00:00Three weeks down in the college football season in 2024, including week zero, two full Saturdays
00:10of the entire country getting involved.
00:13Also in the book.
00:14So now that we enter week number three, midway through September, where are the odds in college
00:20football and the chase for a national championship?
00:23Georgia, the preseason favorite, they've seen their price shortened exactly by 10 cents
00:28plus 280 before the year got started, now plus 270.
00:33Ohio State had the second best price, still the same case at plus 350.
00:38But Texas has moved forward at a plus 550 number, third best number around the country.
00:45Part of that is the Longhorns dominance in Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon.
00:50Part of it is Oregon struggling to start this year.
00:54The Ducks now tied for the fourth best price alongside Alabama at 11 to one.
01:00Joe, we'll look at Georgia and Ohio State, who have been pretty good this year.
01:05Georgia, a test on paper against Clemson and ran them out the building in Atlanta week
01:10number one.
01:11But let's start with the two biggest movers, Texas moving forward, Oregon moving back.
01:17How much are you buying into Texas after what they did to the reigning national champs in
01:22Michigan on Saturday in the big house?
01:24Well, I mean, listen, there's, we knew the talent was there offensively.
01:30I think what we're underestimating with Texas and what people need to realize is that's
01:35a real defense, Ben, that to go there and to do what they did, and I don't care that
01:41it's rebuilding, make up whatever excuses you want for the offense of Michigan.
01:46It is never easy going on the road.
01:48You know what wins on the road?
01:50Great defenses.
01:51And that defense showed up and showed out.
01:53And I don't think we give them enough credit because of who the coaches and Sark and what
01:58they do offensively with Quinn, yours and others.
02:02But the reality is, if Texas is going to make a run at this, it's going to be the defense
02:07that's going to be a much bigger catalyst in it than it's necessarily going to be the
02:13offense because that defense is going to have to win them some games, tough games coming
02:17up on this schedule.
02:18And I think they can.
