00:37The National Bureau of Investigation turns over Cassandra Leong to the House of Representatives
00:41on Monday, August 26.
00:44Leong is tied to the raided Philippine offshore gaming operator Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.
00:49She is the woman who allegedly hired former Duterte spokesperson Harry Roque to lawyer
00:54for Whirlwind, the real estate firm that leased its land to Lucky South.
00:58Leong was cited in contempt by the House Committee Investigating Illegal Pogos for
01:02stubbing the congressional inquiry she had been invited to.
01:05The House then issued an arrest order against her on August 21.
01:09She and Sheila Guo, sister of dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo, were arrested by Indonesian
01:14immigration authorities on August 22 and were deported back to the Philippines the same
01:19day.
01:20Leong is expected to face the House Quad Committee investigating the links between pogos, extrajudicial
01:25killings, illegal drugs, and Chinese syndicates.
01:29Sheila Guo, the sister of dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo, and pogo liaison Cassandra
01:34Leong are set to appear before a Senate inquiry on Tuesday, August 27.
01:38Guo is already in the custody of the Senate where a round-the-clock security team is posted
01:43near her.
01:44While Sheila Guo and Leong are expected to be interrogated on Tuesday, government agencies
01:48will also be under scrutiny for Alice Guo's departure despite an immigration lookout and
01:53a Senate warrant.
01:54Meantime, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission says Alice Guo is trying
01:59to sneak into the Golden Triangle, a cross-border zone covering Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and
02:04a portion of China's Yunnan province.
02:07It is where most of the world's narcotics come from.
02:09Paok says it will have a hard time catching Guo once she arrives in the Golden Triangle
02:14due to the ongoing civil war in Myanmar.
02:19Police breach a barricade set up by fugitive preacher Apollo K. Bouloi's followers and
02:23supporters and arrest protesters Monday afternoon, August 26.
02:27Authorities moved in minutes after protesters ignored warnings to clear a section of the
02:32Carlos P. Garcia Highway.
02:34The Philippine National Police Davao Region says protest organizers secured a permit to
02:38hold a prayer vigil at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound but not on a section of the
02:43highway.
02:44K. Bouloi's supporters earlier said they would not leave the area until police ceased what
02:48they call the occupation of the 30-hectare KOJC compound.
02:52Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday, August 25, condemned the police presence at the KOJC
02:57compound as a gross abuse of power.
03:00Meantime, Senator Isaon Tiveros blames K. Bouloi for tensions between KOJC members and
03:05the police force, saying it wouldn't have come to this if only he showed up before the
03:09Senate or the court.
03:12The Department of Health reports two new cases of mpox in Metro Manila on Monday, August
03:1626.

03:24All cases are of the milder clade 2 form of the mpox virus.
03:27The DOH did not disclose exactly where in the capital region the two new patients reside,
03:32but says it has notified the concerned local governments.
03:35Case 11 is a 37-year-old male who first noticed his symptoms on August 20.
03:39He is confined at a government hospital.
03:42Case 12 is a 32-year-old male whose symptoms were noticed on August 14.
03:46He is in home isolation.
03:48Both patients reported having skin-to-skin contact prior to diagnosis.

03:57OPM legend The Eraserheads are reuniting for a performance at the Araneta Coliseum on September
04:037 to kick off UAAP Season 87.
04:06It's a special moment for season host UP as band members Eli Buendia, Raymond Maracigan,
04:12Badi Zabala, and Marcos Adoro are alumni of the university.
04:16The band comes fresh off receiving the Gawad Oblation Award on August 20, the highest distinction
04:21UP gives its alumni.
04:22UP Office for Athletics and Sports Development chief Bo Perasol says the band embodies the
04:27UAAP season's theme, stronger, better, together.
04:31They reached the top, disbanded, reunited, and now they will have a, quote, full-circle
04:36moment in their homecoming in UP and the UAAP.
