00:00There are 43 stores that were booked by the Department of Trade and Industry that fell under the price freeze imposed in places that are in a state of calamity.
00:21More than 300 types of products did not meet the right price based on the agency's assessment.
00:28This is the first news of Bernadette Reyes.
00:34Due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina and the super typhoon Karina in the past few months,
00:38some places were placed under the state of calamity where the price freeze was in effect or the price of the main goods did not move.
00:46But according to the assessment of the Department of Trade and Industry, 43 stores were affected by the price freeze.
00:53The DTI sent them a notice of violation and explained that
00:57more than 370 types of products were sold that did not meet the right price.
01:04Acting Trade Secretary Maria Cristina Roque visited Guadalupe Market and a grocery store to make sure that the right price was met.
01:12Metro Manila was also affected by the price freeze.
01:15All of these are in compliance. For those consumers who want to buy cheaper prices,
01:20I take advantage of the price freeze so that we can buy at a lower price.
01:27Until September 24, the price freeze will be in effect for the main goods here in Metro Manila.
01:32According to the DTI, this is a big help in budgeting the buyers
01:36and can also avoid the unimaginable increase in the price.
01:40This is a big help. It also adds to the budget.
01:43In the store of Marlin, the price was not increased because of the price freeze.
01:48As long as each item, no matter how we grow, we can do it.
01:54This is the first news. Bernadette Reyes for GMA Integrated News.
02:00Fish and shellfish from Cavite are safe to eat according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR.
02:08This is based on the results of the sensory evaluation in the water following the oil spill incident in Lake Bataan.
02:15In a budget hearing in Camara Inatasan, BFAR gave a copy of their investigation to the Cavite Provincial Government.
02:22Cavite is in a state of calamity because of the oil spill.
02:26Cavite Governor John V. Cremulia said that the livelihood of 31,000 fishermen is affected
02:33and that they are selling fish because of the oil spill.
02:37Approved by the Senate Committee, the Vice President's budget for 2025 is more than Php2 billion.
02:45In the middle of the hearing, Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Risa Ontiveros answered.
02:52Here's the first news, Marisol Abduraman.
02:58In the more than Php2 billion of the 2025 proposed budget of the Office of the Vice President,
03:03some asked Senator Risa Ontiveros to Vice President Sara Duterte.
03:08Will the OVP consider it?
03:10They put the funds for the OVP projects in the line agencies.
03:14There are also other agencies, such as medical, financial and education assistance.
03:19So that it will be in sync with the priorities of the Executive Department
03:23instead of having a separation, but a similar program.
03:28Vice President said that she experienced that when she is involved in other agencies,
03:32their budget is being politicized.
03:34When we are being referred or given endorsement by AICS in DSWD,
03:44most of the time, the answer we get is no, because it came from the Office of the Vice President.
03:51Sometimes, it is true that the assistance is being politicized for our fellow countrymen.
04:00But the two were angry when Ms. Ontiveros asked about the contents of the children's book
04:05written by the Vice President and will spend Php10 million to distribute to the students.
04:11Madam Chair, this is an example of politicizing the budget hearing through the questions of a senator.
04:21The problem is that my name is on the book.
04:25And we will give that book to the children.
04:29And those children have parents who will vote.
04:33And my name is spread wherever the book will be given.
04:40Madam Chair, I cannot understand the attitude of our resource person.
04:45It is a simple question.
04:47Again and again, this is politicizing.
04:51The VP mentioned the word vote.
04:54I did not say vote.
04:56Usually, our resource persons give the same institutional courtesy to the legislature that we give to the executive.
05:06I don't appreciate this kind of attitude.
05:08I also cannot understand the attitude of Senator Riza Ontiveros.
05:12And I do not appreciate, what did she say?
05:15I do not appreciate this kind of behavior and attitude.
05:26Madam Chair, in 2016, Senator Riza Ontiveros ran as a senator.
05:32How many times did he lose?
05:34Two, Madam Chair.
05:35Okay, two.
05:36He was afraid of his third loss, so he went to Davao.
05:42He asked for help.
05:44When he won, what did he do?
05:46He was the first to attack President Rodrigo Duterte.
05:51What do you call this kind of behavior?
05:54This is where Finance Committee Chairperson Senator Grace came in.
05:58The VP was asked about his security.
06:00What is the status?
06:02How many securities were removed?
06:04It was a targeted list.
06:05It was a political move.
06:06It was political harassment.
06:08In the last session of the committee, the OVP asked for a budget of Php 2.037 billion.
06:14But before the hearing ends, the Vice-President has something to say.
06:18We would like to thank all the honorable members of the Senate for doing your work here in the Senate of the Philippines.
06:27Except, just kidding.
06:30Good afternoon.
06:32She's really a VP.
06:34Consistent, Madam Chair.
06:35After the hearing, the Vice-President went to politics to talk to the media,
06:40particularly about the impeachment complaint against him.
06:44They talked, even if they denied it, the members of the House of Representatives talked.
06:51It's openly discussed, the impeachment.
06:56What do they want to do?
06:58They want to bring down the Duterte family in politics.
07:03And not only in politics, but also in person.
07:06They included my husband, right?
07:08He's a private individual, but they included him in their harassment.
07:13She's not afraid of being impeached.
07:15She really has no plan to run as a VP,
07:18if not for the help of her brother, Senator Aimee and President Bongbong Marcos.
07:24They said, we will not win
07:27if you don't help us in Mindanao and Visayas.
07:33If they ask me to leave or impeach me,
07:38it's not up to me.
07:40When asked if she blames President Marcos for helping,
07:48Do I regret helping?
07:52Do you want to answer the question?
07:54Or do you know the answer?
07:56This is the first news.
07:58Marisol Abduraman for GMA Integrated News.
08:02The National Maritime Council is studying the harassment of complaints against China
08:06after the two Philippine Coast Guard ships in Sabina and Escoda Shoals were wrecked.
08:11The harassment of the new diplomatic protest,
08:14or the filing of complaints to the United Nations, was also included in the investigation.
08:17Some of the BRP Bagacay and BRP Cape Engaño were damaged and destroyed
08:21by China Coast Guard ships this Monday.
08:24A few hours after the wreckage,
08:26CCG and the Chinese militia surrounded the BRP Teresa Magbanwa in Escoda Shoals.
08:32Along with the PCG, five rubber boats and three speedboats surrounded the BRP Teresa Magbanwa.
08:39Not far away, several Chinese ships were killed.
08:42The PCG is now studying their resupply mission to the BRP Teresa Magbanwa.
08:48As far as our enforcement is concerned,
08:51all of this is in accordance with the UNCLOS and of course the 2016 Arbitral Award.
08:56They are so afraid with their own narrative that we are reinforcing,
09:00we are going to reinforce our presence in Escoda Shoals
09:04and deploy additional vessels here for the BRP Teresa Magbanwa.
09:10Breaking news.
09:12The budget is tight.
09:14The price of pork is up to Php30 per kilo in Mega Q Mart.
09:19If the egg is included in your market list,
09:22the budget will increase because the price is getting worse.
09:26Live from Quezon City, we have the first news.
09:28EJ Gomez. EJ.
09:32Egan, here in Mega Q Mart in Quezon City,
09:36each piece of the biggest egg, or jumbo size,
09:40has almost reached Php10,
09:42while each kilo of pork has dropped to Php30.
09:50Over the past few weeks, the price of eggs has started to rise.
09:55According to the sellers, it is because of the lack of supply from their customers.
10:00Most of the eggs that are sold in Mega Q Mart are from Antipolo and Batangas.
10:05Small, medium, large.
10:07It has been rising for the past three weeks,
10:09but the medium is rising faster because the demand is faster.
10:12Maybe it's because of the food.
10:14The food from the farm might be expensive.
10:17The price of each piece of all kinds of eggs was increased by more than Php1.
10:21Each piece of the smallest egg can be bought for Php7.70
10:26or Php231 per tray.
10:29The medium is Php8 per piece,
10:32and Php240 per tray.
10:34The difference of each large-sized egg to the medium-sized egg is Php20.
10:39One tray is Php246.
10:42The jumbo, or biggest egg, is Php9.30 now.
10:47If you will buy a tray, you will spend Php279.
10:51Meanwhile, over the past few weeks,
10:53the price of pork has dropped.
10:56The price of pork has dropped to Php30 per kilo of pork,
11:00depending on the type of pork.
11:01The pork belly, for example, is now Php350,
11:04which used to be Php380 per kilo.
11:07The pork kasim is now Php300,
11:09which used to be Php310.
11:11The pork chop is now Php310.
11:14Rowena is getting supplies from Bulacan.
11:17We heard that there is a disease in Batangas.
11:21That is why, even though our pork is good,
11:25we are also affected by the good sellers.
11:30Flora, who owns a butcher shop,
11:32says that buying pork is worth it.
11:34Now, the price of pork has dropped.
11:36But when it comes to eggs...
11:38Sometimes, I buy eggs.
11:41Because it's expensive.
11:42But the kids like it.
11:44They just look at it.
11:51According to the egg sellers we talked to earlier,
11:54even though the price has gone up,
11:56there is almost no change in demand.
11:58It's still strong and many people are still buying
12:01because it's a staple, especially in the breakfast of Filipinos.
12:05The meat vendors said that they will force
12:08to lower their prices even more,
12:10especially when the afternoon comes.
12:12It's okay.
12:13The average income is just enough to sell their products.
12:18And that was the first news from Mega Q Mart in Quezon City.
12:21EJ Gomez for GMA Integrated News.
12:26There is something fishy.
12:28That is what President Bumbong Marcos will find out
12:30if the former Bamban Tarlac, Mayor Alice Guo,
12:32has really left the country.
12:35According to the President,
12:36Guo's departure shows corruption
12:39that weakens the justice system of the country
12:42and the trust of the public.
12:44The investigation is underway to find out
12:46who helped the former mayor to leave
12:49and to make him answer to the law.
12:52Guo has an arrest warrant from the Senate
12:54because he did not comply with the hearings.
12:57He is also facing a complaint of qualified human trafficking
13:00under the raid of Pogo in Bamban.
13:03Second, the documents released by Senator Arisa Ontiveros
13:06show that Guo has already left the country.
13:09Guo's lawyer, Attorney Stephen David,
13:13said that Guo stayed in the Philippines
13:15based on their conversation this Monday.
13:17He admitted that he did not personally see his client.
13:24Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo
13:27visited the GMA Network.
13:29In the interview of GMA Integrated News,
13:31Golden Boy remembered and thanked
13:33those who helped him to win the Paris Olympics.
13:36We have the first news from Pia Arcangel.
13:43Fit for a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
13:46A grand Kapuso welcome to Carlos Yulo at the GMA compound.
13:51Yulo was with the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines
13:54President Cynthia Carion.
13:56They were accompanied by GMA executives
13:58led by President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr.,
14:03Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong,
14:07Senior Vice President Attorney Annette Gozon Valdez,
14:10Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News,
14:13Regional TV and Synergy, Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.
14:16Outstanding, can I say.
14:18Very proud and very grateful for the opportunity
14:22to personally meet him and congratulate him and thank him.
14:26To thank him for the inspiration and the strength he brings us all.
14:31The hope he brings to everybody.
14:33The whole company is so proud of what Yulo achieved.
14:39So, like GMA, one of our core values is excellence
14:44and he excelled that.
14:46So, we're so proud.
14:48For Carlos, everything that happens to him is still like a dream
14:53after the historic victory in the Paris Olympics.
14:56In the Olympics, I just want to win a medal.
15:01And the medal itself, I've been dreaming of it since I was 12 years old.
15:07So, I'm super grateful for my journey.
15:10Carlos told us how he felt about his floor exercise routine.
15:14Before I started on the floor, I saw that I was 14.9,
15:18plus the score of my competitor.
15:21I was like, I'll just focus on myself.
15:24And then, I showed what I practiced.
15:28I did it.
15:29So, I'm really happy.
15:31But I didn't know that I would go gold.
15:35It seems like the vault is harder for Carlos
15:38where he also won a gold medal.
15:41One of the people who helped him here
15:43is a fellow gymnast and Filipino-British,
15:45Jake Jarman of Team Great Britain,
15:48whom he considers a close friend.
15:51In my second vault, it was really hard for me.
15:54He wasn't consistent.
15:56So, I asked Jake to teach me.
15:58When I went home, I mean, when I went to the training camp.
16:02He really helped me with his technique.
16:07I told him to teach me more.
16:09Jake agreed.
16:11Yeah!
16:13In his career, Carlos has been in many trainings.
16:16He also gave a message to his Japanese coach,
16:19Munehiro Kugimiya,
16:21as well as to the people who helped him get used to Japan.
16:24Thank you for your support.
16:28Thank you very much.
16:32What does that mean?
16:34Thank you for your support.
16:36And from the heart,
16:38I thank you all.
16:41Carlos is very happy with his return.
16:44He bonded with other athletes from Team Philippines.
16:47I'm really excited to see AJ.
16:50I know he had a hard time joining this.
16:54I'm super proud of what he did.
16:56I really respect our athletes.
17:01They inspire me.
17:05Carlos did not expect a grand homecoming parade.
17:08Just now, they are preparing for the 2028 Olympics.
17:13If we can, we can do it.
17:15I want him not to go alone,
17:17but to have a team of four other gymnasts.
17:20I'm trying to look now for a foreign coach.
17:24In the return of the golden hero of gymnastics in the country,
17:27many are hoping that this will be the example of the golden era,
17:31not just of Philippine gymnastics.
