00:00And the ten best prices to win a Heisman Trophy really before the full entirety of the country
00:08in college football gets started on this Saturday with some movement from a sensational performance
00:14on Thursday night.
00:16Let's look at the five best prices to win a Heisman Trophy this season and it starts
00:20Kev with Oregon's new signal caller, Dylan Gabriel.
00:24In his first year in Eugene, he enters as the Heisman Trophy preseason favorite at a
00:29six to one price.
00:31Last year, Bo Nix, certainly in the Heisman Trophy race, as was Dylan Gabriel at OU.
00:36Will Stein is the creative offensive coordinator for Oregon.
00:39I expect points.
00:40I expect Gabriel to be in the Heisman Trophy race.
00:42Look, I try at times to choose whether I want to kind of attack this fact or dance around
00:48it, but if we had last year's, this year's CFP format last year, Bo Nix wins the Heisman,
00:55not Jaden Daniels.
00:56Despite all the defenses that it wasn't his fault and that it was the best statistical
01:00season we've ever seen going into the Pac-12 championship game, Bo Nix was the favorite
01:06to win.
01:08Bo Nix could have lost that game and still would have made the playoff and Jaden Daniels
01:12wouldn't have done anything because that team wasn't making the playoff.
01:16You can just go look at the rankings.
01:19I bring that up one because people should know it too.
01:23It means it gives Dylan Gabriel a massive advantage to have that level of security going
01:30into a season like this, but it does then for me strip away some of the value and we've
01:35talked about that in terms of the national championship picture and Joe, I think it's
01:39reflected here in the Heisman.
01:40I've not found myself loving the numbers on these top quarterbacks.
01:44No, I agree with you.
01:45I mean, Carson Beck to me would be the front runner and we'll get into that in a second,
01:49but to Dylan Gabriel's point about why he's there, Bo Nix, 45 touchdowns, three interceptions
01:54last year, 78% in terms of completion percentage.
01:58Does that carry over?
02:00And he has big game experience knocking off Texas last year, but again, it's still a new
02:04scheme with new talent.
02:05Again, I wouldn't put him at six to one.
02:07I would put him more in the area of eight to nine to one.
02:10I think Carson Beck is the guy because on paper right now, Ben, Georgia is the best
02:16team.
02:17He had some great performances last year where he threw for over 300 yards.
02:20They were undefeated in those games and won by an average margin of victory of 26.6 points
02:26per game.
02:27And the third most passing yards from an FBS quarterback last year, more than 3,940.
02:32His prop today in the opener against Clemson and a top 15 tilt to 68 and a half, a chance
02:38to make a statement to his Heisman trophy campaign from the very jump.
02:43It is also interesting because 2024 will serve as a sample size in the 10 year history
02:49of the four team format of the college football playoff, eight of the 10 Heisman trophy winners
02:54play the quarterback position, but probably more importantly, correlating individual to
02:58team success, seven Heisman trophy winners brought their team to either a conference
03:02championship win or a spot in the college football playoff.
03:07How will that impact things now in the 12 team era where we expect a lot more teams
03:12to be in the national conversation deep into November and what that could mean for the
03:16individual races.
03:18Also should say the last two years of college football, the reigning Heisman trophy winner
03:22was back.
03:23Bryce Young, who won it in 2021 there in 2022 for the Crimson Tide, Kayla Williams last
03:29year at USC struck the pose back in 2022, a ton of quarterbacks at this 14 to one number
03:35as we continue to spin through those 10 best prices to win the Heisman trophy and a ton
03:40Kev from the sec that includes your guy Jalen Milrow.
03:44What do you expect for Milrow under Kalen DeBoer?
03:47Well, we kind of talk about a little bit even extra during the break.
03:50There's a world with Milrow's ability as a deep passer and Kalen DeBoer's offense that
03:55all of a sudden Jalen Milrow goes from a guy who averages 220 to 280 to 90.
04:00If he does that with the rushing, you then can be looking at these wild, you know, big,
04:05big, gaudy numbers for Jalen Milrow that would really kind of change the game then
04:11from his statistical comparison.
04:13Again, I, I think some of the issue for me is that last year I had bets on Beck and Milrow
04:19and they were at much different numbers than where they are now, but Milrow is going to
04:22be in the race.
04:23Joe, he is, and he has the type of schedule guys to really perform and have those Heisman
04:27moments, right?
04:28He squares off in regards to the first sec game this year against Kirby smart and that
04:33Georgia defense.
04:34He has a big performance and plays well when they win Jalen Milrow be in the area of about
04:39six to seven to one, just the third matchup in the regular season between Alabama and
04:44Georgia since 2015 and keep an eye on this price 25 to one on Travis Hunter was 60 to
04:51one entering the Boulder debut for the buffs on Thursday played 129 snaps on both sides
04:58of the football, had seven grabs for 132 yards and three receiving touchdowns.
05:04The best two way player in college football is Travis Hunter.
