00:07highlighted the deep personal rapport between himself and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, which
00:11he believes will be key in strengthening Malaysia-Brunei relations.
00:15At a press conference at Brunei International Airport on Monday, Anwar expressed heartfelt
00:19gratitude to the Sultan for the warm relationship, recalling how moved he was by the Sultan's
00:24uninvited visit to Kuala Lumpur shortly after Anwar's appointment as Prime Minister in
00:29November 2022, solely to offer support.
00:32Anwar highlighted that the close bond between the leaders of Malaysia and Brunei should
00:36be nurtured to further enhance bilateral ties.
00:40Earlier, the Prime Minister attended the 25th Annual Leaders' Consultation between the
00:43two countries, where he had a four-eyed meeting with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at the Nurul
00:48Iman Palace.
00:50He also noted that Malaysia-Brunei cooperation will benefit the states of Sabah and Sarawak,
00:56which share borders with Brunei.
00:58Brunei, he said, has shown strong interest in collaborating on new agricultural projects
01:03in these states, with full support from the federal government.
01:07Additionally, the two countries have agreed to cooperate in the tourism sector, particularly
01:12involving Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak, as well as in transportation, which could serve as
01:18a catalyst for tourism growth.
