll be home in about 20,
09:34and then we can pack the kids off to bed.
09:36Oh, my God!
09:38After that, let's break out the champagne and the oysters
09:40and put the rose petals in them.
09:42It's just like giving a little potion that nuts at him.
09:44...Leslie Phillips.
09:46Can I...
09:48Can I hear swearing?
09:50Yeah, probably.
09:52They're playing me out of position.
09:54I should be playing in the hole.
09:56Why didn't anybody pass to me?
09:58Why didn't anybody pass to me?
10:00I'm easily better than them.
10:02Yeah, well, perhaps if you didn't just shout,
10:04Why doesn't anyone pass to me?
10:06I'm easily better than you.
10:08You'd get beaten by a bunch of potatoes.
10:10I should be captain.
10:12Cha-cha.
10:14Now, why don't you just go in
10:16and pop your pyjamas on?
10:18I'm going to play club penguin.
10:20You might as well change into your pyjamas.
10:22Kids do what they want to do.
10:24Daddy, daddy, daddy!
10:26I love you as much as cats.
10:28Cats?
10:30The musical or the animal?
10:32Alexa, how are you?
10:34I'm fine, thank you.
10:36Is your mummy on her way to collect you?
10:38I doubt it.
10:40Girls, don't start any complicated games.
10:42Girls, don't start any complicated games.
10:44Jane's late picking her up again, then.
10:46Only an hour and a quarter.
10:48Two hours off her personal best.
10:50Two hours off her personal best.
10:52How's the match?
10:54Great.
10:56You really should segregate the home and away supporters.
10:58Not again.
11:00Again?
11:02At least Ben should sleep well tonight.
11:04Do you reckon he's still totally wired?
11:06He's gone for hours yet.
11:08I don't know why I looked up that.
11:10Quiet jigsaw?
11:12He's stuck on his maths.
11:14New maths, is it?
11:16Perhaps Daddy could help you.
11:18Yeah, OK.
11:24No idea.
11:26Do you know, I always think it's better if the pupil works it out for themselves,
11:28Do you know, I always think it's better if the pupil works it out for themselves,
11:30because that way they won't...
11:32Funny that.
11:34What did I say about starting any new games?
11:36But it's rude to leave your guest alone.
11:38You can't suddenly change your mind now.
11:40That's what you told me.
11:42Actually, I can't change my mind now.
11:44I want you to get changed so that Alexa's ready to go.
11:46I want you to get changed so that Alexa's ready to go.
11:48You're not supposed to forget your mum.
11:50Look, Alexa's mummy will be here soon.
11:52She's probably just, you know, stuck in a traffic jam or something.
11:54She's probably just, you know, stuck in a traffic jam or something.
11:56Cheesy brains.
11:58Daddy said that mummy had a cheesy brain.
12:00If Daddy still lived with mummy, he'll be a crazy man.
12:02If Daddy still lived with mummy, he'll be a crazy man.
12:04Mind you, mummy said he is a crazy man.
12:06That's why sometimes she has to call the police.
12:08That's why sometimes she has to call the police.
12:10Let's play devil's...
12:12Dance!
12:14Come on!
12:16I'm having a chocolate.
12:18Ben, I've just found this letter,
12:20and I want you to be a really grown-up boy
12:22and run up to the post box and post it for me.
12:24I want you to run all the way there and all the way back, yeah?
12:26I want you to run all the way there and all the way back, yeah?
12:28OK.
12:30It's only fallout from Karen's party. Any lawsuits?
12:32I don't want to talk about it.
12:34But I had a real go at those bloody party people.
12:36But I had a real go at those bloody party people.
12:38I mean, I specifically asked for Funtime Freddy No. 3,
12:40I mean, I specifically asked for Funtime Freddy No. 3,
12:42and they sent Funtime Freddy No. 11, who's useless,
12:44and everybody knows that,
12:46and he's clearly got a drink problem.
12:48His hands were shaking so much
12:50he could barely make the balloon animals.
12:52Do you know, I don't think I've ever seen kids go quite that berserk.
12:54Do you know, I don't think I've ever seen kids go quite that berserk.
12:56I know, and at the school gate this morning,
12:58Brad's mum couldn't look me in the eye.
13:00I saw Brad at football. He looks OK.
13:02I saw Brad at football. He looks OK.
13:04Yeah, because she's combed his fringe over the wound.
13:06Yeah, because she's combed his fringe over the wound.
13:08Well, at least he's now got a healthy respect
13:10for first floor windows and gravity.
13:12It's all part of the learning curve.
13:14Learning plummet.
13:16Hello?
13:18Oh, hi, Jane.
13:20No, no, no, Alex is fine.
13:22You'll be with us shortly.
13:24How shortly, shortly?
13:26How shortly, shortly?
13:28You're just leaving your own house.
13:30Well, that's going to take more than ten minutes at this time, I tell you.
13:32Jane, it's rush hour, isn't it?
13:34No, no, no, no sweat.
13:36No sweat.
13:38We'll just see you when we see you.
13:40She's a bum.
13:42She's a bum.
13:44I do a lot of driving currently around London.
13:46I do a lot of driving currently around London.
13:48My word.
13:50If you get stuck in that traffic,
13:52it is the worst feeling.
13:54And especially on a day like today.
13:56I mean, I'm actually recording this
13:58at half past eleven at night
14:00because honestly,
14:02today has been that hot.
14:04It has just been abysmal.
14:06I literally got home from being out
14:08in the car all day
14:10with basically no air con.
14:12It was grim.
14:14It was grim.
14:18Gosh, that was fast.
14:20Do you know what?
14:22I just found another letter that I meant to post.
14:24Could you be really, really,
14:26really grown up and run back to the post box
14:28and post it for me?
14:30Okay. Running.
14:32All the way.
14:34Can I watch Little Witter?
14:36No.
14:38Run, Forrest, run.
14:40I didn't actually put anything in that envelope.
14:42I know.
14:44Nicely done.
14:46I didn't know anybody passed to me.
14:48I'm best player. I mean,
14:50Arsenal wouldn't win against stupid old Tottenham
14:52if Van Persie didn't pass to me.
14:54Is Jake alright? Yeah, why?
14:56I think John Popping did the toilet.
14:58He's probably got a chippy tummy.
15:00And another thing, I'm the fastest player
15:02so everybody should pass to me.
15:04Oh, you're not that fast. Yes, I am.
15:06I bet you one pound
15:08that you can't run up and down the top stairs
15:10200 times in under
15:12five minutes.
15:14Of course I could.
15:16One pound.
15:18Nice.
15:20Nicely done.
15:22Reverse psychology.
15:24Love it.
15:26Wear him out.
15:28I want the house.
15:30I want the house, you crazy man.
15:32I paid for it
15:34so it's my house.
15:36It's my house too
15:38but I want it for myself.
15:40Come on, Jane.
15:42Bloody hell.
15:44Yeah, and when she arrives
15:46and starts her bleeding heart routine, don't get involved.
15:48Just give her a kid back and boot her out the door.
15:50I feel sorry for her.
15:52She's having such a difficult time.
15:54Well, I'll do it. I'll deal with her.
15:56Right. You won't be rude, will you?
15:58I won't be rude. I'll be truthful.
16:00I'll say, Jane, I can't talk.
16:02It's getting late and I'm on a promise.
16:04What promise?
16:06Don't be nosy.
16:08Are you all right?
16:10Have you got tummy trouble?
16:12No, I'm fine.
16:14How's school?
16:16It's school.
16:18It was cool.
16:20It was school. School is school.
16:22School is school.
16:24Don't you owe us an apology?
16:26Statement of regret.
16:28I have no need to apologise.
16:30The head made that completely clear.
16:32The offence I may inadvertently have caused Kamal
16:34by implying that he is fat, brackets,
16:36which he is.
16:38Not very conciliatory.
16:40Yeah.
16:42You see, there's no getting away from it,
16:44but no one's admitting it.
16:46It's the elephant in the room.
16:48He, he is the elephant in the room.
16:50You're going to have to back down eventually, love.
16:52I've got nothing to back down from.
16:54You're going to have to tone it down.
16:56I'm not going to tone that down.
16:58I'm going to send that as it is.
17:00Don't get involved.
17:02Don't get involved.
17:04Hello there.
17:06We'd like to ask you,
17:08do you think that man alone can solve all the problems
17:10in this world?
17:12Yes.
17:14What's that?
17:16We'd like to ask you,
17:20Is that, erm,
17:22Desmond's wife?
17:24From Desmond's?
17:26I've probably said that a couple of times
17:28with a couple of different black actresses,
17:30but she, she really does look like she, she,
17:32she could have been Desmond's wife.
17:34Do you think that man alone can solve
17:36all the problems in this world?
17:38Yes.
17:42No, you didn't.
17:44No, you cheated.
17:46No, I didn't.
17:48Yeah, you did because I was listening.
17:50You have to go up and do it again.
17:52What's that?
17:56What's this?
17:58It's a
18:00documentary about childbirth.
18:02You don't want to watch that.
18:04Oh, no. No, thank you.
18:10No, you're right, I don't.
18:14You've settled for five hundred times
18:16in ten minutes for two quid.
18:18Oh, Mum, I meant to tell you earlier, but, erm,
18:20Auntie Angela rang.
18:22When?
18:24Er, today. Which part of today?
18:26Earlier.
18:28Why can't anybody write anything down?
18:30Did she say what it was about?
18:34No.
18:36No.
18:38She may have had a problem with Grandad, you see.
18:40She's not used to looking after him.
18:42No doubt. She seems to be coping really well.
18:44She's good, isn't it?
18:46I'm going to go and watch the big telly.
18:48Well, it is good, isn't it?
18:50I mean, for all of us.
18:52Of course it's good, I know that.
18:54I do understand, you know.
18:56Understand what?
18:58Well, you've been looking after your dad for ages.
19:00Your sister breezes in and just takes over.
19:02It's only human nature that you're going to feel a bit...
19:04A bit what?
19:06Supplanted.
19:08Supplanted?
19:10Why would I feel supplanted?
19:12I don't feel supplanted.
19:14Oh, that'll be Jane.
19:16Don't get involved.
19:18Alexa!
19:20Here I am, late again.
19:22What am I like?
19:24You must be so fed up with me.
19:26Not at all. Alexa!
19:30She's probably hiding a little terror.
19:32She always does that.
19:34Alexa, come on!
19:36Nice evening.
19:38Yeah.
19:40Alexa!
19:42Get up to her.
19:48I got lost on the way over here.
19:50Can you believe that?
19:52I've been here hundreds of times.
19:54Yes, you have.
19:56And always late, clearly.
19:58I always confuse the two roundabouts.
20:04Oh, this is awkward.
20:08Oh, no.
20:10Do you want to come in for a drink?
20:12No.
20:14No, I can't stop.
20:16Good.
20:18Thank you, God.
20:20All right, then.
20:26Yeah, you get to that point, don't you?
20:28Where you're just like...
20:30I don't want to say it.
20:32I don't want to say it.
20:34Here it comes. Don't say it.
20:36Do you want a drink?
20:38Everyone does it.
20:40There's an infinite amount of time
20:42where you know
20:44you don't want to say it,
20:46but then that time elapses
20:48and it just comes out of you.
20:50Hi, Jane.
20:52Hi, Pete. Sorry to be late.
20:54No problem.
20:56So what's here to be? A glass of wine?
20:58A cup of tea would be great.
21:00Oh, God. She's not going to be out for a drink, is she?
21:02You wouldn't believe the drink I've had.
21:04It's been murder.
21:06I'll hurry the girls along.
21:08Oh, thanks, Pete.
21:10No, it's been hell.
21:12But I won't bore you with the details.
21:14Right. Good.
21:16I hear the school's... I mean, the man is a total bastard.
21:18I know what he's doing.
21:20He's trying to push me
21:22over the edge.
21:24I'm sorry.
21:26Don't get involved. I'm really sorry, Sue.
21:28Don't get involved, Sue.
21:30It's not your problem.
21:32Oh.
21:34Are you silly? Come on.
21:38It all...
21:40It all started up again last month.
21:42Remember what I told you
21:44about not being able to get cash
21:46back out at Waitrose?
21:48But in the meantime,
21:50I don't know what he expects us to live off.
21:52I mean, will you know what it's like?
21:54Food and clothes and...
21:56I mean, he seems to have enough money
21:58to take Cindy to Portofino.
22:00Where the hell is Portofino, anyway?
22:02I don't know. Portugal?
22:04It's Italy, I think.
22:06So he can afford to take her to Italy.
22:08Probably paying for it from one of the five accounts
22:10I didn't know he had.
22:12And, you know, the worst thing is
22:14I've found out
22:16he's taken my air miles.
22:18Why are you getting me to bed so early?
22:20I mean, it wasn't like outside yesterday.
22:22Yeah, but look, it's not like now. Look.
22:24Now, what do you want to read? How about this?
22:26A Cow That Wouldn't Move.
22:28It's Moo.
22:30Oh, yeah. A Cow That Wouldn't Move.
22:32Uh, yeah?
22:34What's Snail House?
22:36Stale House? No. Can't have Stale House.
22:38Why not?
22:40It's very long. Very, very long. Not too long.
22:42How about this?
22:44What's that one? Look at that one there.
22:46That one's called Baa.
22:48Baa. Yeah, really funny.
22:50I want Snail House.
22:52Do you know, I don't think it's there.
22:54It's right there.
22:56Do you know, I don't think we've got it.
22:58It's right there.
23:00Oh, there it is. What luck.
23:02Abi, he says he didn't start seeing her
23:04until after we split up.
23:06Yeah, bullshit. Sorry.
23:08Anyway, you don't want to hear about all this.
23:10No, we don't.
23:12Alexa, come on.
23:14You've taken up enough of these good people's time.
23:16Where are your shoes?
23:18I think they're in the hall.
23:20Well, fine then. Quick, quick.
23:22Can I just ask you,
23:24are you happy with the school?
23:26No. Right.
23:28No, it's just, Alexa's been struggling with her reading
23:30and no-one's tested her for dyslexia.
23:32Can you believe that?
23:34Is Alexa still here?
23:36Night-night.
23:38Alright, come on.
23:42What is that doing there?
23:44Come on.
23:56Phone ringing.
24:06Sue, it's for you.
24:08At the school that Sarah's kids are at,
24:10they're routinely screaming for dyslexia and dyspraxia.
24:12Sue, it's for you.
24:14Listen, I'll leave you to it.
24:16Alright, it's for you.
24:18Who is it?
24:20It's Angela.
24:22Oh, hi, Angela.
24:24How's it going, Jane?
24:26Yes, finally.
24:28Bye, Jane.
24:30I've done 50 of these already.
24:32Good, just another 150 to go, then.
24:36Bye.
24:38Oh, yeah, bye. See you.
24:40Sorry, Angela.
24:42What do you say, Alexa?
24:44Thank you for having me.
24:46Do you know what? You are very welcome.
24:48You can come again as long as your mother isn't late.
24:50Oh, crap.
24:54Jane, this is Sue's sister.
24:56Angela. Hi.
24:58Which is a coincidence, because Sue's on the phone to her friend, Angela.
25:00Oh, hi.
25:02This is Alexa.
25:04Hi, Alexa. That's a pretty name.
25:06Jane and Alexa are just leaving.
25:08Oh, that is a beautiful necklace.
25:10Oh, thank you.
25:12Do you know, I saw one just like that in Seville a couple of weeks ago.
25:14Oh, I love Spain. So do I.
25:16The real Spain. Oh, absolutely.
25:18Just a couple of miles away from the coast.
25:20Have you been to the Alhambra? Yes, isn't it fabulous?
25:22God damn it.
25:24God damn it.
25:26Bloody hell, Angela.
25:28He's completely pathetic.
25:30He said he didn't start seeing this Cindy girl until after...
25:32Oh, no.
25:34We've already been over this.
25:36Anyway, hark at me. Stop talking, Jane.
25:38Yes, stop talking, Jane.
25:40Thanks again, Sue. Bye.
25:42Bye.
25:44Bye.
25:46Bye, Alexa.
25:48Bye.
25:50I'll get us a drink, can you, Angela?
25:52No, no, I'm not stopping.
25:54You all say that.
25:56No, I've got Dad waiting at home. I'm taking him out for an Indian tonight.
25:58He doesn't like spicy food.
26:00When we tried to take him out for an Indian, he just ordered egg and chips.
26:02Yeah, well, he's definitely up for a curry tonight.
26:04Anyway, I just popped in for the key.
26:06The key?
26:08Yeah.
26:10Didn't Jake give you the message?
26:12Spare key to Dad's place?
26:14There's stars over the moon.
26:16There's stars over the moon.
26:18There's stars
26:20very high in the sky.
26:22There's stars
26:24over the moon.
26:26Let's go
26:28to the judges.
26:30Let's have Simon first.
26:32What do you think, Simon?
26:34It wasn't that interesting.
26:36And also it was
26:38awful.
26:40Canny impression.
26:42Now let's go to the second judge.
26:44I think
26:46that that was very, very good.
26:48And I think that
26:50that was
26:52almost fantastic.
26:54Now let's go to
26:56Andrew Lloyd Webber. What do you think?
26:58Andrew Lloyd Webber?
27:00Well, it wasn't the right song.
27:02You've got a nice voice, but it wasn't the right song.
27:04I mean, the thing is
27:06that Dad and I should each have
27:08our own key, really.
27:10And you don't need the spare anymore.
27:12Not now that I'm living, I mean,
27:14after Dad. I suppose not.
27:16And I could get you another one cut for the...
27:18Sure. You should get another couple cut, really.
27:20Trent will need some when he comes to join you.
27:22Good point.
27:24I'll get a whole batch cut.
27:26Well, I don't want to keep his lordship
27:28waiting. Catch you later.
27:30Yeah. Bye.
27:34Right.
27:36Quality adult time. Dad, I think
27:38you've got an email on your computer. Oh, God.
27:40And I've been moved from your headmaster.
27:42What joy. Oh, God. I'll read that tomorrow.
27:46You could probably do with an early night, couldn't you?
27:48Why?
27:50Well, you know, first couple of weeks
27:52at secondary school, it's tiring, isn't it?
27:54Is it?
27:56Yes.
27:58Did you know Benji's mum and dad are splitting up?
28:00No. Really?
28:02I thought they looked really happy, actually.
28:04Oh, God. I'm really surprised.
28:06So a couple
28:08can look good from the outside,
28:10but
28:12they don't feel good from the inside.
28:14So they break up.
28:16Is that right?
28:20Minibar!
28:22Now, you've done very well
28:24to get this far,
28:26but I'm very, very, very,
28:28very sorry
28:30to have to tell you that
28:32you've got over to the next
28:34zone!
28:36Yay!
28:38She's got it down to a T.
28:40How can you tell? A couple can seem really happily married
28:42from the outside, but then...
28:44If you're worried about me and Mummy getting divorced,
28:46don't, because, no,
28:48we're never ever going to split up.
28:50Never. Yeah, don't say never ever.
28:52So you might.
28:54No, we are never ever going to get...
28:56You just said you might. No, but I think it's important
28:58that you tell children the truth, and the truth is you can't say
29:00never ever, ever.
29:02There's no current plans
29:04to get divorced.
29:06So you're saying you might?
29:08We're just saying, you know, sometimes these things do happen,
29:10but we can fairly confidently
29:12say to you that's not going to happen
29:14with us. We love each other.
29:16Yes, we do love each other, and sometimes, unfortunately,
29:18love just isn't enough for some couples.
29:20I've even heard you say...
29:22Love isn't enough for some couples.
29:24Well, it isn't, clearly, for some people.
29:26But love is the basis of the whole thing, isn't it?
29:28Well, yeah, it is, but, you know...
29:30But you're arguing now! We're not arguing.
29:32But, no, they're having a debate.
29:34What about if there's no money in the back?
29:36You can't be together with no love.
29:38Anyway, the upshot is
29:40is that you may hear us
29:42arguing, but it doesn't
29:44mean anything.
29:46Well, it might mean that your dad's done something stupid.
29:50I'm going to put my knackers on.
29:52I'm going to go to bed.
29:54OK. Good night, fella.
29:56See you in the morning.
29:58Yeah.
30:00I knew he was bottling something up.
30:02I know, but I told you he wasn't being bullied,
30:04didn't I?
30:06Do you know, that is such a relief.
30:08This vision of him with his head
30:10being flushed down the toilet.
30:12You worry too much.
30:16Does that ever happen to people?
30:18I've only ever heard that in stories and TV and movies.
30:20Your head being flushed down the toilet.
30:32Take you up to bed.
30:34They need to do that every day.
30:36They literally need to do that every single day.
30:42I mean, I do a similar thing with my nephew.
30:44You know, like that.
30:46It's that way of making them think it's their idea.
30:48Like the way I get my nephew, you know,
30:50to go to bed or to, um,
30:52you know,
30:54to go upstairs for a bath.
30:56We have this thing, and we've been doing it for months now.
30:58It's like, I'm going to race you.
31:00I'm going to beat you.
31:02And of course, the moment I say that,
31:04he can be outside, he can be on his trampoline,
31:06he can be doing whatever.
31:08The moment I say that, bang, everything's dropped,
31:10and he rushes.
31:12And of course, he will be dead set on getting there first.
31:14But of course, you have to let him win.
31:16Otherwise, he's going to start boarding the house down.
31:18So, yeah,
31:20I'd rather let him win and him getting a false sense
31:22of idea about winning
31:24than have to deal with him really, really crying.
31:26Because, yeah,
31:28I can't be bothered when he's not my kid, you know?
31:30SIREN
31:32SIGHS
31:34SIGHS
31:36I made that last thing.
31:40Treasure it.
31:42Ain't going to last long.
31:44Especially not with that door open.
31:46Do you mind if we forget about the sex?
31:48Oh, could we?
31:50Yeah.
31:52You see Judge John Deed there?
31:54Yeah.
31:56He's arguing over a case where the prosecution
31:58barrister's his ex-wife
32:00and the defence barrister's his girlfriend.
32:02Is that allowed?
32:04Yeah, he's a maverick.
32:06And he's shagging the expert witness.
32:08Right.
32:10Oh, I've...
32:12I've done the sums, by the way.
32:16You know, on our world trip idea, I've done the sums.
32:18You see, we could rent a house.
32:20I could do some teaching along the way.
32:22It's all, you know, it's all perfectly possible.
32:24Do you mind if I look at it tomorrow, only mentally?
32:26I'm a bit...
32:28No, no, no, no, that's fine.
32:30Only...
32:32don't take too long about it
32:34because I have a very rare blood disease.
32:36LAUGHTER
32:38Ben's been telling people all about it.
32:42Why does he do it?
32:44Well, luckily it doesn't stop me
32:46guarding Gordon Brown or owning a lion.
32:48LAUGHTER
32:50Do you think he's normal?
32:52I think he's within the bounds of normal.
32:56Just right up at the end near abnormal.
33:00When was the last time we had a conversation
33:02that wasn't about the children?
33:04Good question.
33:06Could have one now.
33:08How would you solve the Palestine problem?
33:10Oh, God!
33:12Oh, God! That's so relevant right now!
33:14Oh, my word!
33:16I'll solve it the mum's way.
33:18I'd say to Hamas and the Israelis,
33:20I'm not interested in who started it.
33:26Would you like to reconsider?
33:28Oh!
33:34PHONE RINGS
33:36Oh, God! Learn to not block the phone!
33:38Who's it going to be?
33:40Veronica? No, Dad.
33:42Someone from India who can save us lots of money.
33:46Hello?
33:48Hello, Mrs Thompson?
33:50It's Jake's form teacher.
33:52Oh, a bit late on that.
33:54Yeah, well, we had noticed that Jake was a bit subdued
33:56at the moment, yeah.
33:58But I think we know why that is, though,
34:00because a friend of his, his parents have split up
34:02and he's...
34:06Oh.
34:08I see.
34:12What kind of bullying?
34:14Oh!
34:18Oh!
34:22Yeah.
34:24Damn!
34:28Well, that's going to do it
34:30for this latest episode of
34:32About Numbers.
34:34It's kind of like
34:36some of the other shows that
34:38it's hard to give a really good round-up
34:40at the end of an episode because it is...
34:42It really does feel like
34:44it's an ongoing thing, you know, you've got the
34:46things about the, you know,
34:48Jake's pretty much now confirmed
34:50bullying thing.
34:52Angela and
34:54Sue and their dad.
34:56Ben being...
34:58Ben?
35:00Ben being a neurodivergent?
35:02Ben being a psychopath?
35:04Who knows what label
35:06you want to put on him.
35:10Yeah.
35:12I...
35:14I think that this show...
35:16You guys have made a
35:18really smart choice, I think, in choosing this
35:20one to be one of the next weekly shows
35:22because there's something
35:24very wholesome about it
35:26and at the same time
35:28it's...
35:34It just feels
35:36a real show.
35:38I don't know if that makes sense. It feels like it could
35:40almost be a documentary
35:42and it could literally be like a fly on the wall
35:44kind of thing. Some of the conversations that the kids are having
35:46it feels so natural and that's
35:48I think because of the semi-improvisational
35:50nature of the show.
35:52I think
35:54you know, the
35:56storylines that are happening
35:58for the adults, like
36:00trying to have a quiet night in, you know, having
36:02parents turn up late to pick up their
36:04kids from your...
36:06you know, work problems. All this stuff
36:08is just really
36:10natural and that I think is
36:12what I really like about this show
36:14and it happens to be incredibly
36:16funny as well.
36:18And it is very serious
36:20and dark at times
36:22when it needs to be. So yeah, loving
36:24this show. I really
36:26really really am. So well done
36:28and thank you to everyone
36:30who voted for this one to be one of the next
36:32weekly shows. Remember, the Inbetweeners will be
36:34kind of interspersed
36:36between the series and then of course
36:38next year will be, you know, pretty much
36:40series, I think, two to
36:42five.
36:44So that should probably be about half
36:46of the year or so I would probably imagine with
36:48that one. But let me know your thoughts
36:50on this one. Hopefully this is going
36:52to be on YouTube because the first two episodes, they were
36:54fine for YouTube. The third
36:56one, which at the time of me recording this
36:58isn't out yet, but
37:00I've uploaded it
37:02and where it was blocked
37:04in the same way that the first two were
37:06they haven't yet unblocked it.
37:08So fingers crossed I'll get that one
37:10unblocked in time for when it goes out. Otherwise
37:12it may have to be a daily motion video. This one
37:14of course I will have to see
37:16when I try to upload it. But fingers crossed
37:18it's going to be a YouTube video and
37:20everything's going to be fine. But that's going to do it
37:22for today. So thank you so very much for watching.
37:24For now, my name's Kevin.
37:26I am a geek and you've been watching Kevin
37:28the Geek. Goodbye.
