00:00Well, he took the broadcasting jacket off came down from the booth to celebrate with his son Jeff Burton
00:05Harrison Burton just got his first win in the NASCAR Cup Series. How you feeling dad? It's pretty amazing. You know, I
00:13It's been a really hard year obviously and hard three years really and
00:18I'm really proud of Harrison for his
00:21You know his dedication. He's not complained. He's not whined. He's not cried
00:25He's not you know, this team is this he's just said hey, it's all you know
00:29I got to be better and he's just gone to work and and
00:33This is hard. It's it's really really hard. Just women with sharks in this deal and he was 23 years old and
00:39You know was a little bit a little bit surprising to him how hard it was, right?
00:43And so then you get your car then they beat you up and they take your confidence from you when they got you down
00:47They're not gonna let you up. That's what that's what this garage is about. And so days like this are just
00:54It's like it's hard to explain it I'd had it in my Xfinity career my first Xfinity race I
01:01Woke up the next morning and I felt like I was a hundred pounds lighter
01:04I mean, it's just it's a weight off your shoulders when you want something so badly and you can't find a way to get it
01:11It's it just wears on you and you see it in the garage every day
01:15You talk that you talk to crew members you talk to drivers you see it. It's a very difficult way to make a living
01:21Those final laps, you're a true professional
01:24So I know you held it together in the booth the best you could but what were the emotions up there?
01:28Well, so I didn't you know, it was you knew, you know, Kyle Busch is there Christopher Bell is pushing him
01:33those two are you know, two of the best we've got and you got Harrison and Parker Retzlaff and I'm like
01:40That's not gonna work out right and so and so but Parker did a great job
01:44and then they got separated a little bit and and
01:48They got a massive run down the back straightaway when they got that run down the back straightaway
01:51I said if they don't wreck the 21s of winter, I didn't say that on it, but I said I saw that and
01:57And they almost wrecked off before and you know until he got to the start finish line
02:01I don't know. They weren't gonna wreck because it's Daytona, but
02:05It was a little bit in slow motion, but it was a great thing is it on that last lap?
02:10I don't say anything. Anyway, you know, I let that go
02:13Finally this is hallowed grounds for sports fans, but especially race fans, but you as a driver, you know
02:18What this place Daytona is there is nothing bigger in our sport. What's it like for Harrison to get his first win here?
02:23you know, he
02:25Ward won the 500 I won the 400
02:29and
02:30To be to be in this victory lane. Here's someone arc a race. He won a
02:35Road course race here, but this is next level
02:38I mean when you win when you win a cup race and you win at this facility
02:42Knowing all that it took to be here from you know generations before us
02:48You know the France family. It's this is this is our place
02:52I mean India's IndyCar drivers place and this is our place and there's nowhere else you want to win
02:57Congratulations, the mayor gets to be the party here tonight. I'm gonna party hard
