00:08The vaccination is far from being able to stop the spread of the ASF virus.

00:27will start the rollout of the African Swine Fever Vaccine in Lobo, Batangas.

00:34The ASF virus has been in the country for five years.

00:37It is a deadly disease that kills pigs.

00:40The Department of Agriculture has already started the rollout of the ASF vaccine in pigs.

00:49Forty-one pigs from two farms in a vast barangay in Lobo, Batangas were given the first vaccine.

00:57These pigs are four weeks old and negative for the ASF virus.

01:05After 14 days of vaccination, the pigs will get blood

01:10and the condition will be closely monitored to find out if the ASF vaccine is really effective.

01:18According to Agriculture Assistant Secretary Dante Palabrica,

01:22it is expected that the ASF vaccine will be used to make antibodies against the vaccinated pigs.

01:28Again, Agriculture Secretary Asec Arnel de Mesa said

01:32that it is important to give protection to the pigs

01:35so that the local hog industry will be active and the price of pigs will be affordable.

01:42This is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive

01:46to improve the quality of food in the country.

01:4910,000 doses of the vaccine were given to the province of Batangas.

01:55150,000 doses will be given next week.

02:00This is part of the total 600,000 doses of the ASF vaccine

02:08under the controlled vaccination program of the agency.

02:12Meanwhile, a big thank you to the hog racer Vicente

02:17after vaccinating his pigs.

02:21He said that he has a stronger desire to take care of the pigs

02:24and that he is sure that he will be able to sell it to buyers.

02:29The Food and Drug Administration called for the purchase of the ASF vaccine online

02:35and the only vaccine that is given for free

02:39is the one with the Certificate of Product Registration or Certification.
