00:00The word Salaam comes from these three root letters Seen, Laam, Meem.
00:08The word Muslim and the word Islam comes from these same letters.
00:13The word Salaam has many meanings.
00:16One meaning is to be free from any faults.
00:20Another meaning is to be safe.
00:22And another meaning is to have peace.
00:25Allah is Al-Salaam who is free from any fault.
00:29He doesn't die, he doesn't sleep, he doesn't forget.
00:34He is perfect.
00:36He is the source of peace and safety.
00:39When we say As-Salaamu Alaikum to another Muslim we are actually saying that.
00:46May the trait of Allah As-Salaam be with you and may he protect you and give you peace
00:52and safety.
00:53Those that believe in Al-Salaam know that he does not have any imperfections.
01:00He can protect you and offer you inner peace.
01:04The Holy Quran tells us,
01:06لَهُمْ دَارُ السَّلَامِ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ
01:11They will have a home of peace with their Nurturer.
01:16This home of peace is called Heaven and those that go to Heaven will have protection, safety
01:22and peace from Allah Al-Salaam.
01:26Can anyone else offer you this peace and safety?
01:30No, of course not.
01:32In order for us to be with Allah who is Al-Salaam, we should not disobey Allah and do bad things.
01:40In that way we will have peace and security from Allah.
01:44We should also spread peace and security by feeding the poor and be in touch with our
01:50family.
01:51Allah is Al-Salaam, the one who has no faults and a source of peace and safety.
