00:00Today, the Department of Agriculture is planning to vaccinate against African Swine Fever.
00:06They are hoping to sell their products in Metro Manila, which will help them in their sale that will be sold out today.
00:12And live from Manila, we have the first news, James Agustin. James.
00:21Van, good morning.
00:22The pork sellers admitted that they were severely affected by the issue of African Swine Fever or ASF.
00:28Here in Blumentritt Market in Manila, each kilo of pork went down by Php 20 to Php 40.
00:37Authorities are still strictly monitoring the inspection sites against African Swine Fever or ASF,
00:43according to the LALOMA in Quezon City.
00:45Tracks with heavy pork are being stopped for inspection.
00:49Permits are being checked.
00:51They are also checking if the ASF has symptoms of pork.
00:54From Marinduque to Ronel, they will deliver 105 pigs to LALOMA.
00:58They passed six inspection sites.
01:01It's okay to have this kind of equipment to avoid the spread of ASF.
01:05So that it will be easier for the affected people to return to the ASF.
01:12So that it will be easier for them to recover so that they can get up again.
01:18It's a bit risky but there's no problem.
01:21Our role is complete.
01:23The pork vendors admitted that they were affected by the issue of ASF.
01:27The price of pork in Blumentritt Market in Manila went down.
01:30Each kilo of pork went down by Php 360 compared to Php 400 last week.
01:36The price of pork in Quezon City went down by Php 320 per kilo compared to Php 340 last week.
01:45The price of pork in Quezon City went down by Php 20 compared to Php 280 per kilo of pork.
01:51The ASF caused the price to go down.
01:54But the total price did not go down because the price is not changing compared to others.
02:01It's just that it was affected by the disease.
02:05How is the market?
02:08It's okay. The market is still open.
02:11When Maileen insured her pigs, she was able to eat the pork she was selling.
02:16It's proven that she has a meat inspection certificate that was issued on the spot.
02:21They are safe from the pork we sell.
02:24It went through an inspection before it was delivered to us.
02:28Because the pork is now infected with the disease, it needs to go through an inspection.
02:35Some of the moms we talked to said that what they are buying in the market is more reasonable.
02:40I buy from my regular clients who have pork that is in good condition.
02:46I don't use frozen meat.
02:52You can see the appearance and they have a mark.
02:55That's what really goes through the quality control.
02:59The Department of Agriculture will start the vaccination against ASF today.
03:04The pigs in Lobo, Batangas were vaccinated first, which was one of the first to declare the outbreak of ASF.
03:09Van, the DA said that one of the things we should look at is the meat inspection certificate that is usually issued on the spot.
03:22That's where we can be sure that the pork we sell went through an inspection and it came from Lehitimong slaughterhouse.
03:29That's the first news. From Manila, I'm James Agustin for GEMA Integrated News.
