Both Lawrence and Alves have released statements this week claiming they were never intimate while shooting the movie "Socked in for Christmas." Filming's long over now though -- and, we'd say these actions are pretty dang intimate!

00:00So speaking of divorce, Joey Lawrence
00:03is finding himself in the middle of one right now.
00:06And this is complicated.
00:09This is a little messy.
00:11So his wife has said that the reason they have broken up
00:18is she believes that Joey was having an affair with a woman
00:24that he worked with on a movie.
00:26Her name is Melina Alves.
00:28And her husband has also filed for divorce.
00:33And in his legal papers asking for the divorce,
00:37he actually accuses her of adultery
00:40and names Joey Lawrence as the third person in the marriage.
00:45So both sides have spouses that have filed for divorce
00:51and are saying that the two of them hooked up.
00:54So she comes out with a statement
00:56and says, I want to clarify that there
01:00was no sexual relationship between Joey and myself
01:04while we were on set filming Socked In for Christmas.
01:09While we were on set.
01:11OK, so Joey has just come out with a statement
01:15a couple hours ago kind of mirroring that.
01:18Here's what he said.
01:19He said, Melina and I became close friends
01:22and I did not have a physical relationship with her
01:25while filming the movie Socked In for Christmas.
01:29Now this is where a video that we
01:32got is going to become relevant that we're about to show you.
01:35So Joey's wife says that their date of separation
01:39is June 7th.
01:40So now the question is, what happened between, if anything,
01:45between March when the movie wrapped and June 7th
01:48when they separated?
01:50Were they together?
01:51If so, then there might be that claim of adultery
01:54that her husband made.
01:56Or was it after?
01:57And this is where our video comes in.
01:59Yeah, so this video is from June 14th.
02:03So obviously, no harm, no foul.
02:04Because according to Samantha, who
02:06filed the separation date as the 7th,
02:10I mean, they were separated.
02:11So they can kind of do whatever they want.
02:14Obviously, I would imagine the people involved,
02:16you wouldn't want to see your ex move on so quickly.
02:20And it also, you might want to draw the conclusion that maybe
02:23something did go on after they stopped filming.
02:26But this is just getting really complicated, obviously,
02:29because you have four people, and they all
02:31seem to have different timelines of what was going on.
02:34So as far as what goes on with the divorce,
02:37like as a judge and whatnot, how do you figure out
02:40whose side you take in all this?
02:42Well, I mean, see, here's the thing.
02:44That's actually a really good question.
02:46In California, it doesn't matter.
02:49It's a no-fault state.
02:51Adultery becomes totally irrelevant in California.
02:54So none of this matters in California, really.
02:57It's an optical thing.
02:58In New Jersey, there are two different ways
03:01of filing for divorce.
03:02You can file no fault, or you could file for fault.
03:05And that's exactly what her husband did.
03:08And there are consequences that a judge could impose
03:12as a result of it in New Jersey, not in California.
03:15A lot of money is potentially a factor.
03:17Potentially.
03:18But the only problem with that is they both
03:20have two very different sides of it.
03:22The husband of Melina is essentially saying
03:24they were still together.
03:26He apparently found out about this affair back in March.
03:29And Melina's saying, hey, we were estranged since 2023,
03:32and there was no affair.
03:33So it's like, there's two very different accounts
03:36of kind of what went down.
03:37Although she says she does use the same timeline
03:41and say while we were filming the movie,
03:42which would be March, right?
03:43Correct, so her and Joey were on the same page on that,
03:47at least basically saying that they did not have an affair
03:50while filming the movie.
03:51But I mean, if you want to read between the lines,
03:53they're not saying that they've never had
03:55any sexual relationship, essentially.
03:58At least that's how I'm reading the statement.
03:59Well, and that-
04:00So I read it too.
04:01And that, well, but it could be after June 7th, right?
04:04I mean, that's the point.
04:05It seems like they made a point to say
04:06while on set filming the movie.
04:08Right, but there's still that gap between March and June.
04:11Right, and they haven't said anything about that.
04:13But this video is after the date of separation,
04:16according to Joey's wife.
04:19But boy, that-
04:20This is super complicated, right?
04:22It's messy.
04:23It's super messy.
04:25Hey, it's Taja in Atlanta, Georgia.
04:27I have to agree with the sentiments, guys.
04:30I mean, being accused of any type of romantic relationship,
04:33whether it's true or not,
04:35is definitely difficult for anyone.
04:37However, it's gotta be even more taxing
04:40in the middle of a divorce.
04:42I do think the statements where they're specifying
04:47that it's just on set,
04:49it's just kind of a cover up.
04:51I hate to pick sides, but that's what it's giving.
04:54Only time will tell.
04:55These timelines are not lining up at all.
04:58Well, they technically could line up.
05:01This is gonna ultimately be a big question
05:03for more of the judge in New Jersey than California.
