00:00Fattah comes from the root letters Faa-Taa-Haa and its main meaning is to open and unlock.
00:08From the same root letters we have the word Miftah which means a key.
00:13A key is used to open something that was locked.
00:17We have Surah Al-Fatiha which comes from the same root letters.
00:21It is called Fatiha because it is the opening of the book and the key to open your heart
00:26to Allah.
00:28So based on this, Fattah, opening, can be something material like a door being opened
00:34and unlocked or something not material like opening one's understanding.
00:39The word Fattah has also been used with the meaning of victory.
00:44For example the Holy Qur'an says
00:46إِذَا جَاءَ النَّصُرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحِ
00:51When the help and victory comes from Allah, Fathih indicates victory.
00:57Some have also used the word Fath to mean judge.
