Bridgnorth family face being homeless because of issues with wheelchair access.

00:00Hi, my name's Sam Davis, this is my husband Trev and this is my son George.
00:07We live in our lovely home behind us in Bridge North which unfortunately we are having to
00:11leave by the end of September due to our landlord selling the house.
00:16We have sought help from Shropshire Council to ask for them to help us find a accommodation
00:21that's suitable for my disability.
00:24Unfortunately we have endured months and months of battles with the council due to them not
00:29being willing to listen to my point of view and for them to put all wheelchair users
00:36into one group instead of assessing individual clients' needs, obviously this really really
00:43needs to change.
00:44At the end of the day we just want to find a home for our son, for our family, close
00:50to our work, for our son's school and things really really need to change for disabled
00:56people, especially younger disabled people who are not old, who do not require age-limited
01:04properties.
01:05It's incredibly difficult and the council are not willing to listen to us and continue
01:10to discriminate against my disability.
