00:00Once upon a time, there were two very different men.
00:03The first man was very rich and lived in a big, beautiful house.
00:07He wore the fanciest clothes and ate the most delicious food every day.
00:12Not far from his house, right by the gate, there was another man named Lazarus.
00:17Lazarus was very poor and he was sick.
00:20He didn't have a home or nice clothes and he was very hungry.
00:23All he wanted was to eat the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table.
00:28Even the dogs came and licked his sores, keeping him company.
00:32The rich man saw Lazarus but never helped him.
00:36He kept living his life filled with fun and plenty,
00:39not caring for those in need around him.
00:42Then one day, Lazarus passed away and the angels took him to a special place called Heaven,
00:47where he was no longer hungry or in pain.
00:50He was comforted and happy there.
00:53The rich man also passed away, but he found himself in a place of suffering called Hell.
00:59He was in great pain and very thirsty, but there was a huge gap between him and Lazarus
01:04and he couldn't reach the place where Lazarus was.
01:08The rich man called out,
01:09Father Abraham, have mercy on me!
01:12Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue,
01:16because I am in agony in this fire.
01:19But Abraham said,
01:21Child, remember that during your life you received good things,
01:25while Lazarus received bad things.
01:28But now he is comforted here, and you are in agony.
01:33And besides all this, there is a big gap between us and you
01:37so that those who want to go from here to you cannot,
01:40nor can anyone cross over from there to us.
01:44The rich man then asked if Lazarus could be sent to warn his brothers,
01:48so they wouldn't end up in the place of suffering too.
01:52Abraham told him that his brothers could listen to the words of Moses
01:55and the prophets who teach us how to live well.
01:59As the story concludes, the message becomes clear.
02:02Life is not just about the wealth we accumulate or the pleasures we enjoy.
02:06It's about the love we share, the help we give, and the legacy we leave behind.
