The story of Jesus Christ told from an Islamic perspective.
The series portrays Jesus as a prophet and not as the Son of God and claims he was not crucified and that someone else was crucified in his place. Talebzadeh's biopic shows Judas Iscariot being crucified instead of Jesus. Many Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God and thus part of the Holy Trinity and that he died by crucifixion to accomplish humanity's salvation before resurrecting and ascending to heaven.

00:00Jesus, having come to the age of 30 years, went up to Mount Olive with his mother to
00:18gather olives.
00:48Then at midday as he was praying, when he came to the words, Lord with mercy, he was
01:15surrounded by the brightest light and by an infinite multitude of angels who were saying,
01:28Blessed be God.
01:35Then the angel Gabriel presented to him a book, a book which descended into the heart
01:51of Jesus.
02:21Then the Holy Spirit took Jesus to the eastern side of the Jordan Desert.
02:51In that quiet isolation, Jesus experienced seclusion, hunger, and thirst for 40 days
03:02and nights.
03:05During that time, he fasted during the days and prayed during the nights.
03:11In the cold, dark nights of the desert, Satan appeared unto the son of the Virgin Mary in
03:19various forms.
03:24Only God can do the miracles you will do from now on.
03:30Whose power can heal incurable patients?
03:34God's power.
03:40And each time, Jesus drove him away with God's words.
03:56Your grandness attained such a lofty status that you were born without a father, O Jesus.
04:04Get ye away, deprived from God's blessing.
04:11You are the one whose deity has become so immense that you can walk on water.
04:34At the end of the trial, Jesus returned to Jerusalem.
04:47The son of the Virgin Mary came across a man afflicted with leprosy, who by God's inspiration
04:54found out Jesus was a prophet.
04:58The man begged Jesus to heal his ailing body.
05:02When the revelation of the book came to an end, Jesus realized his prophethood towards
05:29the children of Israel had commenced.
05:43Jesus, you should climb these steps so all the people can see you better.
05:52Let's hear your words, if you have any.
05:59Blessed be the holy name of God, who hath created us, and set him over his works.
06:25Blessed be the holy name of God, who drove man out of paradise for having transgressed his holy command.
06:36Blessed be the holy name of God, who out of his goodness and mercy willed to create his creatures,
06:43and therefore sent them his holy prophets.
06:46Blessed be the holy name of God, who delivered his servants from every evil,
06:51and gave them this land as he promised to our father Abraham and to his son forever.
06:58Blessed be the holy name of God, who by his servant Moses gave us his holy law,
07:06so that Satan should not deceive us, and he exalted us above all other peoples.
07:12But brethren, what do we today that we be not punished for our sins?
07:19Verily, I have brought you wisdom. Clarify what you fight over.
07:25So, fear God.
07:31Believe, truly, only he is your God, your Lord, and worship him with utmost honesty,
07:40because only this is the true path.
07:43Follow my teachings, and know whoever denies the one God,
07:48God has denied him of paradise, and hell shall be his abode.
08:01Palestine, 30 A.D.
08:05Who will buy this?
08:07Let me see.
08:09Would you buy this?
08:11I'm not accepting anything at the moment.
08:14It's very valuable.
08:18That's all I'm offering.
08:20What are you talking about? It's not even worth anything to me.
08:23That's all I'm offering.
08:28It's a good idea.
08:36The bazaar.
08:42It's the best place for it.
08:47What are you wanting to do?
08:50We'll pull down the poles creating chaos everywhere in the bazaar, and we'll kill the Roman pigs.
08:57Do you think it's right to kill the Romans on the day of Pilate's arrival?
09:01Rufus has killed 40 of our men so far.
09:04He has no mercy. Don't you understand?
09:08Don't worry. Rufus has been crippled by the thought of his sick daughter.
09:13He's not the same old tyrant he once was.
09:16Joseph, have you ever killed a Roman?
09:21No.
09:23They killed John.
09:26If you are a true disciple, you must do it.
09:29Revenge the death of your prophet.
09:33I have been waiting for an opportunity.
09:37Killing Romans won't make any difference.
09:40It will only make things worse.
09:43Do you take pleasure in seeing two Jews crucified for every single Roman killed?
09:48The time for talking has passed.
09:50The Romans will massacre us.
09:52They're not afraid of our God.
09:54They'll kill us all without cause.
09:56This is Judea.
09:58The time of the prophets ended a long time ago.
10:01Iscariot, I have a dangerous mission for you.
10:14A word, Commander.
10:17Look.
10:19Those two men by your horses.
10:21I think they're up to something.
10:23Perhaps they plan to steal your horses.
10:27Well, look who's here.
10:29If it isn't the Commander.
10:32What are you two doing?
10:34Explain yourselves.
10:36Why, we're just simply watching your lame mules for a long time.
10:40You dare to mock me?
10:42Of course not.
10:44We would rather tie you to the cart with the mules than sell you to Pilate.
10:48Tell us.
10:49How dare you?
10:51Hey, don't move.
10:53I'll personally take you to Golgotha.
10:57Take him away.
10:59Move.
11:01Traitor.
11:02Traitor.
11:03Traitor.
11:06Traitor.
11:08Traitor.
11:12Traitor.
11:17Traitor.
11:18Traitor.
11:19Traitor.
11:20Traitor!
11:23You did well.
11:25You're a good Jew, I think.
11:28What's your name?
11:29Judas.
11:31Judas Iscariot.
11:34Where are you from?
11:35I'm from Iscariot.
11:37Tell me.
11:39You weren't with them, were you?
11:41No.
11:42No, I wasn't.
11:44The Zealots are pests of Judea.
11:48Their place is on the cross.
11:51Not just yet.
11:53Of course.
11:55Whatever.
11:58Thank you, Judas.
12:01Report to me if you see anything suspicious.

13:35Here.
13:36Here, take it.
13:37And give it to that Roman soldier.
13:39And tell him to watch our stand for it.

14:11Uncle Isaac!
14:13But of course it's me!
14:15Who did you expect, son of Simon Iscariot?
14:20Tell me, young man.
14:22What do you do anyway?
14:25I remember you were here,
14:27trying your hand at coin-changing like myself for a few days.
14:32And then you were gone!
14:34Disappeared!
14:35Into thin air!
14:36And I heard news of you with the Zealots.
14:41You reappear, and I see you taking money from the pockets of travelers
14:48while they're busy watching a cockfight.
14:51Believe me,
14:52I'm here only to watch the fight.

15:40Are you sharpening your knife for the Romans?
15:42I'm a butcher. I slaughter sheep for people.
15:45Makes no difference if the customer's a pilot or the high priest.
15:49They're in league with each other now.
15:51Barabas, you looking for trouble again?
15:57Give that to me.
16:00Sacrificed sheep is worth more to me than the bodies of ten Romans.
16:05Then who will save our people from the tyranny?
16:08Who?
16:09Open your eyes.
16:11Now is the time.
16:14O miserable Jerusalem!
16:18Wretched Judea!
16:21Capital of Solomon and David!
16:25See what has become of you!
16:28Unsheathe your daggers!
16:30Shed Roman blood!

16:59General Pontius Pilate!
17:03Salute for General Pontius Pilate! Salute!
17:24Salute for the representative of Caesar Tiberius, General Pontius Pilate!
17:35At ease.
17:36As you can see, sir, a large group of locals has come to welcome you.
17:41Is that so?
17:43Are they here of their own free will, young Andrew?
17:46I don't know what to say, sir.
17:50What is happening in this city?
17:53Jerusalem has never been calm, sir.
17:56It's always feverish, waiting for an incident.
18:00What incident?
18:02Something that changes the situation forever.
18:06They're ambitious people.
18:09Quite right, sir.
18:11What's happening over there?
18:14It's the market, sir.
18:15Come on! This way!
18:16The zealots did it.
18:17Come on! Move! Stop struggling!
18:19Come with me!
18:49This city, why does it always have to stink?
19:12Those priests receive the city's taxes, and yet the stench of the sewing chokes me.
19:18Where is the money going?
19:22Tell me, Adrian.
19:23What is new?
19:24The people say that a new prophet has descended.
19:28Descended?
19:29Yes.
19:30You mean like a god?
19:31Tell me, Adrian!
19:32Have you lost your mind?
19:33I have not, sir.
19:35It's what the people believe.
19:37I see.
19:38We'll talk inside.
19:40Indeed, I noticed that.
19:43But I think the best answer to that is tolerance.
19:49Let him enter his little den, peacefully.
19:56General, I imagine you must be tired from your travels.
20:00However, during your stay in Rome,
20:03General, I imagine you must be tired from your travels.
20:06However, during your stay in Rome,
20:09many things have changed here.
20:11Judea is not the colony it once was.
20:15If there's one thing I hate, it's looking at their faces.
20:20And let me tell you this, Lentos.
20:23Even though I have just arrived, I am thinking of returning to Rome.
20:27General, the people here are very different from the other colonies.
20:31They are very sensitive about the city.
20:34And of the temple as well.
20:38Insulting the Emperor must not be tolerated.
20:41Not for any reason.
20:44But also, we mustn't do anything.
20:48That might instigate these monkeys.
20:51Reports indicate that the unrest in the bazaar today was the work of the Zealots.
20:56But more importantly, it is an issue that I must add to my reports, General.
21:01I'm listening to you.
21:03General, I apologize.
21:05I didn't intend on giving you bad news.
21:08Just as you arrived...
21:09No, it's all right, go on.
21:11There's someone who's been seen in Jerusalem,
21:14who has distressed the people greatly.
21:17They call him the Nazarene.
21:19He's not from here, the Galilee.
21:22Why is he important to us?
21:23Galilee is Herod's territory.
21:26Therefore, it is for him to deal with such rebels as this Nazarene.
21:31Not us.
21:33But my Lord, this man has done strange things in Jerusalem.
21:37And this is your territory.
21:40The people of Judea have developed a strong inclination toward him.
21:44The temple priests regard him as a potential threat.
21:47Wonderful.
21:49I think I'm beginning to like him even more.
21:51My Lord, I beg for more contemplation on this issue.
21:55During your absence, many things have happened.
21:58Since the killing of John, the reaction...
22:01Oh yes, John.
22:03The prophet of Judea.
22:05The victim of Herod.
22:09For one whole month, I was answering question after question
22:14in the Joint Investigation Committee of the Senate and the Empire.
22:18Do you understand?
22:20This Nazarene...
22:24Is he a fanatical member of the Essenes?
22:28Or is he one of the Zealots?
22:33He is neither.
22:35And that's where the mystery lies.
22:37He has no dagger.
22:39He has no sword.
22:41He has no weapon.
22:43He has no weapon.
22:45He has no weapon.
22:46And that's where the mystery lies.
22:48He has no dagger.
22:50He has no convent.
22:52Or a synagogue.
22:54Yet his timing couldn't have been better.
22:58Whoever sent him doesn't matter.
23:01He's in Jerusalem at the right time.
23:03His timing is perfect.
23:06Jerusalem has no capable king, nor does it have caring leaders.
23:11In fact, it's a city on the verge of a revolt.
23:17It's ripe for a revolt.
23:20Yes, I think we should leave the mystery here.
23:23Yes, General.
23:25Also, remember that Rome always abides by the law.
23:30And we must make sure these insurgents understand
23:34that laws are enforced.
23:36Right, Adrian?
23:38Yes, General.
23:40Adrian is a conservative, far-sighted young man.
23:44Yes, sir.
23:46Adrian, what was the name of that rebel again?
23:49The Nazarene.
23:52Jesus of Nazareth.
23:54I say...
23:57Jesus of Nazareth.
24:03Dismissed.
24:05General.
24:10Dismissed.
24:29At the beginning of his divine mission,
24:32the son of Mary decided to choose apostles
24:35to accompany him on the path of spreading his teachings.
24:41Among them was Joseph the Levite,
24:45a young man from a well-off Hebrew family in Cyprus,
24:51who, upon hearing about the holy son of the Virgin Mary,
24:55left his homeland and came to Palestine to meet Jesus.
25:41I've traveled so far.
25:44I've crossed the Mediterranean.
25:48I've been wandering for weeks in Palestine,
25:52the holiest land of prophets.
25:58The fourth pair of shoes I'd bought today met the same fate
26:03as the three previous pairs.
26:06My bag is gradually becoming empty of coins.
26:11And yet I still haven't found the one
26:14I started this journey in the hope of meeting.
26:20Oh, Jesus, son of the Virgin Mary,
26:24where are you?
26:26The birds in the sky have a nest.
26:36The wild beasts in the desert
26:40have a den also.
26:45But the son of Mary
26:48has no abode.
26:50You are
26:54the son of Mary.
26:56My God, it is you, Jesus.
26:58I've been waiting
27:01many months for such a moment as this.
27:05How is it you are here?
27:10My name is Joseph, from a Levite family,
27:15from Cyprus.
27:18I'm both orator and scribe.
27:21Well, I was, I mean,
27:23I'm nothing before you.
27:27What I mean to say is I'm nothing without you,
27:32my Levite brother.
27:36The Levites are known for taking care of the house of God
27:40for both worlds.
27:42I too am such
27:46a servant
27:50of the benevolent, almighty God.
27:55If God wills it,
27:58both you and I
28:01will be what the Lord has willed.
28:04Such things are not for us to decide.
28:10As of now,
28:13I'll call you Barnabas,
28:20son of Advice.
28:27Now, come with me,
28:31Barnabas.
28:34Come.
28:46I'm coming, Master.
28:51Where are we heading?
28:53To Lake Genesaret in Galilee.
28:56We are going there to catch, Barnabas.
28:59To catch fish?
29:01Perhaps to catch people.
29:03Let's go.
29:27Damn Romans.
29:29We're stuck with those infidels again.
29:34Stop the carriage
29:36in the name of the Judean border guard.
29:39Whoa, stop.
29:41Stop.
29:51What were you muttering under your breath?
29:54Well, nothing, sir.
29:56I was just saying to myself
29:58how much you look like my late cousin.
30:00Frisk them all.
30:04Bring them down.
30:06Yes, sir.
30:11You,
30:13come down.
30:15We have nothing, completely clean.
30:17Shut up, you. Be quiet.
30:30Well,
30:31from where is it
30:33you are coming?
30:35Tyre.
30:37Your dress and accent are not from Tyre.
30:39Before Tyre, I came from Alexandria.
30:42In Egypt?
30:44What have you brought?
30:46Their treaties.
30:48To me, you look strange.
30:50Why is it that you are going to Jerusalem?
30:53Well, I'm a trader.
30:55You trade?
30:57In Jerusalem?
30:58You realize the only thing
31:00you're going to get in Jerusalem
31:02is trouble and superstition.
31:05That's all there is there.
31:07Well then, you may go.
31:13Soldier,
31:15bring the next.
31:23Your turn. Get down.
31:29Where did you come from, then?
31:31Tarsus.
31:35You're a Pharisee.
31:37A priest.
31:39You look more like a bandit to me.
31:44You keep to yourself
31:46so nobody discovers anything about you.
31:48Perhaps you're a priest in Solomon's temple.
31:51Tell the truth.
31:53What are you doing here?
31:55I'm here to help you.
31:56Tell the truth.
31:58What are your plans?
32:00Plans?
32:02What plans could I have?
32:05All you priests from Solomon's temple are mysterious.
32:09We can't be deceived by your clothes.
32:11You look like a con artist.
32:13Where did you say you were from?
32:15Tarsus.
32:17If border guards couldn't recognize lizards such as yourself,
32:21we'd all be dead.
32:24Go on.
32:27Call the next.
32:31Get down. You're next.
32:36What's that?
32:38What are you hiding?
32:40It's nothing.
32:42Give it to me.
32:44Sir,
32:46this man has a dagger.
32:48See, sir?
32:50So, you have a dagger.
32:54What's your job?
32:56A hunter.
32:59Well, that's obvious.
33:01What is it you hunt?
33:04Wild dogs?
33:07Or is it Roman soldiers?
33:10You mean there's a difference?
33:12You swine!
33:16Don't do that again, Corvo.
33:19Get here.
33:23Let him go.
33:26What did you say?
33:28You heard me.
33:30Let him go.
33:34It seems I must arrest a crazy priest as well.
33:37Is that right?
33:42That depends on who the crazy priest is.
33:44A local commoner
33:46or an Empire citizen.
33:49You're boasting.
33:51You appear to be nothing more than a common Pharisee.
33:55And you don't look brave enough
33:57to be behaving thus
33:59in front of the General Procurator of Antioch.
34:04It is in your best interest to finish this right now.
34:09This is not Antioch.
34:12This is Judea.
34:15Yet you're great masters.
34:16General Pilate
34:19operates under the jurisdiction
34:21of the General Governor
34:23of the Empire in Damascus.
34:26You know this well, soldier.
34:34I'm not looking for any trouble.
34:38You can take him.
34:41I'll take care of him.
34:43You can take him.
34:50Go on.
34:53It appears Judea has its own rules.
34:56Go on.
35:00But listen to me.
35:02Carrying a dagger is forbidden in Judean territory.
35:06I'll return this.
35:08But you must remember.
35:09A Jew with a dagger
35:11is considered to be a zealot.
35:15You don't have the face of a zealot.
35:17But you have the bitter tongue of one.
35:20You were lucky the gentleman interceded for you.
35:23Or you'd wind up in the dungeon
35:25of the fortress of Antonia.
