00:08heavy rain. Padang Matsirat Fire Chief Mohamed Zaidi Matlazim said a distress call was received
00:14at 6.35 am and a male victim was evacuated to safety. He added that the Sungai Melaka
00:21water level had risen to nearly 0.6 metres. Cosmo reported that the affected areas were
00:27Kua, Padang Matsirat, Temonyong and Kampung Bukit Kembojani. A video shared on social
00:33media shows the Padang Matsirat market inundated by flood water. Traders were forced to evacuate
00:40and set up their stalls by the roadside. Last Friday, a car was swept into the river while
00:46several other vehicles parked near the Langkawi cable car attraction were damaged by strong
00:51currents from a flash flood following a heavy downpour.
