00:00The following contest is a singles pre-match and is set for one fall.
00:10Introducing first...
00:15From the Reign of Unixix, he is your new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, this is the
00:41Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay!
00:50Ladies and gentlemen, it is no over-exaggeration to say that the world has been waiting for
00:56this clash between two of the very finest wrestlers of their generation.
01:01Yes they have met before, but not when both men carry such prestigious international gold.
01:08This is going to be nothing less than historic, a match that is truly 25 years in the making.
01:16And one half of the puzzle is in the ring right now, the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay.
01:38And his opponent, from Birmingham, he is the current WWE United Kingdom Champion, this
02:04is the Bruiserweight Pete Dunne!
02:13The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is the newly crowned IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion
02:19as of quite literally two weeks ago, but the Bruiserweight Pete Dunne has been the WWE
02:26UK Champion since May of last year.
02:35Can you believe those two belts are so close to touching, it is truly an incredible sight
02:43and if you don't know why, we will tell you momentarily.
02:49But this is a stare down that has been eagerly awaited by the four corners of the world.
02:59And it is exclusively happening at Unit 9 in Milton Keynes, this is IPW.
03:08And ladies and gentlemen, watching around the world, you are about to see a showcase
03:16from two of the very finest wrestlers, not just in the world today, but of their generation.
03:46Tom Scarborough handing the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship and the WWE UK Championship over
03:59to Chris Hatch, don't drop them Chris, I bet they are worth a lot of money.
04:14Tom Scarborough is making sure both men are ready to begin this historic encounter.
04:20And the bell has gone, and an international match for the ages, in the sense that they
04:31are international titles is taking place, and is taking place right here, right now
04:36in the heart of England, and two of the proud warriors of this generation.
04:43Are going to go toe to toe, the reason this contest is so historic, I'll quickly go through
04:51the details of that now, this is the first time for 25 years, that a champion of New
04:59Japan, and a champion of the WWE, are facing off at the same time, reigning and defending
05:14champions of New Japan and WWE, the last time a match of this magnitude happened, Hulk Hogan
05:25was the WWF champion, ladies and gentlemen, that's how long ago it truly, truly was.
05:36We are talking history books, we are talking when Hulk Hogan took on the great Muta, back
05:42on May 3rd 1993 in Fukuoka, Japan.
05:49The combination of these championships has not been seen in the same match this century,
05:54and it has never ever taken place in Europe or indeed America, it could not be more exclusive.
06:16We are talking about champions, nice move there from Ospreay, we are talking about champions,
06:21our next show is our return to Milton Keynes for IPW Parade of Champions on February 21st,
06:27follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with the matches as they are announced,
06:31but we can confirm that IPW World Champion Austin Aries, and the NWA World Champion Nick
06:38Aldis will be here, we are sold out right now at Magnificent 7, and you can expect the
06:43same for greater champions, fly to www.ipwk.bigcartel.com to get your ticket before it's too late.
06:57Look at the bruiserweight.
07:01Oh, what does that feel like inside the ribcage of the aerial assassin?
07:09Making sure his fingers aren't broken, it's probably a good idea when you're in there with a bruiserweight,
07:14he'll break your fingers, no problem.
07:23The last time we saw the aerial assassin Will Ospreay in IPW, it was back at Super Show 5,
07:31Super Show 5, it seems so long ago now, when he was defeated by the American Nightmare Cody.
07:39He's done of course far, far more recently, lost to Jimmy Havoc by DQ back at IPW1,
07:49which was in Milden Kings right in this very building back in October.
07:53And that was only because a homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, death defying man, Sabu got involved,
07:59and cracked Jimmy Havoc on the head with a chair.
08:02Bruiserweight, bruiserweight, bruiserweight, bruiserweight.
08:06Oh, are you kidding me? Pete Dunne taking a page straight out of the classic playbook of Will Ospreay.
08:14Bruiserweight, bruiserweight, bruiserweight.
08:17He can do a handspring and he can do a pose.
08:19Bruiserweight, bruiserweight.
08:23I'm not sure if that's going to serve the interest of Pete Dunne to fire up the aerial assassin.
08:29We have seen what he can do around the world.
08:31We saw what he did very recently in New Japan.
08:34We saw the way he vaulted from way up above en route to becoming IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
08:45But we've also seen what Pete Dunne can do at the very top of this business.
08:52We have seen what he has made of it.
08:54We have seen the resiliency and the brutality that follows in the wake and the very shadow of the bruiserweight.
09:01Oh, he's trying to break the fingers once more.
09:06No!
09:09Ladies and gentlemen, that is an audible clap.
09:13An audible clap between the fingers and a click.
09:23Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
09:31No!
09:34Well, we'll chick him into a forearm smash.
09:38Pete Dunne, he doesn't do fun and games very often.
09:41Will Ospreay should be mindful of that.
09:43Do not take him lightly because he will forearm you into next month.
09:48Rake in the back, and now he's trying to rip off the nose, rip off the nose, break the
10:02knees, snap a few fingers, Will Ospreay may be trying to fly about the ring, because that
10:07is what he does best of course, oh, wow, don't antagonize Pete Dunne, he'll take out anyone
10:17in this crowd, I love them for seconds after he tries to polish off Will Ospreay, Dunne's
10:31got Ospreay wrapped up almost, I say almost in a chicken wing, not quite though, and there's
10:43a handspring kick, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but nothing is quite as
10:50good as the original, I think Pete Dunne found that out the hard way, and Will Ospreay roundhouse
10:55kicked him right in the side of his head, now Assassin trying to fire himself up here
11:12to take on the flair of Pete Dunne, two feet right into the mush of the WWE UK champion,
11:31absolute precision from the aerial assassin, only a two count on that exchange, it's interesting
11:39Will Ospreay actually debuted on April Fool's Day in 2012, just child six years ago, but anyone
11:46who thought that he would just be a joke, had the idea quickly quashed, as the aerial assassin,
11:51and that's what he's about, that's why we call him aerial, he has quickly blazed a trail to be
11:56regarded as the greatest high flyer of his generation, not like he was gonna try and go
12:04for the reign of maker, didn't get chance, Bruce Wayne going for the cross, landing, Will Ospreay
12:10lands on his feet, and returns the favor with a splash, corkscrew sent on, are you kidding me,
12:18middle of the ring but couldn't quite get the job done on that exchange, Will Ospreay has risen to
12:29be one of the greatest of his generation, Pete Dunne started training at the age of 12, he used
12:34to travel over an hour, every single time he wanted to train, he knows what the struggle is
12:39like, he knows what it's like growing up in England, having to fight for the training, having to fight
12:44for the petition, both of these men became the very best, because they were trained right here in
12:49England, gonna go for the crush, landing, and he got it, and he's transferred, trying to transfer to an
12:56arm bar but instead, instead, instead Will Ospreay fights himself, into that lock to make sure Pete
13:04Dunne can't quite extend the arm, oh snapping, snapping the arm back is gonna affect a lot of
13:14all the movement, like a bomb, like a bomb by Dunne, no he didn't get him on that exchange over, he did
13:21have a very firm grip, a very firm grip indeed around Will Ospreay, Will Ospreay still able to kick
13:27his legs just enough, just enough to get out of that situation.
13:45Ladies and gentlemen we are live here in Milton Keynes, this is Unit 9.
13:52This is IPW, this is a contest 25 years in the making, between two of the finest of our time,
14:03two champions internationally, WWE, New Japan, here on IPW.
14:13Thank you so much for joining us wherever you are in the world, wherever it is in the streets,
14:21of Japan, or whether it's somewhere in New York, LA or in London,
14:26thank you so much for joining us around the world.
14:37A reversal of the century goes for the Oscar, but it's made by the forearm of Dunne.
14:42He got him, he got it with the Reina Maker that time and Pete Dunne has been wiped out.
14:52Couldn't connect with the Oscar, but he did connect with the Reina Maker at the second
14:57time of trying, and the crowd are witnessing what can only be realistically described as
15:03a dream contest for any fan of wrestling.
15:09If you like high flyers, if you like strikers, if you like grapplers, if you like submission
15:15experts, if you like almost any variation of wrestling,
15:19you are seeing it on display in these two quite, quite remarkable athletes.
15:26And right now, right now it is the strikes of Will Ospreay that you're seeing on display,
15:31he can strike, maybe not as well as Pete Dunne arguably, but believe you me,
15:35a forearm from Will Ospreay still feels like you've been hit by a frying pan.
15:42The bruiser has got his hands behind his back, he's daring Ospreay to knock him out,
15:46and it takes just one from the bruiserweight to send the IWGP junior heavyweight champion
15:53crashing to the canvas.
15:59What a kick by Ospreay, what a kick!
16:05He's got him set up, Ospreay might be fighting against some Piri Piri,
16:11because it's the cheeky that nose kick to the WWE UK champion.
16:16The crowd have gone from bruiserweight to Ospreay, that is the magnitude of both individuals,
16:27they are not cheering just the man, they are cheering the heart,
16:31the passion and the pure athleticism on display.
16:37El Assassin died, double tucks and flips over twice, are you kidding me?
16:42And what have Pete Dunne, Pete Dunne's got Ospreay, cheeky that nose kick from the bruiserweight,
16:50he's going for the bitter end, go for the bitter end, he got him, he got the bitter end.
16:57Oscar, Oscar, bitter end from Pete Dunne.
17:06Ospreay retaliated with the Oscar, both men have dropped their big bombs,
17:11and I mean their big bombs, Tom Scarborough is taking the count,
17:15there is little movement from either man.
17:19Pete Dunne has even tried imitating Will Ospreay to get a victory in this one,
17:24he then hit him with his own finishing move, he hit him with the bitter end,
17:28but the Oscar sends both men to the canvas,
17:31Scarborough is up to six and there is little movement for either of them.
17:35Both men trying to get up, up to nine, I'm not sure they're going to make it,
17:39no, they didn't make it, I'm not surprised, I'm not surprised, both men hit their biggest shots.
17:48Ladies and gentlemen, with both men unable to beat the ten count,
17:55this contest is declared a draw.
17:59And to be quite honest with you, that I think was the fair result in the end for both competitors,
18:05they both showcased the very best, not just of British wrestling,
18:10but of their respective companies, the very best of New Japan and the very best of WWE,
18:14and of course I hate to be wrong, the very best of IPW.
18:18Thank you so much for watching this, wherever you are in the world,
18:22thank you, thank you from all of us here at IPW.
18:41Ospreay's having a little word with Pete Dunn,
18:44both men can answer the ten count, both men hit each other's finishes.
18:47The crowd are trying to get them to fight, they've just had a war,
18:51they've just had an all-time classic with each other.
19:01Five more minutes.
19:07If you can hear me Pete,
19:10if you can hear me Pete,
19:14this match has been 25 years in the making, and we're only 24, so guess what?
19:22I'm asking you straight up, let's not end it like this, so I say...
19:27Oh, Pete Dunn, and Pete Dunn pedigrees Will Ospreay, and the bruiserweight.
19:36Will Ospreay will say five more minutes of the bruiserweight,
19:40just kicked him where the sun most certainly does not shine.
19:57Wait a minute,
19:59wait a minute,
20:01we're from Rainermaker, he takes another Oscar there, and Pete Dunn is out of here.
20:10What an epic contest, and what a most fiery kick of the conclusion.
20:15Thank you so much for joining us here at IPW, and for the match that was 25 years in the making.
