When asked whether it is right for India to grant asylum to Sheikh Hasina, Indian Overseas Congress Chief Sam Pitroda replied, "That is for India to decide, and it's up to Indian foreign policy experts to make that determination. We have a good relationship with Bangladesh, so I think something should be worked out that satisfies everyone—Bangladesh's government, the Indian government, and Sheikh Hasina. We don’t want any further disturbances. It's important for Bangladesh to return to a normal situation where peace prevails, people can focus on their work, and the economy functions as it has been. If Sheikh Hasina needs to stay in India for a while, then that’s okay"

00:00is for India to decide. That is for Indian foreign policy experts to decide.
00:06But we have a good relationship with Bangladesh. I think something should be worked out where
00:11everybody is happy. Bangladesh government is happy. Indian government is happy. And
00:18Sheikh Hasina also has a way to move on. We don't want any further disturbance.
00:32It is in the interest of Bangladesh and India and all the neighbours
00:38to make sure that Bangladesh gets back to normal situation as soon as possible,
00:45where peace will prevail, people will get on to their work,
00:51economy will function the way it has been functioning. And in the process, there is no violence.
01:02So if Sheikh Hasina has to be in India for a while, I'm sure
01:05it will be okay and people will work things out. I have confidence.
