00:00Hello and welcome to another round of wrestling predictions on the internet.
00:10Well, my name is Benjamin Jackson and I'm joined by Alex Nelson to talk through our
00:14predictions for AEW All in London taking place this Sunday at Wembley Stadium in, well, London.
00:23It's plenty of title matches that we're talking about regarding our predictions for AEW All
00:28in London, which is taking place this Sunday at, where else, but Wembley Stadium.
00:34We've already spoken about the AEW Championship, the World Championship versus Bryan Danielson's
00:41career.
00:42Got it right that time, Alex.
00:44We also have spoken about Will Ospreay, local Essex boy, against Mr. All-American himself.
00:51It feels at the time, MJF, but I mean, we've got to talk about both the women's title matches,
00:59don't we?
01:00And for casual fans, you might be familiar with this next name that I'm going to bring
01:03up, Sasha Banks, Mercedes Venado, or as she's now known as an AEW, the CEO, Mercedes Monet.
01:13She is defending the TBS title against Britt Baker.
01:18Do it with me, everybody, DMD.
01:23I don't know about this one.
01:26It's a weird one because I want to be engaged in the storyline itself, but it's kind of
01:31hard with wrestling fans probably watching this, not to talk about the whole Britt Baker
01:37suspension and how that's played into the storytelling about it.
01:42Do you think that brief time that Britt Baker was taken off TV because of a suspension has
01:48kind of hindered the storytelling of this feud a little bit?
01:54I'm not sure.
01:55I think they're both two prominent characters within AEW's women's division.
02:00I mean, Britt Baker is almost a sort of homegrown talent.
02:04She's been there essentially from the start.
02:07Yeah.
02:08You know, successful runs with various titles in the past, a big name in the division.
02:13Mercedes Monet obviously carrying the same sort of weight, you know, post WWE and things
02:20like that.
02:21So both top stars.
02:24I think the booking, you know, in a lot of these matches, but specifically this one could
02:29have been handled a lot better.
02:30But again, yeah, that was sort of hindered slightly by the suspension.
02:36But yeah, it's another one where it's difficult to call who's going to win.
02:41Yeah.
02:42I mean, I'm probably going to draw the ire of the internet wrestling community when I
02:46say this, but the other women's title match we'll be talking about on our next video has
02:51a lot more appeal for me.
02:53And it goes into that whole comedic kind of cartoonish storytelling when it comes to timeless
02:59Toni Storm.
03:01I just can't get engaged in the storyline.
03:03I do feel for Mercedes Monet.
03:07I think she gets quite a bum rap on message boards and on subreddits.
03:13You know, one only has to take a cursory look at r slash scjerk to see what people's opinions
03:19are of what they call it now, kind of like Fiat Pesos or any name under the sun that
03:26they want to give Mercedes Monet.
03:29But I do think that it does feel a bit stop start this feud that it's just taken me out
03:36of it a little bit.
03:37I enjoyed the idea of Mercedes Monet, this outsider coming in from the WWE, she used
03:43to be one of the four horsemen along with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Old Bailey
03:50when she was a hugger.
03:52And I like that aspect of this grandeur.
03:57I'm better than you because I came from a bigger place and made a lot more money.
04:02But I don't think that's kind of translated as well.
04:05And I think it's unfair that people are saying that her promo skills, her interviewing skills
04:11are awful because, I mean, I know it's an open secret that there's no scripting involved
04:18compared to how heavily the WWE can be at times.
04:21But I just can't really get into this feud, to be honest with you.
04:26And I think part of that is because Britt Baker's suspension just, oh, where's she gone?
04:32OK.
04:33And with AEW's booking at times, it kind of feels like, oh, OK, we'll come back to that
04:38nudge, nudge, wink, wink, long term storytelling when it's like people might have forgotten
04:43it by now.
04:44So, yeah, I mean, it'll be a good match because let's be honest with each other, Mercedes
04:49Monet, when she goes, she can definitely go.
04:52She is an incredible wrestler, not an incredible female wrestler, just an incredible wrestler
04:57full stop.
04:58But you kind of need that momentum that a feud brings sometimes to kind of elevate it
05:04up just a little bit more.
05:06So, I mean, I'll give a prediction.
05:09Definitely.
05:10I think Mercedes Monet, because they've invested so much time and effort in building her character
05:16and bringing her over and making a big song and dance with her debut at a big business
05:21in Boston a year ago now, perhaps, but do kind of feel like booking wise in terms of
05:29how they used it, it's been a little bit of a fumble.
05:32And I worry that if they give Britt Baker the win, are they just going to, well, we
05:37tried with Mercedes Monet and it's not worked, so let's just put her down the card a little
05:43bit more and try and rebuild her.
05:47But I hope Mercedes Monet wins it.
05:50I think she will win it.
05:52Otherwise, you lose all that momentum, don't you?
05:56Yeah.
05:57And I think similar to the MJF match, the Ospreay match that we talked about earlier,
06:03I want to see Mercedes Monet win it because I think she'll get booed out of the building.
06:11But then again, similar to that last match, I think the TBS, I think Mercedes is beyond
06:17the TBS title, which is not the main women's title by any stretch.
06:22And again, should be sort of circling the world title.
06:25So does a loss here get that belt off her?
06:29Does a win add to her heat?
06:32Again, it's just, I think AEW perhaps bring it on themselves a little bit when there's
06:38all these moving parts and they don't exactly make it easy for themselves.
06:42I mean, perhaps trying to tell too complex storylines sometimes, perhaps.
06:47But yeah, my prediction is Mercedes takes this one, I think.
06:53Just a bonus kind of prediction.
06:55Should Mercedes win it, where does that leave Britt Baker in the kind of world, the ecosystem
07:00of AEW?
07:03Britt Baker will be all right.
07:07I'm sure they'll go out there and they'll just do their best to make each other look
07:10a million bucks, whatever the result.
07:14It's a big Wembley moment for her.
07:17Again, she could arguably not be around the TBS championship and be okay for it.
07:23So move her on to something else.
07:26It's just about who might be the next challenger for Mercedes.
07:29I don't really know who you'd put in there.
07:33No, because she's already gone over Willow Nightingale, I was going to mention.
07:38It seems that that was her first feud coming into AEW, pretty much.
07:42Yeah, and Willow Nightingale, I think, is due a rematch, I would say.
07:48I would hope so anyway.
07:49Unfortunately, she's only on the pre-show for Wembley in a sort of bizarre mixed tag
07:54random match.
07:56But yeah, to have her back in the mix would be good.
07:58She's a bit of a fan favourite.
07:59So we'll see.
08:01I'm going to make one more bonus prediction, that Mercedes-Monae has one of the biggest
08:06entrances. You could bring her out in a Bugatti or in England, bring her out in an Aston
08:11Martin for her entrance.
08:12That's what I'd like to see.
08:14A big red double-decker London bus.
08:16Oh, yeah, no, that'll do.
08:17Do you reckon Tony could afford that?
08:20Tony's got money for days.
08:22Tony didn't give me tickets to the show, though, did he?
08:26There's still a few days left.
08:27Oh, yeah, I'm watching you, Tony.
