Judge Mathis Vows To Win Back His Wife After She Files For Divorce

Judge Greg Mathis is going through it ... hot on the heels of his wife Linda rushing to court to pull the plug on their 39-year marriage.

00:03I'm good, how are you doing?

00:05I'm doing alright.

00:06I'm not good, rather, it's the worst days of my life, how about that?

00:10Okay, well I'm sorry to hear that.

00:11I wanted to ask you, you know, with news of the separation, how are you holding up?

00:15I'm not holding up very well.

00:18I would say the other man, maybe I'll be an example for the other man, cautionary tale.

00:26Don't neglect your wife.

00:29See, I'm here at the airport now, flying out, as I have for 25 years.

00:36My wife has been third.

00:38Serving the community, taping my show, having fun with friends.

00:43That's what happens, guys.

00:45Never be too busy or never have too much fun beyond your life.

00:49So I do want to ask, you know, the date of separation is listed back as July 17th.

00:53Has this been coming for some time now or was it something out of the blue?

00:56Well, ever since we started taping here in L.A., I committed to staying home more

01:02and making my wife more of a priority.

01:04But as you see, I haven't.

01:06I'm still here on the road, doing the same thing.

01:08And in terms of going out into another city.

01:13But I was gone for three weeks.

01:16That's what July 17th meant.

01:18Would you say you two are in a good place right now or able to maintain a friendship?

01:23Oh, yeah. We're still in the same house and we're maintaining a friendship.

01:26And I'm trying to get my wife back.

01:28I have to show her that, though.

01:31Hopefully I can show her why we were there together before.

01:33And hopefully she doesn't complete the process.

01:36But I'm changing in hopes that she will.

01:39I'm going to get my wife back. How about that?

01:41I just wanted to eliminate all the rumors, too, that it's something about a baby or even me molesting a child.

01:48It's none of that. I've just told you what it is.

01:50There were also some rumors of any infidelity.

01:53Did you want to clear that up at all? You say it's solely neglect.

01:56Well, neglect can create suspicion, certainly.

02:02And if you're gone as much as I am, you have every right to suspect.

02:06You go to work, you go serve in the community around the country.

02:09Then you go with your guys to sporting events around the country.

02:12You go to other events except without your wife hanging with you and enjoying herself with you.

02:19And so, yeah, she would have a right to suspect infidelity.

02:23But there's none of that going on?

02:25That's not the purpose. That's not the reason for this.
