00:00Welcome back to TMZ Sports. Mike and Mojo. Mojo, perhaps the coolest, the most legendary piece of memorabilia just sold. It was certainly the most expensive, and it's not even close. Everybody out there has heard the story of Babe Ruth calling his shot, Mojo, you know, pointing his bat right to the outfield fence, and boom, home run.
00:30Gone during the 1932 World Series, Game 3 to be exact. Well, the jersey that Babe Ruth wore, New York Yankees jersey that he wore, just sold on the auction block at Heritage Auctions for, get this, $24.12 million, Mojo, $24 million.
00:53Previously, and this was a couple years ago, there was a Mickey Mantle card that sold for just over $12.5 million. Obviously nothing to scoff at, but the Babe Ruth jersey ultimately goes for nearly double what that Mantle card sold for. I mean, incredible, $24 million. This is the Holy Grail of all Holy Grails, Mojo. You want to talk about sports memorabilia, it does not get any better than this, period.
01:22Hey Babcock, I say it all the time. I usually don't understand these things. Some of these, these trading cards, little pieces of plastic or paper that go for these millions and millions of dollars. This, I absolutely understand. There might be a time in the future where this thing sells for a hundred million dollars. I mean, can you think of a more iconic moment in sports history than Babe Ruth calling his shot?
01:50I really can't think of one that even comes close to this. People do this in other sports. Pro athletes do this in other sports. Babe Ruth, if you point it out, it's almost become a message or a movement even past what it actually was. There's so much symbolism behind that reference now.
02:12So, I mean, this makes all the sense in the world. 1932. I mean, this was, this is almost a hundred years ago, so it dates you big time. But again, this, this one is awesome. This is absolutely the coolest one we've ever talked about for all of the reasons. Well-deserved for $24.12 million. You and I, we'll go halves on it the next time and buy it.
02:36Absolutely. Done deal, Mojo. True, I agree with you. Sometimes you say it doesn't make sense. This one, I get it. Probably should have even went for more money.
