00:00Well, the 30th anniversary of the inaugural event here at the Brickyard 400, and Jeff
00:04Gordon is back kissing the bricks, this time with your driver, Kyle Larson.
00:08What does it mean to win at this place on the 30th anniversary of that 94 win for you?
00:12Yeah, this place is so special.
00:13I was talking to the guys in the 24 car earlier, I'm like, no, you know, we won 94, 04, 14.
00:21But this is such a special place for Kyle, what he went through in May, and I think he
00:27knows how special this place is, the history of it, through the Indy 500 experience, but
00:31also the times he's been here.
00:32But he just did a phenomenal job, the whole five team, it just takes a total team to win
00:36this race.
00:37And with all the strategy and everything playing out, those guys just did it best today.
00:42The numbers wrote it for you guys.
00:44It was bound and determined to be a Hendrick Motorsports win, but coming from somebody
00:48who knows how special this place is, describe it to the race fans.
00:51How special is this place for a driver?
00:52Yeah, especially when you see the crowd and the energy that was here today.
00:57I mean, everybody knows you make laps of this track, it's special, tons of history.
01:02But until you come here and you see, you know, the fans really ready to see a great race
01:07and see the best stock car drivers and some of the best drivers in the world, you know,
01:12get it done today.
01:13And I thought they put on a great race.
01:15And I think the fans certainly got, you know, a great show all the way to the finish.
01:20But I think even the fans know the history of Indianapolis and why it's so special to
01:25come and be a part of a big event like this.
01:27And so it just builds up the energy for everybody.
01:29Finally, 1994, do the bricks still taste the same?
01:33The kiss still the same?
01:34Well, 1994, we didn't kiss the bricks.
01:36That didn't get started for a few years after that.
01:39But I'm happy to come here and kiss those bricks, any gritty bricks, any day of the
01:44year, and hopefully at the Brickyard 400 every year, maybe one day at the Indy 500.
01:49Congratulations.
01:50All right.
