00:00Testing and monitoring were conducted by a congressman in front of a new case of mpax in the country.

00:19House Deputy Majority Leader Janet Garin, who used to serve as health secretary,

00:25said that mpax or monkeypax could be spread in the Philippines.

00:30This is the result of a new case of mpax in the country.

00:34Garin said that the testing and monitoring conducted here is important.

00:38Early detection and prompt management is what SUSY is looking for in order to solve this problem.

00:44If there are a lot of people infected, the chances of another mutation is there.

00:51And the chance of another mutation is more aggressive.

00:55That's why there should be two targets.

00:57First, to reduce the number of infections.

01:02Second, because it is more aggressive now, to be alerted immediately.

01:07That's why the most important thing now is aggressive surveillance so that if there's a case, you can be alerted immediately.

01:15And then the practice of proper hygiene.

01:17The DOH was the first to issue a public health advisory against mpax.

01:22This disease was previously reported in the country and all previous cases were isolated, tested and treated.

01:30But the government reminds that the virus will be transferred through person-to-person transmission

01:36and direct or indirect contact such as kisses, hugs or sexual intercourse

01:41or if you use the same thing used by a patient.

01:45Among its symptoms are rashes or mucosal lesions accompanied by fever, swollen lymph nodes and sore throat,
