00:00Albion off to Stoke tomorrow where they will not be joined by new recruit Uros Racic.
00:07The Serbian international midfielder obviously checked in yesterday on a season-long loan
00:10from Sassuolo in Italy. We've been chatting with Carlos Corberan at this morning's pre-match
00:15press conference and the main sort of newsy line on that is that the midfielder, 25-year-old,
00:20is finalising his work permit details today. So that will kind of take this afternoon up.
00:26He hasn't yet fully trained with Albion. That will go ahead over the weekend. So while
00:30Albion are playing tomorrow, he'll be doing some training work tomorrow and Sunday with
00:34a view of obviously being involved through training next week to feature at home to Swansea
00:40a week tomorrow, the final game before the international break. So we won't see the newest
00:45recruits of the eight in the Dorf so far this summer tomorrow at Stoke, which is a little
00:51bit of a shame. But the good news I think that Carlos Corberan has spelled out is that
00:56Racic at least has had a pre-season with Sassuolo. He's trained, he's played in a lot of their
01:01friendlies. So he's not been out in the cold or anything like that. He's not going to take
01:05a few weeks to get up to speed. He should be free to available to face Swansea and then
01:09obviously there's a two-week international break to really help him and other new recruits
01:14bed in. I mean, speaking of that, obviously a week and a bit now, next Friday night obviously
01:19is the transfer deadline, isn't it? So what's that, a week and 12 hours or so left for Carlos,
01:25Ian Pearce, all of those involved in that recruitment side of it at Albion to finalise
01:30their business. There are two more players that Carlos Corberan wants through the door.
01:33He wants a striker to replace Thomas Assante, obviously, and he wants sort of defensive cover
01:38at left-back to help with Fra Botta. So yeah, plenty to chat about today. A lot of Racic talk
01:43and a real big sign in this one feels to me. And I think there's a feeling around the place
01:48that Albion have got a very interesting player, 6'4", central midfielder, natural number six,
01:53Carlos Corberan described him as to me, but also someone who's capable, comfortable of playing
01:57further up the pitch as well, which is interesting. Played for some big clubs, Red Star, Valencia,
02:03Braga recently as well. Big expectation, big pressure. Obviously, he's international side
02:08as well. So looking forward to seeing what he's about and we shall do in a week or so.
