00:07Hopes of redeveloping a prominent site on Blackfield Promenade with a new hotel have been dashed for the time being,
00:13with the land now set for use as a car park.
00:16The land in South Shore has been empty for 10 years since the former Tudor Rose Hotel was demolished in 2014,
00:23and plans for a £7.6 million Easy Hotel were shelved despite work starting.
00:29Now developers have applied to Blackfield Council for temporary planning permission for a 55-space car park on the site,
00:36with an entrance on Commercial Street.
00:39A popular carvery restaurant will be closed for most of October.
00:43The historic Farmer's Arms in One Lane White Stake is known for its pizzas and carvery,
00:48as well as its all-you-can-eat breakfast and 2-for-£12 cocktails every day.
00:53Owner Stonehouse told the Lancashire Post the venue will benefit from a full decorative refurb with a new exciting menu

01:31Bus passengers in Lancaster and Morecambe will see a significant improvement to services next month, says Stagecoach.
01:39The bus operator is making timetable changes from September 1st to improve reliability and add extra journeys on some routes.
01:47Improvements include a new evening service to the Ridge and Marsh Estates,
01:52doubling the Sunday service on the 100 from the University of Tehesham to run every half an hour,
01:58additional journeys from Lancaster to Blackpool and a new evening service to Halton, Caton and Hornby.
