00:54been a matter of days since Richard had signed a contract with Annie, but now the entire industry
01:00had turned its back on her. It all feels like a bad dream, she thought. Annie was desperate to
01:07see Bridget or Richard again, but it was far more difficult for her to do this, now that they didn't
01:13mix in any of the same circles. She even returned to the apartment that she had once shared with
01:18Bridget to see if she could find her, but Bridget had moved out. Annie wasn't quite ready to admit
01:24defeat. She found out where Bridget was living now and went there to wait. When Bridget saw her
01:30there, she simply sat in the car and stared at her. You could be rubbing her face in it right now.
01:38What's going on? Richard asked, confused that his client wasn't already tearing into the other

03:59I can focus on that. He said he was still determined to seek revenge for Bridget.
04:06How do you feel about Bridget? Emma asked. Richard shrugged. She's just a client.
04:14How should I feel about her? He responded, attempting to brush the question aside.
04:19Bridget's life would soon change in a major way, but Emma had to keep quiet for now.
04:24When people found out who she really was, they were bound to be shocked. She particularly looked
04:31forward to seeing Richard's face when he found out that he'd been bossing around Eric's sister.
04:35But Emma had no idea that Richard had secrets of his own, just six months after it had been formed.
04:42The production company behind The Savage Wars was disbanded. The film's investors had also
04:48been prosecuted for tax evasion, and everyone involved had been thrown into jail. It was then
04:54that Emma discovered that Richard had sold his home and replaced his sports car with something
04:58much more sensible. Where has all of his money gone? Emma thought. Can you help me figure out
05:06why Richard is having money problems? She asked Eric when he arrived home from work.
05:12He spent it all on his lawyer's fees. He replied, he came to me to ask my advice before he got the
05:20ball rolling. Did he really do all of that to get rid of Matt? Emma asked. Richard prides himself
05:27on protecting the people he cares about. Eric took off his jacket and set down his laptop.
05:33He's done it all for Bridget because he believes in her. It might be reckless, but I can't fault
05:39his loyalty. Emma sighed in response. If Bridget found out, she would be heartbroken. She said,
05:47wrapping her arms around Eric's waist to bring him in for a hug.
05:51Seeing as things have calmed down with her, do you think we should confront Marjorie now?
05:57I can't bear the thought of Eliza living like that for so long because of that woman.
06:02We should wait until after you've given birth. Eric gently rubbed Emma's bump and grinned when
06:08his child seemed to kick back at him. I don't want to put either of you in any danger. Having
06:15felt the flutter in her stomach too, Emma looked down and marveled at the little life that she and
06:21her husband had made. It never ceased to fill her with awe. I need to travel for work in a couple
06:27of days. Can you come with me? Eric asked. Kaleidoscope has a new base for its film and
06:34television operations. He replied, you know I have to go when we open these places. Emma paused to
06:42think about all the traveling she would have to do. She would also be distracting her husband from
06:48all the necessary networking he did at these events. It doesn't make any sense for me to go
06:54with you. Eliza is here now, so I'll be fine staying home, she said. I'll only have to miss

08:01and the weather turned bitterly cold as filming carried on well into the night. After Blake
08:07finished filming and spotted Brigitte huddled up in her chair, he grabbed a blanket from his
08:12assistant and wrapped it around her from behind. She turned around and smiled. Thank you, she said.
08:19I'm freezing my butt off out here. You're pretty clever, you know, he replied as he glanced at the
08:25director, who was wearing the clothes and wrapped up in a blanket that Brigitte had given him.
08:30I know you've been doing favors for the director to make up for all your mistakes on set,
08:36so he hasn't given anyone a hard time for messing up. You might not be as skilled as Emma,
08:41but your people skills are top notch. My acting skills are still not good enough,
08:47she said. I need to improve if I want to succeed, no matter how much work it takes. You really don't
08:53need to constantly practice in front of a mirror and do favors for people, he said. You just need
08:59to follow your instincts. I picked you for this role because you're a great fit for the character,
09:05so please stop doubting yourself. You can do this. Thanks for the encouragement, she said. This is
09:12all so new to me, and I want to make sure that I do things right. It's kind of weird, he said with
09:18a chuckle. You're sassy and opportunistic, and I usually hate people like that, but for some reason
09:25I can't seem to hate you. You're just that likable. Keep it up. He patted her on the shoulder and then
09:33left. Brigitte hugged the blanket tightly to her body and jumped for joy. He really believes in me,
09:39she thought. I can do this. Richard was there watching the interaction. He had seen how Blake
09:46had wrapped the blanket around her so tenderly. She must be excited to have gotten special
09:51treatment from him, he thought. He glanced at her with a sad expression as he held onto the blanket
09:59in his hands and then snuck off the set. Brigitte hadn't noticed he was there, but after returning
10:05home that night, she noticed a bowl of freshly cut fruit sitting on the table in the middle of
10:10her apartment. Richard must have stopped by, she thought. Why didn't he say hello to me?
10:18She picked up her phone and called him. Why didn't you tell me that you stopped by?
10:23She asked because I didn't want to. He replied as he lay in bed. Why are you acting so weird lately?
10:31She asked. If you can't be honest with me, then just leave me alone. She hung up the phone and
10:37slammed it down on the nightstand. Even I don't know why I'm acting so moody around her, he
10:42thought. I guess it's probably for the best. A few days later, Emma was keeping Eric company at
10:50Kaleidoscope as he finished up his work. He had to catch a flight at five in the morning, and he
10:56would be away overnight, so she wanted to spend every last moment with him. She had already
11:02forgotten the last time they'd been apart, ever since she had gotten pregnant. Eric had spent
11:08every moment he wasn't working with her. They had barely left each other's sides for months.
11:14She began to feel sad as she thought about spending the night without him.
11:18A moment later, Luce entered the office with some documents and an invitation for Eric.
11:24You were invited to the awards ceremony for an international screenwriting competition,
11:30he said. Layla Green will be getting a big award. I know she just signed on with Kaleidoscope,
11:36but the organizers sent the invite directly to you. Eric gestured for Luce to divert the
11:42invite to the lease without lifting his head. Just give it to Luce, he said. I'm busy enough
11:48being Emma's manager, and I don't need other artists clamoring for my attention, Eric said.
11:55Luce seems to be trying to avoid taking on more commitments than he has to.
12:00So he told me to speak to you, Luce said. He's already in the doghouse for not spending enough
12:06time with Caitlin. Emma smiled as she watched them fumble over what to do with the invitation.

12:50another woman. She looked into his eyes. They had been married for a while now, but he had never done
12:56anything that made her feel uncomfortable. They sat quietly, enjoying every last minute together

13:11signed artist, he replied as they left the office and walked to the underground parking lot.

13:31international screenwriting award. They reached Emma's car, and just as she opened the passenger
