PCO says Parañaque Spillway Project to help address massive flooding in Metro Manila

00:00The Presidential Communications Office, or PCO, said the Paranaque Spillway project,

00:05one of the infrastructure projects of the Marcos administration,

00:09will greatly help in addressing the massive flooding in Metro Manila.

00:12According to PCO Assistant Secretary Joey Villarama,

00:16the project will connect the Laguna Lake and Manila Bay.

00:20This is where the excess water collected in Metro Manila will be dumped,

00:24as well as the floods coming down from the Sierra Madre.

00:27According to the Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH,

00:32the project costs Php 90 billion, including design study, engineering, permits, land,

00:39relocation, as well as the construction of facilities,

00:42materials, environmental management protection, among others.

00:57in terms of flooding.
