MIH Megatrends 2024 set to gather leading health experts, says Health Minister
The Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2024 will bring together leading global healthcare experts, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He spoke after witnessing the MOU signing between KPJ Healthcare and MCMC on Monday (Aug 26), alongside Communications Minister Fahmi Fazdil.
Fahmi noted that the event builds on MCMC's previous MOU to promote digitisation and the virtual economy.

00:42But what is important is for us to seize the opportunity
00:50for us to be enhancing and sharing of innovation, best practices
00:58and this meeting of minds which I would want to believe
01:02that is going to be our signature kind of event on healthcare.
01:06Like what I have said earlier about Dubai Health Forum and the sort.
01:11So we would want to see that by way of the involvement
01:16of not just researchers but clinicians, those as I said they experience
01:22in various discipline of medicine would be around to have
01:29plenaries, discourses, discussion and seminars of which I truly hope
01:36that within this that we would be exchanging innovative technologies,
01:43latest ideas particularly on AI driven technologies.
01:47And I said not just precision patient care but as well now precision public health.
01:53We want to be not just learning but as well sharing our experiences.
01:57We do have, you know, this is a meeting of what I hope would be truly
02:03the meetings of great minds in healthcare and in medicine
02:06and hitting the frontiers and the cutting edge of medical
02:10and health technologies and research.
02:13So with that the emphasis, you know, as I said the emphasis would of course be
02:18among other things focus on the pandemic of chronic diseases
02:24or the non-communicable diseases.
02:26That would be a big, as I have seen the program, that would be a big
02:29major emphasis on pandemic of NCDs.
02:34So yeah, we would really hope that we would get to share best practices
02:38of all other countries on all other jurisdictions.
02:41And this is the moment that we want to seize.
03:08We are also looking at the aspect of inter-connectivity in healthcare.
03:15We are now researching a lot of emerging technologies,
03:23emerging technologies that might be suitable for healthcare sector.
03:30And of course what has been researched by BIMCMC can be delivered
03:37and it will not only create healthy discussions but also
03:43be able to provide space for healthcare providers to think about future needs
03:52including issues of inter-connectivity, connectivity.
