Sui Watts has just arrived back from the European Championships in the United Kingdom

00:00Hi my name is Janet and this is Sui and we've just come back from the European

00:05Championships in UK in Winchester and Sui did amazing she was on the Australian

00:13team of four riders there were eight riders sent and she was named on the

00:18team and she got a second so the Australian team came second it consisted

00:25of Andrew Driffield who is the other person? Sarah. Oh Sarah she was there and

00:30then you rode as an individual too didn't you? Yes mum. Yeah and you got what

00:37did you get as an individual? Second. Second you got second so she came home

00:45with three medals and lots of rosettes but Sui would really like to thank

00:51everybody that supported her. Thank you Sarah. Especially the people of the Manning

00:58Valley and the equestrian community she's been lucky enough to get

01:04sponsorship from Lord Tavener's and she over the years Blue Medal Equestrian

01:12have supported Sui, Equestrian Australia and Pony Clubs and Equestrian New

01:17South Wales. Our amazing coach Nell Marshman who's very talented. I'm Nell

01:23Marshman I'm Sui's coach I've been Sui's coach for about 16 years and it's been a

01:29delight to teach her she inspires me I really enjoy teaching Sui because she

01:37presents different challenges teaching people with physical and intellectual

01:41disabilities is something that I'm very passionate about. It means having to

01:47adjust your training while still working within the perimeters of good coaching

01:52and to watch Sui progress through all the levels and to go ahead and her

01:57happiness makes me very happy too. Good job.

02:03Sui's been very blessed to be able to do lots of things haven't you? Yes mum. And

02:10show what she can achieve not what she can't. On a very special day where are we

02:16going? To Government House? Yes mum. And what what are you going to get from the

02:24Governor-General? What are you going to get? A Australian Sports Medal aren't you?

02:36So for winning a gold for Australia in the Global Games in Vichy France last

02:44year the team the three members are all getting the Australian Sports Medal

02:50which is just amazing from a young child that a young baby that Australia wasn't

02:57so happy about becoming a resident because of her disability to now

03:03actually riding for Australia and to have the support of the Australian

03:09community to back her in to fulfill her dreams.
