Townsmen VR REVIEW on Quest 3
It took me just over 20 hours in the end to complete all the islands, I actually had so much fun playing this and I hope to see some DLC's in the future updates of new islands and new buildings.
Townsmen VR gives you not only a single island to explore but a world to interact with. The game combines elements of a God-game simulation and a classic building game with the interactive possibilities of VR controls. Whether from a bird's eye view or zoomed in close, you will always experience the action from the right perspective.
You start on an island and expand your might over a world of 13 different islands and archipelagos. Filled to the brim with exciting features, gizmos, and things to lay your virtual hands-on. Build 23 unique buildings and upgrade them. Immerse yourself in a thrilling story with many exciting quests or play completely free in the sandbox mode, both will provide you with hours of fun!

00:00If you love playing all those classic games like The Sims, Civilization and Age of Wonders,
00:18then Townsmen VR is right up your alley.
00:22You are playing a god and you start off easy so you can be taught and get used to the controls
00:28which may take some time remembering and getting used to.
00:32The size of the game is very decent indeed.
00:35There are 13 different islands and 20 unique buildings to build.
00:40Get resources such as wood, stone, iron, fish, meat, bread and build houses to extend your
00:47community.
00:48Have people fish and create a hunter to get deer to feed your community.
00:53All whilst building more houses to extend your people, farms, windmills, wells, hunting
01:01cabins, slaughterhouses and taverns, that's just to name a few and when you have completed
01:07an island it then becomes available to you in the sandbox mode.
01:12Each island may hold its own problems like bears or wolves roaming the lands waiting
01:20to eat your people or a sinking island or an island where the terrain is difficult to
01:26build on.
01:28You will occasionally be visited by pirates who want to take resources off you but as
01:34the game progresses sometimes those visits then become attacks so you will need to build
01:40an army of spearmen, archers and swordsmen to defend your lands.
01:46There are more available but I won't spoil everything for you.
01:49The enemies are just standard pirates or armies with bow and arrows and swordsmen that
01:55arrive on ships.
01:57Some levels require you to go out with just an army and attack.
02:02These can be a little more trickier but it breaks up the game really well.
02:07It is a magnificent thing to be able to zoom right up close like you are a person standing
02:14within your community and then to watch them work away up close.
02:19It really is a beautiful well thought out game and it's very satisfying seeing your
02:25community thrive after the hard working hours that you have put into it.
02:30You will find yourself saying I'll just build this thing and then I'll stop but two hours
02:36later you are still playing, skipping meals and sleep, you're just wasting away and looking
02:43like a zombie.
02:45I'm three levels away from the end at the time of me writing this and I've put in around
02:5215 hours so far.
02:55This does not include the sandbox mode.
02:58So you definitely get your money's worth from this game.
