00:00:52Let us, let us, let us, let us go on singing.
00:01:10Let us, let us, let us, let us go on singing.
00:01:30Let us, let us, let us, let us go on singing.
00:02:01Goodbye, Peter, my old friend.
00:02:04Today you will be executed.
00:02:06I grieve for you.
00:02:08Grieve not for me.
00:02:10I have no fear.
00:02:14How can you take this so lightly?
00:02:16You look like you're happy.
00:02:18I am.
00:02:19Because I believe in the Savior's promise of everlasting happiness for all his followers.
00:02:25Who is this Savior?
00:02:27Have you not heard of Jesus Christ?
00:02:30Then let me tell you about him so that you too can have this happiness.
00:02:36In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God.
00:02:40And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory.
00:02:45It was prophesied that the Savior would be born of a virgin, and so it came to pass.
00:02:53The virgin Mary, betrothed to the carpenter Joseph of Nazareth, became, through the Holy Ghost,
00:03:00the mother of the promised Redeemer.
00:03:03And with her betrothed, Mary went to Bethlehem, and there she brought forth her firstborn son.
00:03:10And she wrapped him in sparkling clothes and laid him in a manger, for there was no room for them in the inn.
00:03:17And they called his name Jesus.
00:03:20And the shepherds from the nearby fields came to see the child, for an angel had said to them,
00:03:26There is born unto you this day in the city of David the Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
00:03:34And an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, telling him to flee into Egypt,
00:03:39for Herod was seeking the child to destroy him.
00:03:44And they journeyed into Egypt at night, and did not return to Nazareth until after the death of King Herod.
00:03:53Even as a child, God had favored Jesus with wisdom beyond his years.
00:03:59But until he was thirty years old, he worked as a carpenter in Nazareth.
00:04:05And into the land came a man sent from God, whose name was John.
00:04:11He was not the light that God has given to the world, but came that he might bear witness to that light.
00:04:17This man was known as John the Baptist. He was my teacher.
00:04:23Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his path straight.
00:04:27Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low.
00:04:32The crooked shall become straight, and the rough way smooth,
00:04:36and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
00:04:39Holy Prophet, who art thou?
00:04:41Art thou Elijah the Returned?
00:04:43I am not.
00:04:44Who art thou then?
00:04:45I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord.
00:04:50Who I baptize thou then?
00:04:52If thou be not Elijah, nor Christ the Anointed One.
00:04:55I am not.
00:04:56I indeed baptize with water.
00:04:58But one mightier than I is now on the land, the legend of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose.
00:05:04He shall baptize with the Holy Ghost.
00:05:07And who is he?
00:05:08He is called Jesus, and I did see the Spirit descend from heaven upon him.
00:05:13I have seen and borne witness that he is the Son of God.
00:05:18Son of God?
00:05:19He is the Anointed One, the Lamb of God who has come to take away the sins of the world.
00:05:25Through him the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, and the lepers become cleansed,
00:05:31and the poor have good tidings to reach to them.
00:05:34These gatherings of common people cannot be allowed to continue.
00:05:37This is the man called John the Baptist who has been ready against Herod.
00:05:41This gathering together of Israelite rabble is unlawful.
00:05:44Herod has so decreed.
00:05:46Yea, Herod is sinful one who does violence to men whenever it suits him.
00:05:51Herod is the law here in Galilee.
00:05:53It is not lawful for him to have his brother's wife.
00:05:55Herod is evil and his wife is an adulteress.
00:05:59Israelite dogs!
00:06:02Take him! Disperse! Go ye home!
00:06:04Aye, I am published home, which Herod burdens with taxes.
00:06:09Fear not, the Messiah cometh. He will bring you salvation.
00:06:12Just begun approaches against Herod from within the walls of his prison.
00:06:16Take him!
00:06:17The axe shall be laid upon the root of the tree.
00:06:19Every tree that bringeth forth not good fruit shall be hewn down and cast into the fire.
00:06:28And Herod would have put John to death then, but he feared the multitudes.
00:06:32For they counted John as a prophet and a holy man.
00:06:37But before John was imprisoned, Jesus himself appeared.
00:06:42And Jesus was baptized of John.
00:06:45And went into the wilderness for forty days to be tempted of the devil.
00:06:50And was offered the kingdoms of the earth to fall down and worship.
00:06:55But Jesus resisted temptation, saying,
00:06:58Get thee hence, Satan, for it is written,
00:07:02Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
00:07:09When the torturing forty days were over,
00:07:12Jesus came into that part of Israel known as Judea and began to teach.
00:07:18Some of the events of his divine life I shall tell you about.
00:07:23Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
00:07:28Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
00:07:37Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
00:07:42Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
00:07:47Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
00:07:52Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
00:07:58Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.
00:08:05Blessed are they which have been persecuted for righteousness sake,
00:08:09for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
00:08:11Another prophet.
00:08:13I have only a short time to go before to imprison one of these holy prophets
00:08:17who called Herod's queen an adulteress.
00:08:21But woe unto you who laugh now, for ye shall mourn and weep.
00:08:28This gathering of common people is unlawful.
00:08:31Rome has decreed it.
00:08:37Well, beloved son of David,
00:08:39have mercy upon me.
00:08:41Mercy, master.
00:08:43What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?
00:08:48That I may receive my sight.
00:08:53Believest thou that I am able to do this?
00:08:56Yea, master.
00:08:58According to thy faith,
00:09:01be it unto thee.
00:09:03According to thy faith,
00:09:06be it unto thee.
00:09:25I see.
00:09:27I see.
00:09:28I see.
00:09:29I see.
00:09:30I see.
00:09:33Master,
00:09:35never before have I seen the light.
00:09:38My Lord has answered me.
00:09:40He has granted me vision.
00:09:42Thy faith hath made thee whole.
00:09:45Go in peace.
00:09:49Yea, master.
00:09:54I see.
00:09:56I see.
00:10:01Miracle.
00:10:03Master.
00:10:07What seek ye?
00:10:08Master,
00:10:10where dwellest thou?
00:10:13Common sea.
00:10:20Thus Jesus found his first disciples,
00:10:23John and Andrew.
00:10:25Ten others were called,
00:10:27one of which was I.
00:10:29Peter,
00:10:30understand you this mission the master would have us undertake.
00:10:33Understanding cometh only from the Lord.
00:10:35We need but have faith.
00:10:37He will enlighten us.
00:10:38What think you, Thomas?
00:10:39To go forth and preach to the people without the master?
00:10:42My doubts greatly trouble me.
00:10:44When cometh the master?
00:10:46When it is meet that he should come, Andrew.
00:10:48Are we all now assembled?
00:10:49Yea, Philip.
00:10:50All save Judas.
00:10:52I am here.
00:10:54Peter, where is the master?
00:10:56Patience, Judas, he will come.
00:10:58I wonder who of us will be greatest in this undertaking.
00:11:01I shall be greatest.
00:11:03Yea, I shall be greatest.
00:11:06The master.
00:11:07The master.
00:11:11What is it that ye dispute among yourselves?
00:11:13Master, which of us shall be greatest in thy work?
00:11:16Yea, the master shall be great.
00:11:18If any man desire to be first,
00:11:20the same shall be last of all and servant of all.
00:11:23For he that exalted himself shall be abased,
00:11:26and whosoever humbleth himself shall be exalted.
00:11:31Go now unto the people and preach the kingdom,
00:11:35even as I have taught you.
00:11:36What shall we take for our journey?
00:11:38Take nothing for your journey,
00:11:40neither bread, neither money,
00:11:41neither have two coats apiece.
00:11:43Master, how then shall we be clothed?
00:11:46Yea, master, how shall we be clothed?
00:11:50Sit ye.
00:11:57And why take ye thought for raiment?
00:12:00Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow.
00:12:03They toil not, neither do they spin.
00:12:06And yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory
00:12:09was not arrayed as one of these.
00:12:12Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field,
00:12:16shall he not much more clothe you?
00:12:20O ye of little faith,
00:12:24therefore take no thought, saying,
00:12:26What shall we eat, what shall we drink,
00:12:28or wherewithal shall we be clothed?
00:12:30But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
00:12:34and all these things shall be added unto you.
00:12:38But master, if we are to take nothing with us,
00:12:42where shall we store that which we own?
00:12:45Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
00:12:48where moth and rust doth corrupt,
00:12:51and where thieves break through and steal.
00:12:54But lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven,
00:12:57for where your treasure is,
00:13:01there will your heart be also.
00:13:03Yea, master, we understand.
00:13:05Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves.
00:13:09Be ye therefore wise as serpents,
00:13:12and harmless as doves.
00:13:15But beware of men,
00:13:19for they will deliver you up to the councils,
00:13:21and they will scourge you in their synagogues.
00:13:23And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake.
00:13:27And when they do accuse us,
00:13:29what testimony shall we give of ourselves?
00:13:32It shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
00:13:35For it is not ye that speak,
00:13:38but the spirit of your father which speaketh in you.
00:13:41But master,
00:13:43how can the father's spirit speak in us?
00:13:47God the father is spirit.
00:13:52Believest thou not that I am in the father,
00:13:54and the father in me?
00:13:57The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself,
00:14:01but of the father that dwelleth in me.
00:14:06Verily I say unto you,
00:14:08he that believeth in me,
00:14:10the works that I do shall he do also,
00:14:13and greater works than these shall ye do.
00:14:16Master, we go forth to teach thy word.
00:14:20And into whatsoever house ye enter,
00:14:22first say, Peace be unto this house.
00:14:25And in that same house remain,
00:14:27eating and drinking such things as they give you,
00:14:30for the laborer is worthy of his hire.
00:14:34And into whatsoever city ye enter,
00:14:36and they receive you,
00:14:38heal the sick that are therein,
00:14:40and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
00:14:44Heal the sick.
00:14:45Cleanse the leper.
00:14:46Raise the dead.
00:14:47Cast out devils.
00:14:49Freely ye have received.
00:14:52Freely ye give.
00:14:57Peace be unto you.
00:15:09Go ye now.
00:15:14Peace be unto you.
00:15:24Soon after the master had called his very first disciples,
00:15:28he journeyed with them into the land of Samaria.
00:15:32Now there was hatred between the Jews and the Samaritans,
00:15:37which was deep and of long standing.
00:15:40But Jesus had no hatred of the Samaritans,
00:15:43and he walked without rest
00:15:45until he came to the spot known as Jacob's Well,
00:15:49one of the oldest in the world.
00:15:51Here it was that all the villagers came
00:15:54to bring their animals to drink
00:15:56and to fetch water for their households.
00:15:59Woman,
00:16:02give me to drink.
00:16:13How is it that thou, being a Jew,
00:16:15art drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?
00:16:18That the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans?
00:16:22If thou knewest who it is that saith to thee,
00:16:24Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him
00:16:26that he would have given thee living water.
00:16:28From whence hast thou that living water?
00:16:31Art thou greater than our father Jacob,
00:16:33which gave us the well and drank thereof himself
00:16:35and his children and his cattle?
00:16:37Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again.
00:16:41But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him
00:16:43shall never thirst,
00:16:45for the water that I shall give him
00:16:47shall be in him a well of water
00:16:49springing up into everlasting life.
00:16:55Thirst.
00:16:56Give me this water that I thirst not.
00:16:59Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
00:17:02I have no husband.
00:17:04Thou hast well said, I have no husband,
00:17:07for thou hast had five husbands,
00:17:09and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband.
00:17:16In that saidst thou truly.
00:17:21I perceive thou art a prophet.
00:17:23Why comest thou hither to Samaria?
00:17:25Our fathers worshipped in this mountain,
00:17:27but ye say the temple in Jerusalem
00:17:29is the place where men ought to worship.
00:17:31The hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain
00:17:33nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father.
00:17:36Ye worship ye know not what.
00:17:38We know what we worship,
00:17:40for salvation is of the Jews.
00:17:43But the hour cometh, and now is,
00:17:46when the true worshipper
00:17:48shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
00:17:52I know the Messiah cometh which is called Christ.
00:17:55When he is come he will tell us all things.
00:17:59I that speak unto thee am he.
00:18:04Master.
00:18:14Master.
00:18:27Thou friend of men.
00:18:31I have followed thee,
00:18:33for my soul is hungry for thy wisdom.
00:18:36Teach me thy ways that I may become righteous in thy sight.
00:18:40Ye have heard it said,
00:18:41blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness,
00:18:44for they shall be filled.
00:18:46Master, how shall I, a sinner, find the kingdom of God?
00:18:52He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.
00:18:55Trust in God,
00:18:57trust in God,
00:18:59and what things soever ye desire,
00:19:01when ye pray, believe that ye receive them,
00:19:04and ye shall have them.
00:19:06But master, I am not worthy.
00:19:09What man, having a hundred sheep,
00:19:11and he lose one of them,
00:19:13doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness,
00:19:15and go after the one which is lost,
00:19:17until he find it?
00:19:19I say unto you,
00:19:20there shall be more joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,
00:19:23than over ninety and nine just persons,
00:19:26which need no repentance.
00:19:28But master, my sins are many.
00:19:30Thy sins are forgiven thee.
00:19:32Thy faith hath saved thee.
00:19:37Thou art truly the Messiah that hath been promised to our people.
00:19:42I have found peace at last.
00:19:51Come, come, see a man.
00:19:53See a man who told me all the things which ever I did.
00:20:01Why call ye me, master, and do not the things which I say?
00:20:04Master, what wouldst thou have us do?
00:20:09Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them,
00:20:12I will show you to whom he is like.
00:20:15He is like a man which built a house,
00:20:17and digged deep,
00:20:19and laid the foundation upon a rock.
00:20:21And when the flood arose,
00:20:23the stream did beat vehemently against that house,
00:20:25but could not shake it,
00:20:27for it was founded upon a rock.
00:20:30But he that heareth and doeth not,
00:20:32like a man which without a foundation built a house upon the sand,
00:20:36against which the stream did beat vehemently,
00:20:39and immediately it fell,
00:20:41and the ruin of that house was great.
00:20:45Hath thou come to torment me before my time?
00:20:50What have I to do with thee, Jesus,
00:20:52thou son of God most high?
00:20:55Master, beware, his chains are broken.
00:20:57Master, go not near him.
00:20:59It is the demoniac, beware.
00:21:02Where is thy home?
00:21:04The tomb, the tomb.
00:21:07I beseech thee by the living God
00:21:09that thou torment me not,
00:21:11I beseech thee by the living God
00:21:13that thou torment me not,
00:21:16torment me not.
00:21:18Master, beware, he has been mad these many years
00:21:20and wanders in the wilderness.
00:21:22What is thy name?
00:21:24Legion, Legion, for we are many.
00:21:27Many devils have entered into our city.
00:21:31I adjure thee by the living God
00:21:33that thou send us not into the deep.
00:21:37I beseech thee that thou torment me not,
00:21:42torment me not.
00:21:45Come out of the man, thou unkeen spirit.
00:21:53Is he dead?
00:21:55Nay, he lives.
00:21:57Peace.
00:22:03Oh, Master,
00:22:06thou hast brought me peace at last.
00:22:14Go home to thy friends and tell them
00:22:16what great thing God hath done for thee.
00:22:20Nay, Master,
00:22:23he hath brought me peace at last.
00:22:28Peace at last.
00:22:30He hath healed the madman.
00:22:31It is not this, the Christ.
00:22:33Now we believe, for we have seen for ourselves.
00:22:36Now indeed we know thou art the Christ,
00:22:38Savior of the world.
00:22:43Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
00:22:46and I will give you rest.
00:22:49Take my yoke upon you and learn of me,
00:22:52for I am meek and lowly in heart.
00:22:54And ye shall find rest unto your souls,
00:22:57for my yoke is easy,
00:22:59and my burden is light.
00:23:08And a spy had been sent for the Pharisees
00:23:11to bring back reports of this man
00:23:13who was worshipped by the multitudes.
00:23:15And when the high priests of the temple
00:23:17were told that Jesus had healed the demoniac
00:23:20and had made friends with the Samaritans,
00:23:23their concern was great.
00:23:25For should his power over the people become too strong,
00:23:29Rome might take away the high positions of the Pharisees.
00:23:34Now among the Pharisees was a man named Nicodemus
00:23:38who was a seeker of the truth.
00:23:40And he heard that Jesus told of a God of love
00:23:44a God of mercy.
00:23:46And Nicodemus sought out Jesus by night to learn of him.
00:23:51Master, I know thou art a teacher come from God,
00:23:55for no man can do that which thou doest
00:23:58except God be with him.
00:24:00I say unto you, Nicodemus,
00:24:02except a man be born anew,
00:24:04he cannot see the kingdom of God.
00:24:06How can a man be born when he is old?
00:24:09Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit.
00:24:12He cannot enter the kingdom of God.
00:24:14I marvel that thou say unto me
00:24:16that I must be born anew.
00:24:19Art thou a teacher of Israel
00:24:22and understandeth not these things?
00:24:24Master, bear with me.
00:24:27I seek enlightenment.
00:24:29In our scriptures it is written
00:24:31the people are as they strive with their priests.
00:24:35And like people, like priests,
00:24:37God will punish them for their ways.
00:24:40God so loved the world
00:24:42that he gave his only begotten son
00:24:44that whosoever believeth on him
00:24:46should not perish but have everlasting life.
00:24:50God sent not his son to judge the world
00:24:54but that the world through him should be saved.
00:24:58He that believeth on him is not judged.
00:25:02He that believeth not
00:25:04hath been judged already.
00:25:07Hath been judged already.
00:25:09But how hath the world been judged already?
00:25:13This is the judgment.
00:25:16The light is coming to the world.
00:25:18Yet men have loved the darkness rather than the light
00:25:21for their works were evil.
00:25:24For every man that doeth evil doth hate the light
00:25:27lest his deeds should be reproved.
00:25:30But he that doeth the truth
00:25:32cometh to the light
00:25:34that his works may be made manifest
00:25:36for they have been performed in God.
00:25:39Master, I begin to understand thee
00:25:43and I would bring this light upon the darkness of my people
00:25:47that they may escape punishment.
00:25:50This night have I known a ray of light
00:25:53and it has brought a new warmth into my heart.
00:25:59Thou didst prophesy truly when thou saidst of us
00:26:02blind leaders of the blind.
00:26:08Go thy way in peace.
00:26:21Master.
00:26:25Master.
00:26:26Ye have returned.
00:26:27Yea, master.
00:26:28We have traveled far and taught thy word.
00:26:30Some have heeded us, others have mocked us.
00:26:32Many persecutions have we borne.
00:26:34Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake
00:26:37for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
00:26:39Master.
00:26:40Master.
00:26:41James, what troubles thee?
00:26:43John the Baptist is dead.
00:26:45Herod hath slain him.
00:26:47Slain John the Baptist?
00:26:48Yea, Peter.
00:26:49But why?
00:26:50To satisfy the whim of Herodias.
00:26:52His severed head was placed before on a charger.
00:26:56Among them that are born of women
00:26:58hath not been a greater man than John the Baptist.
00:27:01If this great prophet hath been killed,
00:27:03what of thee, master?
00:27:05Darest thou remain among the people?
00:27:07Whom say the people that I am?
00:27:09Some say one of the old prophets is risen again.
00:27:12Others say Elijah.
00:27:13And whom say ye that I am?
00:27:16Thou art the Christ,
00:27:18the anointed one,
00:27:20son of the living God.
00:27:23Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jonah,
00:27:26for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee,
00:27:28but my Father which is in heaven.
00:27:30And I say unto thee that thou art Peter,
00:27:33and upon this rock I will build my church,
00:27:36and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
00:27:40But I charge you,
00:27:42tell no man that I am the Christ,
00:27:44for the Son of Man must go into Jerusalem
00:27:46and suffer many things of the elders,
00:27:48the chief priests and the scribes,
00:27:51be killed and raised again upon the third day.
00:27:54Nay.
00:27:55Nay, this shall not be done unto thee.
00:28:00Get thee behind me, Satan,
00:28:05for thou savourest not the things that be of God,
00:28:08but the things that be of men.
00:28:11For whosoever would save his life shall lose it,
00:28:14and whosoever would lose his life for my sake shall find it.
00:28:18For what shall it profit a man
00:28:20if he gain the whole world
00:28:23and lose his own soul?
00:28:30Be killed and raised again on the third day?
00:28:32What shall that mean?
00:28:33I know not, but I fear for him.
00:28:35I too fear for him,
00:28:36and would not have him go into Jerusalem and be killed.
00:28:49Master, we have sought for thee since thou didst lead us in the wilderness.
00:28:52Master, great are thy works, and blessed be thy name.
00:28:56Lord Zadok, this is the man I told you of,
00:28:59the one I saw at Samaria.
00:29:01Be of good cheer, it is I.
00:29:04Rejoice and be exceeding glad,
00:29:06for great is your reward in heaven.
00:29:09Ye are the salt of the earth.
00:29:11Ye are the light of the world.
00:29:14Even so, let your light so shine before men
00:29:17that they may see your good works
00:29:19and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
00:29:23Master, tell us again of the kingdom of heaven.
00:29:29The kingdom of heaven is like unto a net
00:29:32which was cast into the sea and gathered of every kind,
00:29:35which when it was filled,
00:29:37they drew up on the beach,
00:29:39and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels,
00:29:43but the bad they cast away.
00:29:47So shall it be in the end of the world,
00:29:49when the angels shall come forth and sever the wicked
00:29:52from among the righteous.
00:29:55We must seek to catch something out of his mouth
00:29:57that we might accuse him openly before the people.
00:30:01I say unto you that except your righteousness
00:30:03exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
00:30:06ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
00:30:10What sign from heaven showest thou to us
00:30:13that we may believe thee?
00:30:15Yea, Master, show us the sign.
00:30:17The wicked and adulterous generation
00:30:19seeketh after a sign.
00:30:22When ye see a cloud rise out of the west,
00:30:24straightway ye say,
00:30:26there cometh a shower, and so it is.
00:30:28But when ye see the south wind blow,
00:30:30ye say, there will be heat, and it cometh to pass.
00:30:35Ye hypocrites,
00:30:37ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth.
00:30:40How is it ye cannot discern the sign of the times?
00:30:42Yea, true.
00:30:44He is not but a carpenter's son
00:30:46who seeks to mislead the people by perverting the truth.
00:30:49He is the Messiah that is to bring peace on earth.
00:30:52The Messiah.
00:30:54Master.
00:30:58Master, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy,
00:31:02grievously tormented.
00:31:04I will come and heal him.
00:31:05But I am not worthy that thou shouldst come unto my room.
00:31:08I am a Roman centurion.
00:31:10Having unto myself soldiers, I say to thee,
00:31:12Having unto myself soldiers, I say to this one,
00:31:14Go, and he goeth.
00:31:16To another, come, and he cometh.
00:31:18And to my servant, do this, and he doeth it.
00:31:24If thou but speak only the word,
00:31:26my servant shall be healed.
00:31:30Verily I say unto you,
00:31:31I have not seen so great faith.
00:31:34Nay, not in Israel.
00:31:37Go thy way, and as thou hast believed,
00:31:39so shall it be done unto you.
00:31:42Amen.
00:31:47Is he not our king?
00:31:49See the power he has over these Romans.
00:31:52Behold, your king.
00:31:56Master, lo, thy kingdom is at hand.
00:31:59My kingdom.
00:32:00My kingdom is not of this world.
00:32:02It is the kingdom of God.
00:32:04But if he is to be our king,
00:32:06why does he do good for that Roman who is our enemy?
00:32:09Yea, Lord, why?
00:32:10I say unto you, love your enemies.
00:32:12Bless them that curse you.
00:32:14Do good to them that hate you,
00:32:16and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you.
00:32:19Master, teach us to pray.
00:32:22Amen.
00:32:27Come, we've heard enough.
00:32:32When thou prayest,
00:32:33thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are.
00:32:36For they love to pray,
00:32:37standing in the corners of the streets,
00:32:39that they may be seen of men.
00:32:41But thou, when thou prayest,
00:32:44enter into thy closet,
00:32:46and when thou hast shut thy door,
00:32:48pray to thy Father which is in secret,
00:32:51and thy Father which seeth in secret
00:32:54shall reward thee openly.
00:32:56After this manner, therefore, pray ye.
00:33:02Our Father,
00:33:04which art in heaven,
00:33:06hallowed be thy name.
00:33:09Thy kingdom come,
00:33:12thy will be done,
00:33:14in earth as it is in heaven.
00:33:18Give us this day our daily bread,
00:33:22and forgive us our debts,
00:33:25as we forgive our debtors.
00:33:28And lead us,
00:33:30not into temptation,
00:33:32but deliver us from evil.
00:33:35Now, Jesus had a dear friend,
00:33:38a man of Bethany named Lazarus.
00:33:41And Lazarus' sisters, Martha and Mary,
00:33:44sent word to Jesus saying,
00:33:46Lord, behold,
00:33:48he whom thou lovest is sick.
00:33:51But Jesus remained for two days
00:33:54in the place where he was.
00:33:56Then he said,
00:33:57let us go into Judea,
00:34:00to the home of Lazarus and Bethany.
00:34:03And we followed,
00:34:05not knowing that Jesus was going to reveal to us
00:34:08the glory of God
00:34:10that we might believe.
00:34:12Weep not, Martha.
00:34:14The Master is here.
00:34:16But Lazarus is dead.
00:34:21Martha.
00:34:23Master, if thou hadst been here,
00:34:25my brother had not died.
00:34:28Thy brother shall rise again.
00:34:30I know he shall rise again.
00:34:32In the resurrection at the last day.
00:34:35I am the resurrection,
00:34:37and the life.
00:34:39He that believeth in me,
00:34:40though he were dead,
00:34:41yet shall he live.
00:34:43And whosoever liveth and believeth in me
00:34:46shall never die.
00:34:50Believest thou this?
00:34:52I believe thou art the Christ,
00:34:54the Son of God,
00:34:55which is common to the world.
00:34:59Call thy sister.
00:35:02Mary.
00:35:03Mary, the Master is come and calls for thee.
00:35:06Master.
00:35:08Thou hast come at last.
00:35:10If thou had been here,
00:35:12my brother would not have died.
00:35:19He weepeth.
00:35:20Behold how he loved him.
00:35:24Take ye away the stone.
00:35:26But Master, he has been dead four days.
00:35:29Said I not unto thee,
00:35:30that if thou wouldst believe,
00:35:31thou shouldst see the glory of God?
00:35:36Take ye away the stone.
00:35:45Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
00:35:48And I know that thou hearest my prayer.
00:35:51Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
00:35:54And I know that thou hearest me always.
00:35:57But because of the people which stand by,
00:35:59I said it,
00:36:00that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
00:36:09Lazarus,
00:36:11come forth.
00:36:14He liveth.
00:36:16He liveth.
00:36:17Glory be to God.
00:36:19He liveth.
00:36:21Unbind him and let him go.
00:36:24Lazarus.
00:36:26Lazarus.
00:36:28Lazarus.
00:36:30And it being near the Passover,
00:36:33Jesus remained in Bethany for a few days
00:36:36at the home of his friend Lazarus.
00:36:39And the common people learned that he was there.
00:36:42And they came,
00:36:43not for Jesus' sake only,
00:36:46but that they might see Lazarus also,
00:36:48whom he had raised from the dead.
00:36:51And the chief priests took counsel
00:36:53how they might put Lazarus to death.
00:36:56Because by reason of him,
00:36:58many of the people went away
00:37:00and believed on Jesus.
00:37:04The master cometh.
00:37:06Master, will thou not tarry here with us?
00:37:09Here thou art safe.
00:37:10Yea, master.
00:37:11Since the raising of Lazarus,
00:37:12thy fame has spread.
00:37:14Many believe,
00:37:15but some went their ways to the Pharisees
00:37:17and told them the things thou hast done.
00:37:19And they have taken counsel against thee.
00:37:22I have set my face toward Jerusalem.
00:37:24Jerusalem.
00:37:25Master, go not thither.
00:37:27Remain here with us.
00:37:29Sit here, that I may anoint thee
00:37:31with the glory of the Lord.
00:37:33Remain here with us.
00:37:35Sit here, that I may anoint thy feet.
00:37:38Thou know'st how they have sought to stone thee
00:37:40if thou go'st there again.
00:37:41Master, danger awaits thee in Jerusalem.
00:37:44Andrew, go ye to the village.
00:37:47And at your entering,
00:37:48ye shall find a colt tied,
00:37:49whereon yet no man ever sat.
00:37:51Loose him, and bring him hither.
00:37:53And if any man ask you,
00:37:54why do ye loose him?
00:37:55Thus shall ye say unto him,
00:37:57because the Lord hath need of him.
00:37:59Come, Philip, come.
00:38:03Who is this man that hath been raised from the dead?
00:38:06Lazarus.
00:38:07Jesus has raised him.
00:38:09Where is this Lazarus?
00:38:10Within.
00:38:11Martha, his sister, is serving the supper.
00:38:14Why this waste?
00:38:15That ointment is costly.
00:38:17The odor thereof fills the air.
00:38:19Why was not that ointment sold for?
00:38:21For three hundred pence.
00:38:22And the money given to the poor.
00:38:23Let her alone.
00:38:24Why trouble ye her?
00:38:26She hath wrought a good work upon me.
00:38:28The poor ye have with you always.
00:38:30And whensoever ye will,
00:38:32ye may do them good.
00:38:34But me ye have not always.
00:38:41She hath done what she could.
00:38:43She is come aforehand
00:38:45to anoint my body for the burying.
00:38:49Let us question this man.
00:38:58Art thou one of this man's disciples?
00:39:01I am.
00:39:02And yet thou art displeased with him.
00:39:05If I am displeased,
00:39:07it is because I hold the purse
00:39:09and I understand not waste.
00:39:11Nor do we understand it is not waste sin.
00:39:15Who is this woman
00:39:16that doth anoint him with this costly ointment?
00:39:20She is Mary,
00:39:21sister of Lazarus.
00:39:22Lazarus?
00:39:23It is he we have come to see.
00:39:27Yea, where is this Lazarus?
00:39:30I am Lazarus.
00:39:31Behold, Lazarus.
00:39:32He lives, he lives.
00:39:34And why think ye he was dead?
00:39:36We know he was dead.
00:39:38For he lay four days interred in the tomb.
00:39:41But then came the Master again
00:39:43and called him back to life.
00:39:45And straightway he arose from the grave
00:39:47and now does live anew.
00:39:48Tis true, tis true.
00:39:50Hail, Lazarus.
00:39:52Hail, Jesus of Nazareth.
00:39:54Hail, Jesus of Nazareth.
00:39:56We would question this Lazarus.
00:39:58Nay, nay, remain thou within Lazarus.
00:40:01For there are those among the chief priests
00:40:03who would seek to destroy thee too.
00:40:05Come, Lazarus.
00:40:06Darn you, she this.
00:40:08What would ye?
00:40:09Why came he hither?
00:40:10We come but to learn of thee and thy reputed power.
00:40:13We have heard thou disheal the sick,
00:40:15cause the blind to see,
00:40:17and cast out devils.
00:40:19Who art thou?
00:40:20Art thou the Christ?
00:40:21By what power do ye thee think?
00:40:23O Christ, show us thy power that we too may serve thee.
00:40:26How but through the power of God can one cast out devils?
00:40:29If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself.
00:40:33How then shall his kingdom stand?
00:40:36Well hath Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites,
00:40:40who honoreth me with their lips,
00:40:41but their heart is far from me.
00:40:43If any man would serve me, let him follow me.
00:40:46And where I am, there also shall my servant be.
00:40:49If any man serve me, him will my father honor.
00:40:53Master! Master!
00:40:55Thy name is upon every tongue.
00:40:57A multitude doth followeth hither.
00:40:59They bear palm branches and cry, Hosanna to thy name.
00:41:03Hosanna! Blessed be the king that cometh in the name of the Lord.
00:41:07Hosanna!
00:41:08King, would ye have this man usurp the power of Caesar?
00:41:12Yea, for he is the son of David,
00:41:14Lord of lords, king of Judea.
00:41:17King of Judea!
00:41:18Master, this is the hour that I've been waiting for.
00:41:21Thy kingdom is at hand.
00:41:24Now is my soul troubled, and what shall I say?
00:41:28Father, save me from this hour.
00:41:30My son.
00:41:32Mother.
00:41:33My son, I beseech thee, go not into Jerusalem.
00:41:38For this cause came I unto this hour.
00:41:41Be it so then, as thou wilt.
00:41:44Mary, mother of Jesus, remain here.
00:41:47In the comfort of thy friends.
00:41:49Behold my mother and my brethren.
00:41:52For whosoever would do the will of God,
00:41:54the same is my brother, my sister, and my mother.
00:41:58Master, we have found the cult, even as thou hast said.
00:42:05Behold, we go up to Jerusalem.
00:42:07Hail, Jesus of Nazareth.
00:42:09Rule of Israel.
00:42:10King of kings.
00:42:11King of kings.
00:42:12Such speech is treason.
00:42:14Hail!
00:42:15Master, rebuke thy disciples.
00:42:18I tell thee that if these should hold their feasts,
00:42:21the stones would immediately cry out.
00:42:24Holana!
00:42:26Holana, holana, holana.
00:42:30Holana in the highest.
00:42:35Holana, holana, holana.
00:42:40Holana to our king.
00:42:45Holana, holana, holana.
00:42:50Holana in the highest.
00:42:55Holana, holana, holana.
00:43:00Holana to our king.
00:43:06And during the Passover week,
00:43:08thousands of devout Israelites made the pilgrimage
00:43:11to the Jerusalem temple to worship
00:43:13and to place burnt offerings on the altar.
00:43:16And the profits of the money changers
00:43:18and the vendors who sold sheep and doves were very great.
00:43:23Change of foreign coins for sacrificial money.
00:43:30But I tell thee there is an error.
00:43:32Nay, nay, that is the exchange value.
00:43:34According to the temple regulations, I cannot give thee more.
00:43:37But thou art demanding a fourth more than the exchange value.
00:43:40Thou art robbing me of 40 pence.
00:43:42That is my lawful profit.
00:43:43How else can I pay silver to the temple treasury for a license?
00:43:46Get thee hence.
00:43:47Nay, thou hast robbed me of 40 pence.
00:43:49I shall complain to the priest.
00:43:53Make way for Lord Zadok and the priests of the high temple.
00:43:57Lord Zadok, he...
00:44:08Who is this beggar?
00:44:10A blind man. I've seen him often.
00:44:12Men say he was born blind.
00:44:19How then dost thou now see?
00:44:21Canst thou see?
00:44:22Nay, now I can see.
00:44:25Thou hast purtained thy blindness.
00:44:27Nay, nay, men know I was born blind.
00:44:29Jesus of Nazareth hath given me my sight.
00:44:31I follow him.
00:44:33Will he not also be his disciples?
00:44:35We are Moses' disciples.
00:44:36We know that God spake unto Moses.
00:44:38As for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
00:44:41But he hath healed me.
00:44:42Were he not of God, he could do nothing.
00:44:44Thou wert altogether born in sin.
00:44:47Dost thou presume to teach us?
00:44:50Get thee hence.
00:44:51Away with thee.
00:44:52Away with thee.
00:44:54Out of this temple thou shalt not be gone.
00:44:56Be gone away.
00:44:58Who is this Jesus?
00:45:00Was he truly blind or did he see?
00:45:03Melchizedek.
00:45:04Ay, Melchizedek.
00:45:05Tis he, Jesus of Nazareth.
00:45:07With his disciples?
00:45:08Yea, Lord Zadok.
00:45:09Prepare palm branches and sing Hosanna.
00:45:11They call him the Christ and King of Israel.
00:45:13We must put an end to this.
00:45:15Melchizedek.
00:45:17He must be discredited with the people.
00:45:20Yea, Lord Zadok, but how?
00:45:33Hosanna.
00:45:35Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord.
00:45:37Hosanna.
00:45:39Hear ye what they say?
00:45:40They call him King.
00:45:43Why bring ye children?
00:45:45Call them unto you.
00:45:46Forbid them not.
00:45:48Suffer the little children to come unto me.
00:45:50For of such is the kingdom of heaven.
00:45:53Verily I say unto you,
00:45:54Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of heaven as a little child,
00:45:58he shall not enter therein.
00:46:08He that entereth not by the door of the sheepfold,
00:46:10but climbeth up some other way,
00:46:12the same as a thief and a robber.
00:46:14But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep,
00:46:17and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
00:46:20Sheep always know the voice of the shepherd.
00:46:22Yea, he calls them and they follow him.
00:46:25And a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him,
00:46:28for they know not the voice of strangers.
00:46:30Yea, they always flee from strangers.
00:46:36I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep, and am known of mine.
00:46:41And I lay down my life for the sheep.
00:46:46Master.
00:46:49Good master.
00:46:50What shall I do that I too may inherit eternal life?
00:46:55Why callest thou me good?
00:46:57There is none good but one.
00:46:59That is God.
00:47:02Thou knowest the commandments.
00:47:03Do not commit adultery.
00:47:04Do not kill.
00:47:05Do not steal.
00:47:06Do not bear false witness.
00:47:07Befraud not.
00:47:08Honor thy father and thy mother.
00:47:10But master, all these things have I observed from my youth.
00:47:14One thing thou lackest.
00:47:17Go thy way.
00:47:18Sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor.
00:47:21And thou shalt have treasure in heaven.
00:47:23And come, take up thy cross and follow me.
00:47:27Alas, master.
00:47:29I have great possessions.
00:47:32I cannot sell all these things that I have.
00:47:42We must snare him into saying something that will condemn him.
00:47:47He calls himself king of Judea.
00:47:50Let us question him concerning tribute to Caesar.
00:47:53Surely this will condemn him.
00:48:01Master.
00:48:03We know thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth.
00:48:07And regardest not the person of man.
00:48:10Is it therefore lawful to give tribute to Caesar?
00:48:14Why tempt ye me?
00:48:16Why tempt ye me?
00:48:18Give me a penny that I may see it.
00:48:20Here, old Zadok.
00:48:26Whose is this image and superscription?
00:48:28Caesar's.
00:48:30Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's.
00:48:34And unto God the things that are God's.
00:48:39Master.
00:48:41Which is the great commandment in the law?
00:48:44Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy strength.
00:48:49The second is like unto it.
00:48:53Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
00:48:57On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophet.
00:49:05A woman was taken in adultery.
00:49:07Malchus.
00:49:08Master.
00:49:09This woman was taken in adultery in the very act.
00:49:13Now Moses in the law commanded that such should be stoned.
00:49:18But what sayest thou?
00:49:28What sayest thou?
00:49:30Yea, answer this thou king of Judea.
00:49:33She is a sinner. Should she not be stoned?
00:49:35Yea.
00:49:36He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.
00:49:42At her.
00:49:49Woman.
00:49:52Where are thee, thine accusers?
00:49:56Hath no man condemned thee?
00:49:59No man, master.
00:50:01Neither do I condemn thee.
00:50:04Go, and sin no more.
00:50:09He hath forgiven her.
00:50:11Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things?
00:50:14Yea, tell us.
00:50:15I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me,
00:50:18I in likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
00:50:23The baptism of John, whence was it, from heaven or of men?
00:50:32If we shall say from heaven, then he will say unto us,
00:50:34Why did ye not then believe him?
00:50:37But if we say of men, we fear the people, for all hold John as a prophet.
00:50:45Indeed, master, we cannot tell from whence it was.
00:50:49Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
00:50:52Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life.
00:50:56And they are they which testify of me.
00:50:59Had ye believed in Moses, ye would have believed in me.
00:51:02But if ye believe not his writings, how can ye believe in my words?
00:51:06Did not Moses give you the law?
00:51:08And yet none of you keepeth the law.
00:51:11Thou hast healed many on the Sabbath day, and this is not lawful.
00:51:15And are ye angry because I have healed on the Sabbath?
00:51:18Is it unlawful on the Sabbath day to do good?
00:51:21The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
00:51:25Verily I say unto you, that publicans and harlots go into the kingdom of God before you,
00:51:30for John came to you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not.
00:51:33But the publicans and harlots believed him.
00:51:35Nay, nay, thou hast deceived me.
00:51:37I tell thee, I take no more than my lawful profit.
00:51:39Thou didst rob me, even as thou didst rob my sister.
00:51:42Be, be.
00:51:43I'll curse upon thy entire family. Off with thee.
00:51:46Take these things hence.
00:51:47All my money, my money, my money.
00:51:49Take these things hence.
00:51:51Make not my house a house of merchandise.
00:51:54It is written it shall be called a house of prayer.
00:51:56Ye have made it a den of thieves.
00:51:58Take these things hence.
00:52:00This is beyond endurance.
00:52:02Are we to stand by and see him overthrow the authority of the priest?
00:52:05He stirreth up the people and should be taken.
00:52:08Take these things hence.
00:52:10Take these things hence.
00:52:12Take them hence.
00:52:15What sign showest thou to us?
00:52:17Seeing thou doest these things, show us a sign.
00:52:20Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
00:52:24Three days?
00:52:25Forty and six years was this temple in the building, and thou wilt rid it in three days.
00:52:29From whence art thou?
00:52:30I came down from heaven.
00:52:32Yea, he is indeed the Son of God.
00:52:34Hosanna!
00:52:35If ye continue in my word, ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
00:52:39We be of Abraham's seed, and we're never in bondage to any man.
00:52:43How sayest thou, ye shall be made free?
00:52:46If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
00:52:50Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day.
00:52:53He saw it and was glad.
00:52:55Thou art not yet fifty years old, and thou hast seen Abraham.
00:52:59For Abraham was.
00:53:03I am.
00:53:04Believer!
00:53:05I give glory to you, scribes and Pharisees.
00:53:08Hypocrites, ye have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith.
00:53:13Ye blind guys, ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward,
00:53:18but are within full of dead men's bones and of all uncleanness.
00:53:23Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
00:53:29For behold, I send unto you prophets, wise men, and scribes.
00:53:34Some of them shall ye kill and crucify, and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues,
00:53:39and persecute them from city to city, that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth.
00:53:49Hosanna!
00:53:52Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
00:53:56Hosanna in the highest!
00:54:01Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
00:54:05Lord Zadok, the high priest Caiaphas.
00:54:09Most worthy Caiaphas, this man Jesus of Nazareth stirreth up the people to rebel against our religion.
00:54:17He must be taken. He must be taken when alone with his disciples.
00:54:22To void an immediate uprising, let us merely say that we imprison him.
00:54:26Then someone must be found to seek out his hiding place.
00:54:29But no one knows where he dwelleth.
00:54:31My lord Caiaphas, here is the man who knows where Jesus doth resort.
00:54:36What is thy name?
00:54:38Judas Iscariot, the disciple of Jesus.
00:54:41Thou wouldst deliver him?
00:54:43My lord Caiaphas, what wouldst thou give him?
00:54:47It is written in the scripture that the goodly price for a slave is thirty pieces of silver.
00:54:53Thirty pieces of silver?
00:54:55Count out thirty pieces of silver.
00:54:57This man is a menace to our religion.
00:55:00It would be well to imprison him.
00:55:02Imprison him for a short time to prevent his uttering any more extreme doctrines.
00:55:08Thou wouldst do well to help us.
00:55:12What sayest thou?
00:55:20What sayest thou?
00:55:27I will deliver him into your hands.
00:55:32Into your hands.
00:55:39And on Thursday of that week, all Israelites celebrated the feast of the Passover at sundown.
00:55:46In a room of a house on Mount Zion, we twelve disciples were called to eat the feast with our beloved master.
00:55:55And he loved us all, even Judas.
00:55:58But truly, Jesus was the son of God, sent to save the world.
00:56:06Ye call me master and lord, and ye say well, for so I am.
00:56:11Your lord and master has washed your feet.
00:56:14Ye ought also to wash one another's feet.
00:56:16For which is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth?
00:56:20Master, we know that he that serveth and is humble is greater in the kingdom of heaven.
00:56:26If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
00:56:32When I sent you forth without purse and scrip and shoe, lacked ye anything?
00:56:37Nothing.
00:56:39Yet all ye shall be offended because of me this night.
00:56:43For it is written, the Lord will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
00:56:49Nay, master, although all others may be offended, yet will not I.
00:56:55I say unto you that this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.
00:57:05Master, if I were to die with thee, yet would I not deny thee in any wise.
00:57:12Nor will I, master.
00:57:14I speak not of you all.
00:57:16I know whom I have chosen.
00:57:19But he that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me.
00:57:26Verily I say unto you that one of you shall betray me.
00:57:33Master, this cannot be.
00:57:35Who among us would betray thee?
00:57:37Master, is it I?
00:57:39Lord, is it I?
00:57:41Lord, is it I?
00:57:43Is it I, Lord?
00:57:45Is it I?
00:57:46Is it I, Lord?
00:57:49Master, who is it?
00:57:54He it is to whom I shall give a sot when I have dipped.
00:58:00The Son of Man goeth as it is written of him.
00:58:03But woe unto that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed.
00:58:08It had been good for that man if he had not been bought.
00:58:16Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
00:58:22With desire I have desire to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
00:58:40This is my body which is given for you.
00:58:44Take it.
00:58:47Eat.
00:58:49This do in remembrance of me.
00:59:04This is my blood of the New Testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
00:59:10Drink ye all of it.
00:59:13Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine
00:59:17until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
00:59:42THE END

01:00:42© BF-WATCH TV 2021
01:01:12That which thou doest, do quickly.
01:01:42Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
01:02:00THE END
01:02:10Little children, yet a little while I am with you.
01:02:16Ye shall seek me, but whither I go ye cannot come.
01:02:21So now a new commandment give I unto you,
01:02:24that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.
01:02:28Lord, wilt thou leave us, and shall we see thee no more?
01:02:32Whither goest thou? Why cannot I follow thee?
01:02:37Whither I go thou canst not follow me now, but thou shalt follow me afterward.
01:02:45Lord, what meanest thou?
01:02:48Let not your heart be troubled.
01:02:50Ye believe in God?
01:02:52Yea.
01:02:53Believe also in me.
01:02:56In my Father's house are many mansions.
01:02:59If it were not so, I would have told you.
01:03:02I go to prepare a place for you, and whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
01:03:08Lord, we know not whither thou goest, and how can we know the way?
01:03:14I am the way, the truth, and the life.
01:03:17No man cometh unto the Father but by me.
01:03:20Master, show us the Father.
01:03:24Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?
01:03:30He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.
01:03:37If ye love me, keep my commandment, and I will pray the Father,
01:03:41and he will send you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever.
01:03:45Lord, who is this other comforter?
01:03:49Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive,
01:03:54because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him,
01:03:59but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
01:04:09Hereafter I will not talk much with you,
01:04:13for the Prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me,
01:04:18but that the world may know that I love the Father,
01:04:22and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.
01:04:35Father, the hour is come.
01:04:40I have finished the work thou gavest me to do.
01:04:44I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world.
01:04:49I have given them thy word,
01:04:53and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world,
01:04:59even as I am not of the world.
01:05:07Sanctify them through thy truth,
01:05:12thy word is truth.
01:05:20And we went with him to the Garden of Gethsemane.
01:05:24It had been a frequent meeting place of our group.
01:05:28Judas knew it well, and Jesus knew that Judas knew.
01:05:34Carry ye here and watch with me, while I go and pray yonder.
01:05:40My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death.
01:05:56Father, glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee.
01:06:05O my Father, all things are possible unto thee.
01:06:12If thou be willing, remove this cup from me.
01:06:17Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done.
01:06:48Simon Peter, sleepest thou?
01:06:54Couldst thou not watch with me one hour?
01:06:57Forgive me, Lord, but we are exceeding weary and sorrow-pressed.
01:07:02The Spirit is willing.
01:07:05The Spirit is willing.
01:07:08The Spirit is willing.
01:07:11The Spirit is willing.
01:07:14Blessed, the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
01:07:23Thine, let us be going.
01:07:28Behold, he is at hand that doth betray thee.
01:07:37How will we know which is the man?
01:07:41Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he.
01:07:48Master.
01:07:57Master.
01:08:00Judas.
01:08:02Betrayest thou the Son of man with a kid?
01:08:06Judas, thou traitor.
01:08:08What means it if they come to pick them up?
01:08:10Nay, nay, this shall not be.
01:08:12Yea, that is he.
01:08:14Whom seek ye?
01:08:15Jesus of Nazareth.
01:08:17I am he.
01:08:19Let us take them all.
01:08:21Yea, let us take them all.
01:08:23If then ye seek me, let us take them all.
01:08:26Let us take them all.
01:08:28If then ye seek me, let these go their way.
01:08:31Away, away.
01:08:32Let these go out to...
01:08:34My ear, my ear.
01:08:36Take him, take him.
01:08:40Suffer ye thus far.
01:08:57My ear.
01:08:59It is restored.
01:09:01It is the power of Satan.
01:09:03Take him and bind him.
01:09:04We must take him to Lord Caiaphas tonight.
01:09:06He must be tried tonight.
01:09:08But tomorrow is the Feast of the Passover.
01:09:10Bind him.
01:09:12Be ye come out as against a thief with swords and with staves.
01:09:16When I was daily with you in the temple, he stretched forth no hand against me.
01:09:21But this is your hour and the power of darkness.
01:09:26Take him, Hades.
01:09:27Come with me.
01:09:37And all of my fellow disciples, fearing for their own safety,
01:09:42disappeared into the night,
01:09:44fleeing for their lives
01:09:47and leaving our master alone with his enemies.
01:09:52And they bound him and led him away to the house of Caiaphas, the high priest,
01:09:57where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
01:10:01And I followed Jesus afar off
01:10:04because I felt ashamed that I had deserted him.
01:10:12Woman awake.
01:10:15Oh, boy, it's good for sleep.
01:10:19Awake, I say.
01:10:20What meanest thou?
01:10:22Say unto Caiaphas that Jesus is taken.
01:10:24Lord Zadok is bringing him here to be tried tonight.
01:10:26But the dawn hath not yet come.
01:10:28Go.
01:10:29They're mad.
01:10:30Bringing a man for trial by night is against all Jewish law.
01:10:35Hurry, woman.
01:10:37I have never spent a colder night.
01:10:39Come closer.
01:10:41Thou canst not feel the fire from there.
01:10:43The cage is bitter cold.
01:10:45Hey, fire would be welcome.
01:10:49Art thou not one of Jesus' disciples?
01:10:52I am not.
01:10:54Did I not see thee in the garden with him?
01:10:57I tell you I know him not.
01:10:59Surely thou art one of them.
01:11:01Thy speech betrayeth thee.
01:11:03I tell you I am not one of Jesus' men.
01:11:05I know him not.
01:11:13My Lord Caiaphas,
01:11:43Prosecutor.
01:11:44Our assembly has been called before thee
01:11:46to judge this man Jesus,
01:11:48who stirreth up the Israelites to rebel against our God.
01:11:52Speak on.
01:11:53He hath perverted the nation
01:11:55by saying that he himself is the Son of God,
01:11:58even the Christ,
01:12:00and many call him King of Israel.
01:12:03Speak.
01:12:04What is thy doctrine?
01:12:06The nobleness asked him the same question,
01:12:08and he answered rather insolently.
01:12:10My Lord High Priest.
01:12:11The learned Nicodemus will be heard.
01:12:13I declare this trial is being conducted contrary to our custom.
01:12:17Nicodemus,
01:12:18don't forget that the Passover is close at hand,
01:12:21and it is needful therefore that we conduct a hasty trial.
01:12:25We have met at this illegal hour at night to condemn the accused,
01:12:29which is, as ye know,
01:12:31contrary to the laws of this high council chamber.
01:12:34But Israel has suffered enough,
01:12:36and we can no longer endure a man who calls himself
01:12:39King of Israel,
01:12:40lest the Romans take away both our places and our nation.
01:12:43But are the members of this high council
01:12:46to be both judges and accusers in one?
01:12:49My just court will act both fairly and without prejudice.
01:12:53The witnesses shall be called,
01:12:55and the accused permitted to defend himself.
01:12:57Prosecutor, proceed.
01:12:59Call thy witnesses.
01:13:01Judas is carried.
01:13:02Step forth.
01:13:05As a Pharisee, I protest.
01:13:08This man has betrayed the accused,
01:13:11and according to our law,
01:13:12a betrayer cannot testify against him.
01:13:15Nicodemus, thy tongue has been much perverse of late.
01:13:19We know thou leanest towards the teachings of this Galilean,
01:13:22and this above all proves how far his false teachings have extended.
01:13:26But this betrayer, Judas Iscariot,
01:13:28cannot testify against the accused.
01:13:31It is our law.
01:13:33I am in agreement with the learned Nicodemus.
01:13:36A betrayer cannot testify.
01:13:38Prosecutor, hast thou other witnesses?
01:13:41Yea, my lord, careless.
01:13:43There is a witness among many who hath heard him say
01:13:47he was able to destroy the temple of God
01:13:50and build it up in three days.
01:13:52Call this witness.
01:13:55Jacob Jehoshaphat.
01:13:58I am here.
01:13:59Step forward.
01:14:03Knowest thou the penalty for bearing false witnesses?
01:14:06Yea, I am a moneychanger in the temple.
01:14:09I know the law.
01:14:10Look upon the accused and give witness.
01:14:14With mine own ears I did hear him say
01:14:17that the scribes and the Pharisees were a generation of vipers
01:14:20who could not escape the damnation of hell,
01:14:23that they do not keep the laws of Moses,
01:14:25and that publicans and harlots would go into the kingdom of heaven before them.
01:14:29And furthermore...
01:14:30Witness excused.
01:14:32With thy permission.
01:14:37Ye have heard the testimony?
01:14:39This prophet has started a rebellion against our religion.
01:14:44Is he greater than Moses, who gave us the law?
01:14:48The man himself shall answer.
01:14:51Art thou the Christ?
01:14:56Art thou the Christ, the Son of God?
01:15:00If I tell you, he will not believe.
01:15:02And if I ask you, he will not answer me, nor let me go.
01:15:06I adjure thee by the living God that thou tell us
01:15:09whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
01:15:15I am.
01:15:16Blasphemy!
01:15:17What need he further witness? Ye have heard the blasphemy?
01:15:19What think ye?
01:15:20He is guilty. He should be put to death. He must die.
01:15:23Nay, nay, we cannot.
01:15:25It is contrary to the laws of Israel.
01:15:29The learned Nicodemus is right.
01:15:31We cannot put a man to death.
01:15:33But this man calls himself king of Israel.
01:15:36Does that not make him an enemy of Rome?
01:15:39And is not rebellion against the Roman government punishable by death?
01:15:43That is the Roman law.
01:15:46Then take him to Pilate.
01:15:49Take him ahead.
01:15:50Come thou.
01:15:52When the crowds gather in the streets,
01:15:54they must be led to Pilate's balcony,
01:15:56that he may hear the angry voices of Jerusalem
01:15:59crying out for Nazarene's death.
01:16:01Nay, nay, I say.
01:16:04You are sending him to his death.
01:16:06You did say you would imprison him for a short time.
01:16:09And now you are sending him to Pilate and to his death.
01:16:12Get thee hence.
01:16:14I have betrayed and forsaken you.
01:16:17And to his death.
01:16:18Get thee hence.
01:16:20I have betrayed innocent blood.
01:16:22What is that to us?
01:16:23See now to that.
01:16:24Thou hast thy silver.
01:16:26Get thee hence.
01:16:29Take back thy silver and set Jesus free.
01:16:33God, I say, get thee gone.
01:16:39I have betrayed innocent blood.
01:16:42I have betrayed my master.
01:16:46I do not want the money.
01:16:58What shall be done with the 30 pieces of silver?
01:17:03Let us buy with it the potter's field to bury strangers in.
01:17:07It is not lawful to put it in the treasury
01:17:10because it is the price of blood.
01:17:15How can I speak calmly of what now happened?
01:17:18Jesus had said,
01:17:20Woe unto that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed.
01:17:24Good word for that man if he had not been born.
01:17:28Jesus foresaw the fate of one of the disciples.
01:17:32For Judas took a rope and hanged himself.
01:17:36A martyr only to himself.
01:17:40And Jesus was led away and delivered up to the all-powerful Pontius Pilate,
01:17:45Roman governor of Judea,
01:17:47who talked with Jesus but sent him to Herod.
01:17:51But the wicked Herod was only amused
01:17:54and told the soldiers to take him back to Pilate.
01:18:04He brought this man to my judgment hall earlier today.
01:18:07I examined him before you and found no fault in him.
01:18:10When I learned he was a Galilean,
01:18:12I sent him to Herod Antipas, the tetrarch of Galilee,
01:18:15and even he found no fault in him,
01:18:17for he has sent him back to me.
01:18:19I tell thee, therefore, I would release this man.
01:18:22Nay! Nay! Nay!
01:18:23Thou must not release this blasphemer.
01:18:26But what accusation bring you against him?
01:18:29He is an imposter who calls himself the Son of God.
01:18:33Well, why come ye to me?
01:18:35Take him and judge him according to your law.
01:18:38But it is not lawful for us to put any man to death.
01:18:41Therefore we have come to thee.
01:18:43But I find nothing worthy of death has been done by him.
01:18:47Nothing worthy of death?
01:18:49He forbids to give tribute to Caesar
01:18:51and perverts the nation by saying that he himself is king of the Jews.
01:18:58Art thou king of the Jews?
01:19:02Sayest thou this thing of thyself,
01:19:04or did others tell it thee of me?
01:19:06Thine own nation has delivered thee unto thee.
01:19:09Answer, what hast thou done?
01:19:11Art thou king of the Jews?
01:19:14My kingdom is not of this world.
01:19:17From whence art thou then?
01:19:20Speakest thou not to me?
01:19:23Knowest thou not that I have the power to crucify thee
01:19:27and the power to release thee?
01:19:30Nay! Nay!
01:19:31If thou release this man, thou art no friend of Caesar.
01:19:35Whoever proclaims himself a king is a traitor to Caesar.
01:19:38A traitor! A traitor!
01:19:40Art thou a king then?
01:19:43I am a king of the Jews.
01:19:46A traitor! A traitor!
01:19:48Art thou a king then?
01:19:51Thou sayest that I am a king.
01:19:54To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world,
01:19:58that I should bear witness unto the truth.
01:20:01Every one that hears of the truth,
01:20:04heareth my voice.
01:20:06What is truth?
01:20:12I find no fault in this man.
01:20:15No fault in him?
01:20:17Think ye that Caesar will speak in like manner
01:20:19when informed that his governor protected a man
01:20:22who calls himself a king in Judea?
01:20:25I have hearkened enough to the bitterness of thy accusations.
01:20:28I will test the temper of the people.
01:20:31Take him and scourge him.
01:20:40My lord pilot, tidings from thy wife.
01:20:44She beseeches that thou hast no dealings with this just man,
01:20:47for she hath suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
01:20:50Would that she might witness what I intend.
01:20:53Open the gates.
01:20:54Open the gates!
01:20:57Open the gates!
01:21:10You have asked me to deal with this man.
01:21:14Listen.
01:21:26What?
01:21:42I suppose we'll now be satisfied.
01:21:51Behold the man.
01:21:56Does he look like a king now?
01:21:59Has he not been punished enough?
01:22:01Nay, nay. He is an enemy of Caesar.
01:22:04He must be put to death.
01:22:06He should be killed.
01:22:07He is a false prophet.
01:22:08He calls himself a king.
01:22:09He is an enemy of Moses.
01:22:10He is an enemy of Caesar.
01:22:12Silence.
01:22:15Answerest thou not he?
01:22:17Behold how many things they witnessed against thee.
01:22:20He dare not answer. He cannot deny his guilt.
01:22:23Ye have a custom that I should release unto you one prisoner at the Passover.
01:22:28Will ye therefore that I release unto you your king?
01:22:32Nay, nay. Not this man, but Barabbas.
01:22:37What then shall I do with this man?
01:22:39Crucify him.
01:22:43Would you have me crucify your king?
01:22:46We have no king. Only Caesar.
01:22:54Silence.
01:23:07I am innocent of the blood of this just man.
01:23:10See ye.
01:23:11Barabbas. Give us Barabbas.
01:23:13As you will, Barabbas.
01:23:15Who is cast into prison for sedition and murder shall be released.
01:23:21Have your way with Jesus.
01:23:23Let him be crucified.
01:23:32And so our innocent master, the son of God,
01:23:36was led away to the place of execution, Calvary.
01:23:41Too weak to bear his cross all the way,
01:23:44Simon of Cyrene had to carry the cursed load for him.
01:23:50And they nailed him to the cross,
01:23:52and two robbers were crucified with him.
01:23:55And they nailed him to the cross, and two robbers were crucified with him.
01:24:21If thou art the Son of God, descend, and we shall believe in thee.
01:24:29Come down, friend, and join us.
01:24:36Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
01:24:45Woman, behold thy son. Son, behold thy mother.
01:24:57If thou be the Christ, save thyself and us.
01:25:03Dost thou not fear God? We receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man hath done nothing amiss.
01:25:12Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
01:25:16Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
01:25:24After Jesus had been on the cross for three hours, and the sixth hour of the day had come,
01:25:30there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
01:25:34And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rampt in the midst.
01:25:42My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
01:25:50I thirst.
01:26:05It is finished.
01:26:09Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.
01:26:35Truly, this man was the son of God.
01:26:48And the body of Jesus was laid in the tomb, and the stone rolled against the door.
01:26:54Awake! Awake, I say! You're on watch!
01:26:58But wherefore a death watch for three days?
01:27:01While this man was alive, he said that after three days he would rise again.
01:27:04By all our gods, know they not that the tomb is of stone, and the seal cannot be broken?
01:27:09The chief priest demanded of Pilate that he place a watch for three days,
01:27:12lest his disciples steal him away and say unto the people that he rose from the dead.
01:27:17The third day is here. There should be nothing to fear, and the watch should be ended.
01:27:21To your stations.
01:27:31And on the third day after the death of Jesus, the faithful women who had followed him
01:27:37took the spices and ointments which they had prepared,
01:27:40and started out for the tomb of Jesus to anoint his body.
01:27:44Look! The stone has rolled away.
01:27:47How strange! Let us go into the tomb.
01:27:50Yea, I will go with thee.
01:28:02An angel in the tomb, arrayed in a white robe, said unto us,
01:28:06Fear ye not, for I know that ye seek Jesus.
01:28:09He is not here, for he is risen.
01:28:12Come, let us tell it to Scythia.
01:28:32They have taken away my Lord.
01:28:35They have taken him away.
01:28:40Woman, why weepest thou?
01:28:44They have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
01:28:53Mary.
01:28:58Master.
01:29:00Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended unto my Father.
01:29:04But go unto my brethren, and say unto them,
01:29:07I ascend unto my Father and your Father,
01:29:11and unto my God and your God.
01:29:24And Mary of Magdala came and told us that she had seen Jesus.
01:29:29This seemed too good to be true.
01:29:32We did not believe her.
01:29:34But at that same day, he appeared to two of his followers, going to Emmaus,
01:29:39and likewise to me, the unworthy disciple who had denied him.
01:29:45And in the evening, Jesus showed himself to the whole group of apostles.
01:29:51And afterwards, all the eleven disciples went into Galilee,
01:29:56unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed us.
01:30:00And finally, he showed himself to us on the Mount of Olives.
01:30:06Peace be unto you.
01:30:13Why are ye troubled, and wherefore do reasonings arise in your hearts?
01:30:18See my hands and my feet, for it is I myself.
01:30:23For thus it was written that the Christ should suffer,
01:30:26and rise again from the dead the third day,
01:30:29and repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name.
01:30:34Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
01:30:38teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.
01:30:46My blessing I give unto you.
01:30:50Lo, I am with you always, even unto the ends of the world.
01:31:20O come, O come, O come, O come, O come, O come, to Bethlehem.
01:31:41O come, O come, O come, O come, to Bethlehem.
01:31:50Here the Son of Man is born, O come, O come, O come, O come.
01:31:58Oh, Nana, oh, Nana, oh, Nana, oh, Nana, where are you?
