00:00Ashab-e-Sufa is the name of Chabutra.
00:05Those who have been there know that
00:10there is a place right next to Rauza-e-Rasul
00:15where the Prophet used to sit and recite.
00:18And the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them,
00:25would write down every word of the Prophet.
00:31One day, a Companion thought of this.
00:35Someone said, O my friend,
00:37do not write down every word of the Prophet.
00:40A person is blind in some things.
00:46There is nothing to write down.
00:49You are sitting in front of him.
00:52Whatever the Prophet used to say,
00:56you just sit there and write it down.
00:58He also thought that it is true.
01:02Because sometimes it is possible that
01:05the Prophet is someone who does not know how to write.
01:09When the Prophet came to know that this is the case,
01:15he called the Companions.
01:18He said, whenever your Prophet speaks,
01:23it is true.
01:31Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him,
01:36is a great Companion.
01:38He came to know in Madinah
01:41that there is a place in Syria.
01:44A Companion went there.
01:48And he had one thing of the Prophet.
01:52Where is Madinah?
01:55Where is Syria?
01:57And Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him,
02:01thought that he should come to that Companion of my Madinah.
02:08How is it possible that he should stay?
02:11You bought a camel.
02:15And he started walking from Madinah.
02:18He traveled for many months.
02:21He went and visited that Companion.
02:24When that Companion saw that Hazrat Jabir is there,
02:28he made him sit.
02:30He said, O Prophet, how can I serve you?
02:33You have traveled so much.
02:36He said, leave the service.
02:38I have come to know that you have
02:43one thing of my Prophet.
02:46He said, it is there.
02:48He said, just tell me that so that I can go back.
02:54He is not drinking water.
02:56He is not eating breakfast.
02:58He is not eating food.
03:00It seems that one thing will keep happening.
03:04Just tell me about the Prophet.
03:07Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah is sitting.
03:09He is telling about the Prophet.
03:11He is narrating a hadith.
03:13When Hazrat Jabir heard it,
03:15he hugged him.
03:17He said, you are very kind.
03:19You have conveyed one thing of the Prophet to me.
03:23Subhanallah.
03:27This is such a great thing.
03:29Today in the libraries,
03:31in the books,
03:33the hadith of the Prophet is still there.
03:36We keep listening to it.
03:38We keep reading it.
03:40But where did he get that passion from?
03:44That passion,
03:46Allama Sahib keeps narrating.
03:48He puts a lot of effort.
03:52He tells you the translations of the Qur'an.
03:55He narrates the hadith of the Prophet in front of you.
04:01But where did he get that passion from?
04:04To listen to one thing,
04:07My beloved Prophet has such a great companion.
04:11He is traveling so much.
04:13Somehow in this life,
04:16one of the hadiths of the Prophet is different from me.
04:23Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal.
04:26May Allah have mercy on him.
04:28Someone asked him,
04:30Is the Prophet Tahajjud better or Ilam better?
04:37Is it better to gain knowledge
04:39or is it better to perform Tahajjud prayer?
04:43Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, may Allah have mercy on him,
04:47says,
04:49My beloved,
04:51it is much better to gain knowledge than Tahajjud.
04:57He said,
04:59How is that possible?
05:01A child gets up without Tahajjud.
05:03He performs ablution,
05:05then prostration is done in front of him.
05:09He weeps.
05:11Allah's mercy covers that person.
05:15He says,
05:17There is no greater rank than knowledge.
05:21Tahajjud is inferior to knowledge.
05:25Why?
05:27Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, may Allah have mercy on him,
05:29says,
05:31My beloved,
05:34Tahajjud has its own benefit.
05:38But the one who gains knowledge
05:40has its own benefit
05:42and benefits others as well.
05:46Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him,
05:52when he became the governor of Basra,
05:56a woman freed him from a prison.
06:01Her name was Hazrat Abu'l-Aliyah.
06:05He was a great Muhafazah.
06:07He was a great Muhafazah.
06:09There was a place
06:11where the Prophet used to sit
06:13when he used to speak.
06:15Abu'l-Aliyah used to sit there.
06:17He used to make it his hobby.
06:19But he was a slave.
06:21The slave is the one
06:23whom the Master has mentioned.
06:25That woman came to know
06:27and she freed him from the prison.
06:29There was a place
06:31where the verses of the Qur'an
06:33used to be recited.
06:35Abu'l-Aliyah used to sit there.
06:37Where the verses of the Prophet
06:39used to be recited,
06:41Abu'l-Aliyah used to sit there.
06:43He used to sit there in the morning,
06:45in the afternoon,
06:47in the evening.
06:49He became such a great Muhafazah
06:51that a time came
06:53when he started reciting Ahadith
06:55while sitting on the pulpit.
06:58And when
07:00Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas
07:02became the king of Basra,
07:04Hazrat Abu'l-Aliyah came to meet him.
07:06When he came to meet him,
07:08Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas
07:10was sitting on the pulpit.
07:12When he saw that
07:14a Hadith narrator of the Prophet
07:16had come to him,
07:18he called him to his pulpit.
07:20He made him sit on his pulpit
07:22and said,
07:24meet my neck.
07:26And a companion
07:28said, meet my neck.
07:30Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas said
07:32Sir, I am a Wala.
07:34He said, Wala,
07:36you were before.
07:38Now you are a Muhaddith.
07:40Now there is knowledge
07:42in your chest.
07:44Now there is knowledge
07:46of the Qur'an in your chest.
07:48Now there is knowledge
07:50of my Prophet's words
07:52in your chest.
07:54Who doesn't know the name of Hazrat Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa?
08:04He didn't learn from one teacher.
08:06Hazrat Imam-e-Abu Hanifa learned from many teachers.
08:11These days, Mashallah, in one Madrasa, there is a period of Muttahq.
08:18In one Madrasa, there is a period of Ilm-ul-Tafsir.
08:23There is a period of Ilm-ul-Hadith.
08:26There is a period of Tafsir.
08:28There is a period of Fiqh.
08:30All periods, all books are in one place.
08:35But it was not like this before.
08:38If someone has to read the translation of the Qur'an, it is different.
08:43If someone has to read the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad, it is also different.
08:48If someone has to read Mantak, it is also different.
08:52That is, someone goes to the East to read one book.
08:56Sometimes he goes to the West.
08:58Sometimes he goes to the North.
08:59Sometimes he goes to the South.
09:01It is a journey after journey.
09:03But today, Allah's grace is this.
09:06In one building, there is a period of Mantak.
09:11There is a period of Tafsir.
09:13There is a period of Fiqh.
09:15There is a period of everything.
09:17But the students are not present.
09:21Today, Madrasas are desolate.
09:24The city is populated.
09:27Today, mosques are desolate.
09:30The market is populated.
09:34Today, Allah's house is desolate.
09:38And the square fair where the fairs are held is populated.
09:44This is the knowledge that we are Muslims.
09:49What should have happened, which is the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad,
09:54He said,
09:56In the mosque,
10:02He said,
10:03The believer is like a fish in water.
10:10If the fish is taken out of the water, it suffers.
10:16He said,
10:17The hypocrite is like a bird in a cage.
10:25The bird says,
10:28Free me from this cage.
10:30I run away from the mosque.
10:32Khawaja Hameeduddin Nagori,
10:37He is a great saint.
10:39He said,
10:41The one who does not acquire knowledge,
10:47Or the one who is ignorant,
10:50He said,
10:51He said,
10:52He is a toy of Satan.
10:56This means that we should take care of the saint.
11:04First of all, the identity of the saint is,
11:08Whether he is able to hear the Qur'an or not.
11:13If he himself does not pray,
11:16What will you do?
11:19If he himself does not follow the Shariah,
11:23How will you cross the river?
11:26He will be caught himself.
11:29That is why,
11:30I am not saying that the saint should be caught.
11:34The work of the saint is,
11:36The teacher.
11:37The work of the teacher is,
11:39The guide.
11:41Because there is a belief in the heart,
11:44Of the saint.
11:45The work of the teacher is,
11:47To call his disciples for prayer.
11:51The work of the teacher is,
11:53To call his disciples for fasting.
11:56The work of the teacher is,
11:58To call his disciples for zakat.
12:01But if by looking at the saint,
12:04He does not know how to read the Qur'an,
12:06He is not a saint,
12:07He is a pain.
12:12I remember there was a gathering,
12:14And in that gathering,
12:16The students called me,
12:18And said,
12:19There is a five-minute speech of the saint.
12:21I said,
12:22So the saint was,
12:24It is a big mistake,
12:25Because he was sitting.
12:27Now the disciples would come,
12:29They would offer a cigarette to the saint.
12:34And the saint would also,
12:36Offer a cigarette to the disciple.
12:40I said,
12:41Whether it is a speech or not,
12:44In my speech,
12:45The saint did not offer me a cigarette.
12:48I did not give a speech.
12:50I got up from there.
12:52This is the state of the saint.
12:54The one who is sitting in the mosque,
12:57Offering a cigarette to the disciples,
13:00And he himself is also drinking.
13:02This cigarette is not a common one.
13:04It is a different cigarette.
13:06He is offering a lot of it.
13:09And the disciples are drinking a lot.
13:11This is the state.
13:14The saint has to go to hell.
13:17Such disciples will also follow him.
13:20Therefore, the saint should be the one,
13:23Who knows the Qur'an,
13:25And also knows the words of the Madinah.
13:29Whose body is immersed in Shariah,
13:32He is the real saint.
13:36Hazrat Nizamuddin Dehravi,
13:39May Allah have mercy on him,
13:40Was a caliph.
13:41His name was Hazrat Sheikh Siraj-ud-Din.
13:45What was his name?
13:46Sheikh Siraj-ud-Din.
13:48It has been so many years,
13:51He has been serving you.
13:53Please,
13:55Grant us the caliphate.
13:57Let us also go to our area,
13:59And make noise.
14:01And we are traveling together.
14:03Imam Fakhr-ud-Din Razi,
14:05Hazrat Nizamuddin Dehravi,
14:07Called his beloved,
14:11Sheikh Siraj-ud-Din,
14:13And said,
14:14Sheikh Siraj-ud-Din,
14:16First get the knowledge,
14:18And then become a caliph.
14:22First get the complete knowledge.
14:25You should know the details of the Qur'an.
14:29You should know the hadith of my Madinah.
14:33You should know the difference
14:35between fasting and Hajj.
14:38You should know the difference.
14:41When you know,
14:42We will give you the caliphate.
14:46And he gave an example.
14:48He said,
14:49You know,
14:50Our elders,
14:51Which Huzoor?
14:53Whose name is,
14:54Baba Farid-ud-Din Ganj-e-Shakar.
14:59Where is Baba Farid-ud-Din Ganj-e-Shakar?
15:02Where is he?
15:03Where is he?
15:04How far is he?
15:05Somewhere he is getting the knowledge of logic.
15:08Somewhere he is getting the knowledge of fiqh.
15:10And he said,
15:11Once,
15:12Hazrat Sheikh Siraj-ud-Din met Baba Farid-ud-Din.
15:16He said,
15:17Farid-ud-Din Ganj-e-Shakar,
15:19How did you get the complete knowledge?
15:23He said,
15:24For seven years,
15:25Farid-ud-Din had only one attire.
15:28For seven years,
15:29Baba Farid-ud-Din had only one attire.
15:36Farid-ud-Din was getting married.
15:39For seven years,
15:41Baba Farid-ud-Din had only one attire.
15:45And Baba Farid-ud-Din was the imam of the mosque.
15:48He was also a khatib.
15:51After the fajr prayer,
15:53He was teaching the children the Qur'an.
15:55He was giving them tafseer.
15:58And after the fajr prayer,
16:00Baba Farid-ud-Din was teaching the Qur'an.
16:08Now,
16:09MashaAllah,
16:10Dharam-e-Sharif is coming.
16:12If you will also teach chanda,
16:14then AC will also work.
16:16Obviously,
16:17when you have to run one AC in the house,
16:20then all the members of the house,
16:23from grandfathers to grandsons,
16:25they sit and think,
16:27if they will run the AC,
16:29then from where will they pay the bill?
16:31They plan,
16:32run it this way,
16:33don't run it that way.
16:35When Dharam-e-Sharif comes,
16:37first of all,
16:38it comes to their mind.
16:40Therefore,
16:41this mosque is not my house.
16:43It is also not yours.
16:44It is Allah's house.
16:46For this also,
16:47we all have to plan.
16:49And we all have to try
16:51that as much as possible,
16:53you all are standing with bills,
16:55you are thinking,
16:56what is happening?
16:57InshaAllah,
16:58this will not happen.
16:59Will it happen?
17:00It will not happen.
17:01As much as possible,
17:02whatever chanda you are paying,
17:05increase it a little,
17:06so that,
17:07because it is summer,
17:08and there is electricity bill also.
17:10Anyway,
17:11I was telling you,
17:13Baba Farid-ud-Din Ghaj-e-Shakar
17:15Rahmatullah Ta'ala,
17:17he teaches five times.
17:19He is teaching the Qur'an,
17:21he is teaching the Tafseer also.
17:23He is doing business also.
17:25He is also making Deen in childhood.
17:27Imam Bukhari,
17:29who does not know the name of Rahmatullah Ta'ala?
17:32Imam Bukhari is that,
17:34he is eleven years old.
17:37Your mother held your hand,
17:40sometimes to someone,
17:41sometimes to someone,
17:42he is taking you.
17:44And what is he doing?
17:46Whoever the mother takes him to,
17:48she says,
17:49she says,
17:50read the hadith of this son of mine.
17:54Imam Bukhari is that,
17:56you will not get one lakh,
18:00not two lakh,
18:02not five lakh,
18:04Imam Bukhari will get six lakh.
18:07How much?
18:08Six lakh.
18:09Six lakh,
18:11you will take the words of my Prophet on that tongue.
18:16Imam Bukhari is that,
18:19before writing any hadith,
18:22you wash your hands.
18:24You washed your hands nine thousand times.
18:28And eighteen thousand times,
18:33you performed Nawafil.
18:36It took Imam Bukhari sixteen years,
18:40to write one book,
18:42whose name is Bukhari Sharif.
18:46Who does not know the name of Imam Shafi?
18:49Imam Shafi is that,
18:51the mother said,
18:53son, what do you want to become?
18:55You are very young.
18:57The son said,
18:58mother,
18:59if you like,
19:01I will become an army dean.
19:03The mother kissed his forehead,
19:06said,
19:07even my heart was saying,
19:09that my Shafi should become an army dean.
19:12Imam Shafi said,
19:13come son,
19:14I will take you to Ustad.
19:16Now the clothes you are wearing,
19:18are not even buttons.
19:20The buttons are broken.
19:22The clothes are very dirty.
19:24The clothes are torn.
19:26Ustad,
19:27even my Shafi should become an army dean.
19:30When Ustad saw,
19:32that the clothes are also torn.
19:35There are no buttons on the clothes.
19:38He said,
19:39book,
19:40Ustad,
19:41he said,
19:42book,
19:43Ustad,
19:44there is nothing.
19:45He said,
19:46still,
19:47sit behind.
19:48Now the next day he came,
19:49Ustad said,
19:50hey,
19:51why did you bring a book again,
19:52Shafi?
19:53He said,
19:54Ustad,
19:55there is no food at home.
19:56There is nothing to eat.
19:57From where did you bring the book?
19:58From where did you bring the book?
19:59The next day he came again.
20:01Ustad also made a point,
20:03that after a week,
20:05when he will listen to the lesson,
20:07he will not come,
20:08he will call his mother,
20:10and he will eat it.
20:11He will say,
20:12after a week,
20:14first of all,
20:15Ustad said,
20:16Shafi,
20:17stand up.
20:18Imam Shafi stood up.
20:19He said,
20:20where is your work?
20:22He said,
20:23Ustad,
20:24I have told you.
20:25It has been many days,
20:26I have been starving at home.
20:27There is nothing.
20:28He said,
20:29that is a matter of daily life.
20:31Tell me,
20:32the lesson I have taught.
20:34Tell me,
20:35the hadiths I have taught.
20:36Tell me,
20:37the hadiths I have taught.
20:40Now,
20:41Imam Shafi said,
20:43Ustad,
20:44since when?
20:45He said,
20:46since you have come.
20:47Imam Shafi tied his hands,
20:49bowed his head.
20:51All the three Imam Shafi talks,
20:54all the hadiths,
20:55Imam Shafi's Ustad,
20:57had narrated,
20:59every word,
21:00every word,
21:01Imam Shafi narrated.
21:04This is Imam Shafi.
21:08Who does not know,
21:10the name of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya?
21:13Masharikul Anwar.
21:15It is a great book of hadiths.
21:17The name of Nizamuddin Auliya was,
21:20that there were 2240 hadiths,
21:23in Masharikul Anwar.
21:25Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya,
21:27spent many days,
21:29memorizing them.
21:32And Huzoor,
21:33Hazrat Shah Abdul Qadir Jilani,
21:36was the one,
21:37who used to teach the children all day.
21:39From morning to evening,
21:41he used to recite the Quran.
21:42When it was evening,
21:44the students in the Madrasa,
21:46used to pick up their clothes,
21:47take them to the pond.
21:49Now, Huzoor,
21:50was washing the clothes.
21:52Someone used to say to him,
21:53Huzoor,
21:54what are you doing?
21:56He said,
21:57I am washing the clothes,
21:59I am washing the clothes,
22:01so that,
22:02Allah gives me its reward.
22:06Who does not know,
22:07the name of Imam Nabi?
22:09Imam Nabi says,
22:11there was a woman,
22:13she was old,
22:14she had a stick in her hand.
22:15She came to me,
22:17she said,
22:18Huzoor,
22:19my heart says,
22:20read the Quran,
22:21but can I read it?
22:22Imam Nabi said,
22:23if you are interested,
22:24why can't you read it?
22:26She said,
