'Evolve' initiative launched in response to Olivia Pratt-Korbel, Ashley Dale and Sam Rimmer murders has led to 10% reduction in crime in targeted areas.

00:00Crime in an area selected for a new initiative has fallen by a tenth since
00:05its launch in August 2022. Evolve Liverpool Knowsley was launched in
00:09Dovecote, Utrecht, Longview, Page, Moss, Heighton and the immediate surrounding
00:13areas in response to the murders of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Corbell,
00:1728-year-old Ashley Dale and 22-year-old Sam Rimmer. The project sees police and
00:23partners working closely together in communities blighted by serious and
00:27organised crime to create stronger, safer and more resilient neighbourhoods.
00:31Since the launch there's been a 10% decrease in all crime in Evolve
00:35Liverpool Knowsley areas. Since August 2022 more than 1,400 arrests have been
00:40made in the area, key offenders have been sentenced to more than 237 years in
00:45prison and several gang injunctions have been served. Officers have also seized
00:49nearly 190 kilograms of suspected class A and B drugs, safeguarded 85 people and
00:55made 124 safeguarding referrals.
